Ray enjoying himself dancing away under the piano, with a band like this who wouldn’t enjoy it , Ray ❤️ you 👍
Real jazz OMG
Watch Ray's legs.
Man, Ray was into that song!! I'm gonna watch this OK stuff performance the rest of my days!! Ray was always OK!
Real musicians
THIS is music. THIS is talent. What happened. All we get now is violence vulgarity ignorance. Feeding fighting and fucking. That's all rap is about. That's all an animal cares about. We are reduced to base animal behavior. The swine
My God. Isn't it great to be alive when Ray is just a RUclips away? Thank you Ray Charles Robinson for sharing your soul with us.
che grinta...the genius.ottima l'orchestra
Brother Ray...
Magnifique !!!
Ray's even got the drummer dancing! I don't see how one could stay still while listening to a performance lile that.
I should imagine your musical knowledge is zero
Pauvre con à celui qui coupe le morceau en plein milieu .!!! Ah ah forcément un cretin insensible
Could you upload Ray Charles full Austin City Limits performance from 1979, where it says "copyright 1980" at the end?

I ushered this taping with my service fraternity and sat in the first row right behind Ray Charles. Pretty sure that's me in the middle of the white shirts at 4:30. Thank you for posting this!
I believe it is Rudolph Johnson who takes tenor solo. Legendary player!
Wow, thanks for posting. Didn't know this existed. That's what I'm talking about.
That was a fun night and Ray sounded great. This was a particularly nice arrangement too. Had to have been the only night in the 9 months I traveled with him that he didn't chew out the rhythm section on stage.
is there a timpani is this version or something? the chorus sounds so large
@@bruce_daddy Timpani? No timpani but we had a couple of extra Raylettes on this one. :)
Il est unique !
I just have to say the bass player here adds a modern funk tone to this arrangement not always found in Rays stuff.
Ray preferred electric especially on tunes like this which he hoped might become a hit. It had been a while for him.
Pauvre con ne met rien cretin ,si c’est pour couper comme ça.!! Même pour ce super artiste qu’était ray Charles c’est impolie .!!!!
I don't know why but I can't shake the sadness that he never got to experience this type of moment. I know it's Debbie Downer, but...
T.A.Awua,larteh ghana,i love ray Charles's rendition of this song.excellent.
fantastic
Mettez rien si c'est pour couper cette vidéo au milieu c'est pire que tout en plus sûre georgia..!!! Cretin imbécile
Fly performance, Ray tears it up.
what did Ray say to the band at beggining of Georgia ( i dont care what the f you do than dont fkn play thats what it sounded like?
Sounds close to what he said. Looks like he was talking to the sax player
yes most likely.
@@Zappatero He used to do this all the time - castigate the band for some perceived shortcoming or other.
In those days, playing with Ray's band was a feather in your cap - a great addition your CV. But it was no easy gig. The Genius was also something of a tyrant where his musos were concerned. You took the kudos, you took the bread - but you also had to take the risks... It was no easy ride.
Hah... you had to know, with Ray behind it, there's no way any living, breathing soul would call it just "okay" OK. ; ) This is one hell of a version of this song.
Not sure who the bass player is but the man has style
Curtis Ohlson - google him - he's the real deal.
who is that bass player? He is not your standard big band player way more creative and funky.
I like how theres a pirate playing the sax
(The way it is written) I also mistakenly took it by the one posting this video, to mean it was simply okay, instead of Oklahoma. It is a great song and performance. Thanks for giving us this OK(Lahoma) song by that GeorgiA son.
One of Ray's finest!
@Bjudge34 I Agree with you all the way on this, and I'll back you up 100% on this one.
I saw him perform this in about 1985. He started with pretending to find the right key, then played it slow before launching into a full rocking big band rendition.
@Bjudge34 OK = Oklahoma = the musical from which the song came.
How can you call this an "OK" song by Ray Charles. This is the Genius taking a standard tune, adding some electricity to it, and the outcome is fantastic. Oh, What A Beautiful Morning...
"OK" stands for Oklahoma.
yeah it's a song in the opening scene of Oklahoma but I think the uploader was just being silly seeing as the description says a song about corn and stuff. i wish the video title named the song though because this doesn't show up when searching for the song.
One of my favorite Ray tunes!
@bstumpel I have that if u have Antibes! ;-)
He took 'Oklahoma' out of the musical theatre and transposed it into the jook-joints of the deep south. Bless him.
Dan Wilensky (the one with the eyepatch) lives in MY TOWN and gives me piano lessons!
@SteadyFready I met him on a boat touring through the Kenai Fjords in Alaska. He and my dad were having a conversation. He ended up telling my dad that he was a musician, so my dad introduced me to him.
@jamietrhcp17 when did you meet dan wilensky? under what circumstances? fred horn
@SteadyFready I met Dan on a boat in Alaska, of all places. He seemed like a pretty great guy.
dan wilensky on lead alto 18 yr old from berkeley high- an amazing player who played jazz solos at a very mature level- he was so good i had him record on my jazz and funk demo . i took a tenor solo and then he would after me -i was 28 - check out my videos on you tube-fred horn or steady freaddy- funk jazz with rocco prestia and more
Saw Ray sing this in Minneapolis years ago. Seeing him in person you can't believe one person could have this much talent.
