@@dubsboxalgo exactly. When the oscillators go out of tune and it gets a bit messy and it looks like it’s all gone wrong, then they come together again making everything sweet. Great fun!

@@hellf.o lol. I love the fact it’s more of a synth than a groovebox. I see it as having multiple synths that can be sequenced together instead of using samples if that makes sense. I needed some FM in my set up and it will fit perfectly.

@@SonicVibe cheers for that! I saw a few reviews saying the sound is limited but then you see other jams that are incredible. I only messed with it for 2 hours and managed to work out the basics so the interface seems excellent. It sounds like my 90s CD collection 😄

This will work great for live. Being able to sequence multiple tone and chord parts mean I can make it sound like 2 or 3 more synths 👍🏼

It sounds huge. There’s another setting that removes a lot of the distortion and gives nice ‘typical’ drone too. I like a challenge so I’m going to see if I can get it to ‘ambient’ lol

@@stephenaskew4346 cheers! Great comment ! It’s strange but I obsessively research lots of kit but always arrive back here with the same ingredients; A meaty bass line with PWM, a lush pad and stripped back beats, with a sprinkle of crystal clear lead on the top. It just takes me somewhere else.

@@stephenaskew4346 thankyou. Appreciate the comment. I keep being drawn to the drone landscape type stuff. But I love minimalist beats and early techno which is why I seem to swap from one to the other. Whenever I look for drone music it usually comes with lots of industrial and extreme sounds that aren’t my thing. I guess I’m looking to combine the abstract hypnotic drone with beats and pads. So that may be my thing?

@@dubsboxalgo cheers! I need to invest in a decent recording set up to capture the details. This is all into my phone mic at the moment.

I’m using the Driftbox for the main bass drone, then the RoAT is providing the higher lead sequence. The RoAT is going through the NTS1 for Riser reverb, tape delay and chorus. The NTS1 isn’t playing notes but the effects are creating the higher moving harmonics in contrast to the bass of the Driftbox. My only issue with the NTS1 is the way it powers off after 15 minutes which can cause issues when I’m only using it for effects 😅

@Lo-Fi-Si Absolutely great! Driftbox and RoAT makes a great couple for sure! Yeh that auto power off is so annoying but you can avoid it on NTS-1 editor

@@Lo-Fi-SiYou CAN alter the NTS-1 settings to disable that annoying 15-minute timeout. I think you do that thru the Korg Librarian. I only did that once over a year ago, but ever since my NTS-1 powers up and STAYS that way! Good thing my NTS-3 doesn't require such silly interventions. 😄😄😸😸

@@Lo-Fi-Si Just need to turn off sleep mode in the Global Parameters. 1. Unplug the NTS-1 so that it appears lifeless. 2. While holding down the REVERB button, plug in the NTS-1. ARP and REVERB will start flashing in hypnotic fashion. 3. Turn the TYPE knob until SLP.1 appears in the display. 4. Turn the B knob until SLP.0 appears in the display. 5. Press the ARP button. The NTS-1 will restart and will not sleep until it is dead.
