I’m excited for when the dust settles on MO’s tenure and rationale fans start to remember and appreciate all the fantastic shit he did for this organization. From being scouting director for drafting Molina and Albert, to being the GM for the most lucrative Cardinals era of the last 50+ years. Mo will be remembered fondly. Having a literal single losing season in 15 years is something that a majority of fans seem to terribly underrate.

Ownership abdicated their responsibilities to the fans and allowed Mo to trash the franchise. Currently you have a team without a foundation. A quick fix is unrealistic. To me you sound like a delusional fan making that statement. DeWitt and his penny pinching have killed the golden goose. With ownership stupid enough to gut the franchise I don't see how you are optimistic. When BDW III takes the reins, it will only get worse. That doesn't sound promising or bright to me. In defense of our new hitting coach who got fired by the Mariners. I think I mentioned before in a previous comment that the hitting background in Seattle was horrible and hitters have a hard time seeing the ball and their pitching is not as good as their numbers. Here are some Seattle team splits. Home ERA 2.85 Road ERA 4.18. Home Ks 795 Road Ks 621. Home BBs 168 Road 201. Home Batting Average .214 Road Batting Average 234. Home Slugging 358 Road Slugging 392. Home HRs 87 Road 98. I think you can see a trend. When on the road, Seattle is close to being league average on offense but at home they are terrible. Their pitching at home is fantastic but on the road is mediocre.

Cardinals are front office heavy. When you're paying a POBO and a GM and a VP of everything, they take shortcuts with coaching. Does anyone even know what Girsch does? Other teams have far more instructors. I'm tired of the team crying about revenue when they take home a tidy profit every year and have baseball village off the books.

Pallante made 10 starts as a rookie, compiling a 3.75 ERA. It wasn’t Oli’s suggestion, it was Pallante’s request. Further, keep in mind Pallante threw 7 shutout innings in his last start in 2022, got zero starts in 2023, so it’s easy to lose track of what really happened, and you guys are EXCEPTIONAL researchers so I know you like to dig into this stuff. I’m not hating on Oli but Pallante was awful in the pen in 2023, and this is a case where, had Pallante not spoken up he could’ve been DFA’d & be another Lane Thomas or Adolis Garcia or et.al. All different circumstances, but guys, are y’all tired of this kind of misfit toy routine with our prospects? Keep up the great work, I watch it all.

I feel like I have to point out that Ryan Helsley couldn't stay healthy in the minors, either. It wasn't that he only ended up in the pen because the cards had a need; he also had at least two shoulder issues I know of and I believe one forearm strain/soreness thing on his way up the ladder. I remember writing his profile multiple years in a row talking about the talent, but the durability questions as well.

I appreciate the response to my question. You brought up a good point/the flaw with my idea is some young prospects could get blocked. That did cross my mind actually.

Mikolas and Matz are the ones worth paying to get rid of. I want to contend every year, so trade some,keep some. I try to unlock the kids on offense and invest in a pitcher better than Gray. Keep Gray and Fedde, good pitching will keep you in it. Trade Arenado, Contreras, Helsey, any others that can bring a return greater than the cost to keep them.

Congratulations to Tommy Edman and Jack Flaherty for making to the WS. We need pitching more than Edman. We have more replacements for Edman than starting pitching. I said trade Goldschmidt last off season, and everybody was like NO, you're crazy. Now we get nothing for him, same with others we kept too long.

McGreavy allows more hits than innings pitched. This is bad. Really really bad. He got better this year than 2023. 2023 he had the most hits allowed in the minors. I’m still leery about his success in the majors. A comp on him would be Miles Mikolas, who also is a guy who lead the majors in hits allowed in 2023.

Edman is not the same as arozarena and Garcia. Edman trade was needed you can argue at return but he was a crutch for cardinals not to improve by adding real bat

Koperniak will be 27 entering next season. It’s time to see what he can do and make a call on him.

In defense of Brant Brown, the Mariners hit worse at home than they do in the road. The hitting background at Seattle stadium is supposed to be horrible for hitters and is a big reason for their offense being so lame and why their pitching staff is so good.
