AppalachHaun Adventures
США
Добавлен 21 июл 2006
We’re the Hauns. “AppalachHaun” is “Appalachian” and “Haun” mixed together. We live in East Tennessee. We love getting outside to explore, kayaking, floating the river, fishing, hiking, finding waterfalls, off-roading, and being in the mountains! Come along on our Adventures!
We have a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon that is currently all stock except for an AEV 2” spacer lift, 37" Fallken Wildpeak Mud Terrain tires, an OpenRoad 13,000lb winch, and a Clayton rear adjustable track bar.

This is A Must Do On Your 2024 Tacoma
I am not getting anything for promoting this. I just want to protect my truck! Allegedly, some have broken from hitting big potholes on the intestate. Who really knows! Icon has on video where there’s broke! I’m not doing any major desert high speed stuff, but I have hit some large potholes on the interstate at night that you don’t see until it’s too late and was scared it would break. Haha. I’d hate to break it on the trail and it’s sticking up through the mounting point into the fender while trying to get off the trail and mountain! Toyota I’m sure will replace them under warranty. If you have a spacer or pre-collar lift, I’m sure some dealers will try to blame it on that though!!

Can the 2024 Tacoma TRD Offroad Even Go Snow Wheeling?
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.14 дней назад
After the Holidays, we just had to get out of the house. The recent snow made the perfect chance for us to get up in the mountains and see how our new Tacoma would do in snow. We had no clue because we never had Toyota vehicles before. The wife was a little scared to take it up in the mountains not knowing how it would do. I just hoped it would do as well as the Gladiator. We didn’t want to try...
1,000 Mile Engine Break In Oil Change - 2024 Tacoma TRD Offroad

Update post oil change: I never saw the factory drain plug washer/gasket. The drain plug fell into the dirty oil pan when the oil began to flow out. So, I apparently have 2 drain plug washers on there. It’s been about 150 mi...

Hi. I’ve enjoyed many of your videos. I’m based in Kentucky east of Louisville and am fairly new to off road trails. I read in your description that you do not share camping locations etc with non Patreon supporters, but was wondering if there are any dispersed campsites along the 16 creeks trail? Not asking for specific coordinates. Just trying to plan a trip perhaps combining 16 Creeks and Tackett Creek Trail of which I’m trying to research if there are any dispersed campsites along that trail. But no luck on that yet. Thank you for your various trail videos.
@@LIFTSMITH I have not been to Tackett creek yet. Definitely look up a lot of videos on that because there are places in there that are very difficult. Also, I would probably not go to 16 creeks if it’s recently rained! Check the weather to see what it’s been doing there for a few days before. I don’t remember any camping on 16 creeks. I also would recommend using Gaia and using the trail track/route to follow. There are multiple different ways to go in 16 creeks and can be easily turned the wrong way! You can go get the app called iOverlander and find camp sites for areas you want to go. Coddiwomple overland RUclips channel actually put this campsite below on there. GPS: 36.67869, -83.77346 I got that gps from iOverlander and put it in Gaia app and it is on the 16 creeks trail. I’m not seeing anything else near it on iOverlander. Of course there is the town of Middlesboro nearby that probably has a hotel if you had to. Hope that helps a little!! Haha
Very useful, thank you.

Donate your jeep to science. I get 12.5mpg average driving like a grandpa with a completely stock setup. Everyone I k ow that runs 37’s tells me to prepare for 10mpg’s so again donate your hero to science so we can find out how your jeep defies physics.
@@stevejunior7599 even with the 37’s, bed rack, and roof top tent, I got 18-19 mpg all day long. It only dropped to 15 after being on a long trail all day. Few days later it was back to 18-19 mpg. Mostly 19. I drove it like a grandpa. People have lead feet and want to rush to get everywhere… even some people on stock 33’s in flat FL were getting 16-17mpg. Lead foot…
Im only 25 minutes away, so i go as often as i can. If or when you come back, I'd be glad to join you.
My 2000 tacoma was great in SNOW and we picked up several deer we shot and had to cross some river beds and no roads to get to those deer tacoma performed every time. I spent $19,500 on that truck I won't be buying a new Toyota for 40-60 k not worth it.
@@TrmpRFK24 luckily I got this TRD Offroad for 41K with the big screen, 6’ bed, heated seats, and spray in bed liner. Not bad for newer truck prices compared to others and for what you get. 🤷🏻♂️ I definitely wouldn’t want to be at 50k or above tho haha
Where you at in TN? We are in KY, and just got the same truck recently. This last snow we had no trouble at all getting around. Good video!
@@jasonroberts6402 nice choice! How do you like it so far? We are in Northeast TN around Johnson City, Bristol, Kingsport area.

Shad road trail looks as rough as parts of driving in unicoi county on Dark hollow and dick creek trails.
I was driving up the trail from hot springs towards rich mountain fire tower in July of 2024 when I rounded a switchback turn a huge about 250 lb bear came crashing out of the mountain laurel on the left side on the trail no more then 10 yards infront of my new truck. That sucker was running easily over 20 plus mph infront of my truck for a good 25 yards before bolting down over the hillside.
Don't know where you live. If you winter under spray for rust. You should take that oil tray off before spaying. Good video.

Does the new Tacoma come with Toyota Care? With Toyota Care, you basically get 2 years of "free" schedule maintenance, including oil change with the purchase of a new Toyota.
@@poonpoonsmith399 yes. Following the maintenance in the book. Which is 10K for the first oil change and every 10K. Unless you’re in the driving under “special circumstances” category then there’s oil change at 5K intervals. Idk if they’ll do the oil changes there for free for the 5K ones in between the “normal” 10K intervals. I’ll see when I get to 5K. I wanted to do the engine break in period oil change first to get a good start. If they won’t do the oil at 5K, then I will myself if it’s expensive for them to do it. We will see
@appalachhaun_adventures I didn't know the oil change intervals for the Tacoma is 10k miles. Basically two oil change with Toyota Care. Great video and you have a great looking truck!
@ yep! Tire rotations every 5K and some little “inspections” I think too. Unless I can talk them into doing the 5K in between oil changes under the “special circumstances” part, which is I think driving on dirty and dusty roads. I’ll be on some dirty and dusty trails.
