OEX Phoxx II v2

A bit of a look at the OEX Phoxx II v2 Tent that I use. I don't review gear unless I've used it heavily first, this tent hasn't let me down. Apologies for slightly janky footage on this one, it was quite spur of the moment. This video features absolutely no coffee, which is a crying shame and could likely be rectified if anyone wanted to buymeacoffee.com/RandomWander

But one that could be rectified in future if you wanted to buymeacoffee.com/RandomWander Please comment with any ideas for next trip, more history, less history? Let me know :-D

The one in which I wander from Milngavie to Conic Hill, and talk about various points of interest along the way. Bit of history, bit of scenery and a few shots from an already damaged drone. I also talk about coffee a lot, if you feel generous you can buy me one here: buymeacoffee.com/RandomWander Music Credits: Bensound and Jahzzar (creative commons)

An unfit guy walks the West Highland Way, Day 1
New to wild camping just used this tent for the first time. I’m a complete novice but managed to pitch it up quite easily. No rain or wind to test its limits but its really quite a comfortable space with myself and very large dog plenty of room. As a two man tent I’d share it with my wife but wouldn’t feel too comfortable with a mate as it would be quite snug for two adults. You’re very lucky with the open access rules you have in Scotland as someone who lives in Kent finding somewhere to pitch is more difficult. We have a number of lovely multi day trails here down South but pitching up along the way is harder. My one and only wild camp so far I was given permission by the landowner but I think only cos I said I was walking The Greensand Way, still I’ve got the email to show anyone for future events if anyone should need to see it. Interesting video
Well done mate, nice trail vid 👍 I did the GGW a couple of years ago and my own videos. Just subbed 👍 Justin
Cheers Justin, I think I watched yours when I was planning 😀
Rocket surgery, brain science.❤
It's very strange I'm english from england and from my Dads side of the family name is Irish and from my mum's side my grandad is Scottish native from the macdonald clan with roots with somerland Norse Gaelic Lord of the island and I'm pagan from england
Blessed Be 🙂
Great video, gound you via looking at video's of the tent! New subscriber here 👍
How's it going? Any more trips planned for 2023?
Nothing concrete yet, but I have plans. Last years was da bloody catastrophe - this year will be better 🙂
@@RandomWanderingsChannel nice to hear. I like the history and local info on your walks so looking forward to any you share. Take it easy 🤙🏻

Still subscribed. Dunolie woods are temperate rain forest I've not been to. Keep the videos coming.
Beautiful, thanks.
Weird weather conditions with thick ground fog but lovely blue skies. Made for some good shots from the air though 🙂
My tucktec is great. Just wish they could smooth out all edges on both the metal and plastic as everything comes pretty raw cut and almost as sharp as a blade.
hold the frickin' camera still
I hope 🤞 Scotland bring back wolves bear and linxs.
This part ofScotland looks alot like the california central coast, I was trying to figure out the beach until i read where it was
I imagine the water might be a bit warmer with you :-D
@@RandomWanderingsChannel 55ish right now, really doesnt get passed 60 until you move south towards santa barbara this beach your at reminds me of montana de oro
These seem to be the older model? The seats are not attached to the outside in the 2021 model also some other differences. I'm surprised at the negative reviews here as most yt videos are very positive.
These were from the Kickstarter, which was in early 2020. It took until early 2021 to get the boats. I'm not sure what you mean by negative reviews, I like the kayaks and certainly wasn't trying to suggest anything other than that 😀
@@RandomWanderingsChannel their current model is highly improved.
I'm munching through your videos in no particular order. I really like the history info, very interesting 👍🏻
I'm a new subscriber here. Found your channel when I was looking for reviews/opinions on the oex phoxx2 V2 tent. Just picked one up and im looking forward to its first outing soon. I've been watching some of your other vids and enjoying them. Anyway thought I'd give you a wee hello from just outside Falkirk 👍🏻 🏴
Cheers Tony, the Phoxx hasn't let me down yet 😊
Thanks for this interesting presentation on Somerled. I am of Norwegian descent and my Y chromosome DNA links me ancestrally to Somerled and many of his MacDonald, MacDougall, MacAllister et al descendants. The Clan Donald USA DNA Project has established that Somerled's patrilineal line was indeed Norse. Looking forward to more of your videos on Somerled-related history.
Holy f@#$ been binge watching your channel and somthing clicked! Did you ever work in the back brae restaurant in tobermory 25 years ago????
Oh dear, that wasn't perhaps the best time of my life.... But yes, yes I did lol
@@RandomWanderingsChannel anyways love the channel i do these walks myself awesome man. Keep on keepin on!!!!!!
@@jonjoe7568 Oh no, that's not fair - I'm curious about how you knew me from Tob now lol
I was kp/waiter/barperson/commie chef all for 1.75 an hour its me brett ! Me you and gordon used to have suitable rereshments now and again.
I remember you fondly. In fact often wonder what happened to you and Tony whenever I'm on Mull. £1.75 wasn't a lot of roubles 😆
Great stuff what time of the year did you go early May? Thanks 😊
Yes it was the beginning of May, I'm about to go again lol
Hey, I hope you are well. I have seen all videos. Very well. I appreciate your work. I want to connect with you & i have sent an email by ifthekar robin, kindly check it out. and waiting for your reply. Thanks
Nice to see you out again Kenny on another little adventure. I look forward to your next informative adventure.
I am currently waiting for my new Tucktec kayak to come in. Btw, I really like the music. Who are they?
Thanks for watching, Morcheeba are the band, most popular in the late 90's early noughties 😊
Howdy Kenny, great to see you back & fighting fit. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming trips.
Good to see you streaming again my friend. Also good to see the old Trews getting an outing (unless yo commissioned a new pair). Keep that fecund imagination and creativity going :-D
Love the vid Kenny, no' too keen on yer troosers 😀
Yer just jealous 😂

