    If wild horses were slaughtered and became extinct for that the work will never be the same and 1 day people will realise what they did and it would be to late to change the past. They would live in guilt and sorrow for the rest of their life. My heart would break if they became extinct and I would never be the same.

    people this is done to HELP the horses, the land can only support so many horses and when there are too many for the land to support they get less food and end up STARVING. have you ever seen a starving horse? not a pretty sight, and as stated below mustangs CAN NOT go to slaughter it is illegal

    I know the situation only too well. My abandon Facebook Mustang Jack page stands in testament to my work with wild horses. After I almost went to prison for interfering with round ups (gathers) or as I call them.. Herd Sterilization and Removal Operations. I had to walk away! The Cattoors Livestock management company has run more horses to their death than Is actually recorded. Salazar, BLM,Cattle Ranchers,etc etc have destroyed more wild horses than any other administration since 1971.

    If we really want to stop the roundups why don't we round up ALL of the mustangs and adopt ALL of them out or send them to the long term holding facilities instead of wasting MILLIONS of tax dollars to manage a feral and invasive species.

    I don't care about what the horses AREN'T hurting. Just tell me what good they ARE doing. I'm not saying every animal has to accomplish something to be kept around, but there ought to be a compelling reason to allow an invasive species to remain in their unnatural environment.

    I am with you buddy. What the BLM is doing, is wrong. They say, this is 'Public Land' but there ARE enough farms in the US. They just want to take these horses's land away, put them into an AUCTION. What would happen if some other dominant animal started to take away OUR LAND, and put us into an AUCTION, and the we get slaughtered, or tested on, or take us away from where we call home? I just hope a law is passed for release of wild horses/burros, and to NEVER capture them AGAIN.

    Such magnificent presences here on Earth! Well done with the photos and the music. Inspiring. But so upsetting to see them lose their freedom because of the blind and selfish traditions of people, e.g. the livestock and hunter monopoly and other monopolies of the public lands. People need to learn to appreciate a wild-horse-containing ecosystem. This is a greatly enhanced ecosystem, or life community. Please read my book The Wild Horse Conspiracy for more on this. Available on amazon.com. Thanks

    What a dumbass, They are already eating themselves out of house and home, why do you think they need to thin the herd? Where are you from, New York City? (not that there is anything wrong with being from there) These horses may be wild and noble and free, but they are as feral as a tomcat on the loose. All they dois eat and makelittle,precious,cute, feral babies that grow up with ravenous appetites, in a country that cannotsupport them all. Roseybgir is right, you need to take them all home w/ u

  • @jennifercorly
    @jennifercorly 12 лет назад

    the government wouldn't have to pay anything if they just left them alone. there were 2 million wild horses 200 years ago and man has decimated them. they need to be free and are protected by the 1971 wild horse and burro act. the blm was created to manage the horses and land and congress was not intending that they be gathered and put in holding pens. this is outrageous and people are tired of it!

  • @jennifercorly
    @jennifercorly 12 лет назад

    that's fantastic! i was worried about him. can people visit him on the sanctuary? we're going there in july. let's get the word out about the illegal fence the usfs put up, in partnership with the blm. this fence cuts the herd off from their native watering hole and subalpine meadows on the usfs land. they have migrating there every summer and fall for 205 years. cloud foundation, front range equine and carol walker are suing.

  • @jennifercorly
    @jennifercorly 12 лет назад

    if they are put up for adoption and don't get adopted after 3 times and/or if they are over 10, the blm has to ask where they are going but if approved, the buyer gets immediate title and they can do whatever they want with them. this is due to the burns act of 2005. now, only younger horses are protected and can adopt horses but are checked on, and only get title 1 year after they prove good care.

    Why does all this happen?!... Its disturbing, us humans, taking away the little freedom the horses have, and for what? These are such unique animals, they aren't hurting us, so why are people hurting them, its a free country, were all animals! We don't have any more rights that a horse, I disagree with the whole 'roundup' so much, they are wild animals, leave them to be wild and be the unique animal they are!

  • @Turboy65

    @barehorsetraining Incorrect. By federal law, the BLM can't sell mustangs to slaughter or to any kill buyer REGARDLESS of age or health. If they do that, they are in violation of federal law.

    Conquistador was captured in that roundup, and held by the BLM for adoption. But the good news is that he went for the amazing price of 2500 dollars and was reunited with his lead mare, and lives on a sanctuary not far from his Pryor mountain stomping grounds. People with heart and a willingness to spend a little money have done a lot to right the wrongs done to these horses by the BLM. People are what creates HOPE. Never forget that. Never forget to create your own dose of HOPE.

    Conquistador was captured in this roundup, and held for adoption. The good news is that he went for the incredible price of 2500 dollars and was reunited with his lead mare, and lives on a wild horse sanctuary very close to his old stomping grounds. People with their heart in the right place, and who are willing to spend some money, can right many wrongs done by the BLM.

    @amberlynn272003 It's the cattle and "livestock" interests that are responsible. There are 200 cows for every wild horse. This is supposed to be protected land for the horses not ranchers. Wildlife? Check out how many species are hunted, trapped and poisoned --- Mostly again, to "protect" livestock.

  • @amberlynn272003
    @amberlynn272003 13 лет назад

    You people that are calling this inhumane need to get on a horse and try to gather them yourself. Half the time they are gathering these horses because they are taking over where our wildlife are and also starving to death, is that humane??????? All of you commenting negatively have obviously never been there and know nothing about animals.

    The unfortunate part of this travesty is that they are being removed from lands set aside for them by the ROAM act in 1971. A senator in Montana slipped a rider in a bill taking their lands away from them in a bill passed before a holiday session. This Christmas season while you are decorating your tree,contact The Cloud Foundation and help keep them running WILD and FREE.

    It's sad that this mare had a distressing experience but seriously, if you are concerned about animal welfare, all species of livestock besides horses undergo infinitely worse suffering every day. You should put some of that energy into reforming the meat industry. Maybe along the way you'd actually benefit your feral horse cause by decreasing the demand for beef.

    Idiots! the BLM has a bunch of bloodless, soul-less robots doing their bidding. "Bring in EVERY horse and burro on the plains" We need to pen them up in too-small pens and watch them panic and kill each other tryng to get out." "/we don't care about them, just get em off the PUBLIC land so we can strip mine it and rent it out to cattle farmers" "The cost and sense of this action- doesn't matter. It's not our money"
