Wait, the aiming tutorial with the Duals is skippable in NG+? How? No alpha mods seems weird since you get them as you upgrade a weapon. I'd understand not switching them but not even the default ones seems eXXXtreme! One major downside of Deadlocked runs being Challenge Mode is it makes something that is REQUIRED on NG into optional: Getting enough dread points to advance. I feel an later Deadlocked runs should at least try to cover them, which ones are possible, not possible, or irrelevant (vehicle only). Both runs that are Difficult But Not Too Complex like this one and Giant Puzzle Boxes like Suck Cannon are good watches. I've even started my own runs of RaC1, I've done Bomb Glove and Pyrocitor only runs, with the additional goal of getting as many gold bolts and skill points as possible, and allowing their Gold upgrade once I bought it on Gemlik Base. I'm doing Blaster but the dev codes to unlock weapons have had some... interesting effects on how the game handles ammo for it. Anyway, I think Glove of Doom would be a real challenge of a run. I also notice you haven't done any RaC2 runs yet, maybe Bomb Glove there? Lack of a PDA would make plenty of parts more difficult though. I guess there's also Going Mobile, Wrench only or Lancer only.

If I did a run like this, I would allow alpha mods but not omega mods.

I hope you will do Going Commando challenge runs as well.

Man i would give my left ball and liver to play ratchets 1-4 on pc. Played them when i had ps1and2 but now my whole library is on pc.

When I saw the title of the video, I was also thinking that it would be easy given how powerful the flail is. Once you said you were banning the weapon mods thats when I realized how hard this could get. Though one of the things that I thought would be an issue didn't seem to be for you, which was the flails limited ammo. Great job on the video, looking forward to the next one! :)

Honestly both types of runs have appeal. Super weird stuff requiring multiple glitches and tricks are fun, but mostly come down to constantly having new tricks and glitches to show off. Usually in combination with consulting the speedrunning community. On the other hand, a straightforward but challenging run can make for a good story, especially if the video is built around just sharing the experience. Basically coming down to "I know it's possible, there's no obvious 'gotcha' moment where you need a different weapon, but what does that actually look like."

using 10 ammo mods on the flail wouldn't make the challenge easier or harder, unless you count being slightly less reliant of ammo pickups as cheating. also for a challenge suggestion can you beat ratchet and clank tools of destruction without rareatanium upgrades on any weapons, all weapons from vendors are encouraged to be used as id imagine takyon will be a long and boring bullet sponge of a boss fight.

I mean... technically you could get rid of Merc and Green by just joining in Player 2. They don't have to do anything; they just have to exist.

Suggestion. New game with no ammo weapons allowed. Which means wrench, suck cannon, taunter (comes in handy sometimes), and morph o ray. Not a vanilla wrench only run and just a little more funner

I got two ideas, one harder than the other. Hard idea: Use PDA infinite jumps to leave the battlefield to restock. Unsure if Drek might deload during this. You'd also need to go through more of the level to grab more Toads, introducing more chances to die while restocking. There is a teleporter to the ship before the boss, maybe you could grab some toads from the beginning of the level? Second idea is, can't you infinite PDA jump to the final arena? I don't mean the glitch where Drek is already defeated, iirc that should skip to the final phase no matter what, which as you pointed out does have suckable enemies.

Since you did this run, maybe we could do the upgraded form of this run. Can you beat Ratchet: Deadlocked with only the Holo Shield Launcher* *The Opening mission maybe a mission failed and there's challenges that make you swap weapons

It's basically zodiac, but with 50 ammo instead of 4.

Is the Ry3no weaker at V5+? It does disintegrate weak enemies but against bosses it does next to nothing compared to the V4 version.

It seems the difference between projectiles and "projectiles" is whether they have a mesh attached or if it is "just" a particle effect.

The R.Y.3.N.O. is the only Ratchet & Clank weapon I wish I could revert back to LV1 and keep it there. The upgrades ruin it.

FYI: On Batalia you have infinite ammo via an enemy spawner on top of the building opposite the tresspasser puzzle at the beginning of the planet. It's easily missed if you aren't looking for it so I can understand thinking you only have limited ammo for the planet.

I think u should do a infecter or lava gun run those would be cool