Nice wee video kenny, good to see you back on here making videos. And also good to see you putting in the training up battleship hill for Cruachan 🤙
Too much work
Beautiful and interesting, thanks!
Haha the swans got to be carful. They can be nasty
Sorry to hear you did not finish it. I manged to finish it back in October just uploaded the first episode. Was one stage had a serious amount of hills. The last stage was the best. Best luck when you return to the trail.
Great job on your video!
couldn't watch, it almost made me puke with the shaking
Loved the video and all the things you explained about Somerled, keep it up! :)
Good on you kenny, lovely footage especially the drone and enjoyed the music it was worth the wrath of the copyright police!! Rannoch moor such a special place of indescribable beauty. I agree that words cant do it justice. Keep on keeping on
Thumbs up, interesting
Wistful is a good word for the WHW. It stays with you. More so I think if you do it solo. Well done. 🙂
Thanks for your videos mate. Enjoyed your commentary and unusual camera work. I did the high route heading north. Unfortunately it pissed down all the way. I'll be watching your WHW vlog shortly. Thanks again for your efforts.
I'd like to think the camera work has improved on he later stuff 😄 Thanks for watching.
liked the video look forward to the next one
Camera work gave me a headache.
Sorry to hear that, thanks for the comment.
Finished it! Wow hope you feel better. Hahaha I chose this route because of its unpopularity 😌 blissful. CSO many helpful tips here. Thankyou from above 💎
Wonderful! How can I DM you pls about some questions on Kintyre? Many thanks! And can't wait to see more!
Thanks for watching, you can email me at Randomwanderingschannel@gmail.com I'm not much of an expert though lol
Great Video Kenny (& special Camera Assistant J!)
When i'd started watching this vid I was just thinking how few videos have been uploaded for the Kintyre Way. Looking forward to seeing the rest of route 👍
Good effort kenny, Looking forward to the next part . P.s and a swatch at the lanshan 👍
Yeah I totally lacked the energy to do a bit on the Lanshan, and my pitch wasn't exactly pretty lol I'll maybe go out and do a 'first look' vid when I'm feeling a bit more energetic.
Shame you had to pack it in, I was enjoying that. I look forward to your return. Love all the historical details, far more interesting than yet another detailed explanation of how to add boiling water to a dried meal packet!
On that note I did discover that Real Turmat ones are actually very good :-)
Kenny you’re a star ⭐️ . Trying to find the link to donate 🤷♀️😀, I’ll let you know when I find it . Hope you are feeling better 😊
Brilliant video Kenny, very interesting facts as you walk around , looking forward to the next installment of your 100 miles around the Kintyre Peninsula on The Kintyre Way. I hope your health is better when you undertake the next leg. Stay Safe 👍
In the video I can see what looks like a fallen marker post where I missed a turn, I didn't even notice it until I was doing the edit...
