4 Motor TVC Model Rocket - Flight #2 & #3
Timestamps:
Flight #2: 0:04
Flight #3: 0:36
Analysis: 1:51
Flight #1 vs Flight #3: 3:22
Like in Flight #1, the used motors for all flights were 4x D3-P Motors. They produce a thrust of about 12N for 5.5 Seconds.
The weight of the rocket was ~890g, so the average acceleration should be ~1.3g, yet the motors underperformed and the rocket was much slower.
Oh and sorry about our english with heavy german accent + bad quality :D. We try to improve it next time!
If you have any questions feel free to ask us in the comments or on Instagram.

4 Motor TVC Model Rocket - Flight #1
Finally, after over 5 months of work we made our first test flight :) This is just a short video to show first videos of the first test flight. Here are some stats that we can already tell you: - The rocket flew ~45m high - It drifted about 50m away due to high winds - The rocket did not take any damage - 12N Thrust over 6 Seconds, the rocket was ~880g heavy If you have any questions feel free ...
4 Motor TVC Model Rocket - Static Fire #2
Sorry for that bad quality! Over time time we will increase the quality more and more! In the next videos will be commentary with a microphone data from the flights. We also try to get much more angles 4K and SlowMo Videos. On the day of Static Fire 2 it was 36 Degrees Celsius hot and we just wanted to finish that test as fast as possible. Because of the risk of a fire we also had two fire exti...
Fully Mechanical Model Rocket Parachute Ejection System Test (No Explosives)
This is a small test compilation of our PES. The videos are not in the best quality because I used my smartphone to record it. The launches in the following months will be filmed in much better quality! The PES is still a Prototype and will have a few changes for our first launch. We for sure also plan to improve it every launch! It currently uses a servo, a few springs and some smart design ch...
4 Motor TVC Model Rocket - Static Fire #1
Correction at 0:07 Its D3-P not D2-P This is the first static fire test of our 4-engine rocket. Its just supposed to test the 4 igniters and the stability of the 3d-printed TVC. In the static fire we use 2xC6-3 and 2xC2-P Motors that produced a peak thrust of 4.8kp. In flight design we will use 4xD3-P engines with a peak thrust of 3.6kp over 1 second and 1.2kp over 5 seconds. If you have questi...
Aye captain, we're giving her way too much power, suggest we reduce to warp factor "eleven" 😅😅😅
How does it know when to trigger?
Failure is just a delayed success my friends
Great job. Control on flight 3 was really good. It’s so hard to get those PID parameters correct.
Well now.. could have gone better.
😅
LAND SHARK! 😱😁😝🤪🤣👍👍🇺🇸
Glad you could lite all the motors at once, too cool let me know on the next launch.
Lota data
Nice
can we get the dimension of the parachute?
Looks great! Are you doing anymore
@LTModelRockets why not any more projects?
Do you share the code and hardware circuitry of your TVC rocket model? I would like to repeat your experiment! Thanks a lot, it was magnificent!
what servo motor do you using?
Congratulations with the flight! What camera did you use to record?
What about pid video?
Propellant?
more, More, MORRREEEEE! 😱🤣👍✌
That was still awesome!
Hi I don’t know if you still check but if you have a git hub could you upload the code
Very nice! What igniters are you using here? Will standard Estes ones work for clusters like this?
launches pad need to be strong lol
I don't understand why is everyone building these "rockets" where the rocket is maybe 5% of the entire setup, and 95% is actually a mode of a rocket. If you're building a rocket, 90% of that rocket should be fuel. Everything else is just meaningless.
Well, if we want to put 90% fuel in our rocket, it will require multiple kg's of fuel. But thats just not possible under german law. Additionaly most manufacturers make just small rocket motors, so there is no way to buy them. But besides that, its not our intention to make an efficient rocket because its simply not needed. We dont intend to go to orbit or high altitudes - we intend fly no more that a few hundred meters to test our stabilisation systems and many other sensors - to collect data and understand how some things behave under those circumstances. So explain to me, why do you think we would need 90% fuel in that rocket? What advantages would that have? If you compare all advantages with disadvantages, you should see that - in our case - it simply makes no sense to have that much fuel in the rocket.
When’s the next flight
why are your rocket engine fire a for long time from another rocket engine ?
Sort of reminds me of electrons stage separation mechanism, though it still uses explosive bolts iirc
3rd time really is a charm!
That Was a really nice flight and such a improvement compared to flight one. I just found this channel. Keep uo the great work. Greetings from germany
can you please tell me how you are powering a 3.3v board with a 9v battery?
In hindsight Im clueless as well. I dont remember my decision making to be honest and why it worked. But later we used Voltage converters to 5V :)
That s a succes!
That is cool and is it possible to make individual thrust vector control
Yes I'm working on a 4 "cluster where 2 will fire for ascent and 2 will fire before hitting the ground hopefully upright but getting four individual tvcs to communicate together is hard
Cool
Very stable system!!! what IMU are u using?
Moin, welche Motoren benutzt ihr?
Wir benutzen D3-P Motoren von Klima Modellbau.
Did you use a MPU9250 for this flights?
Negative, we used an MPU6050
LAND SHARK! ..... RUN AWAY! 🤣
LAND SHARK! 🤣
flight 3 looks amazing!
Might want to hold it down a bit better next time
0:04 Starship In A Nutshell. (MODEL SCALE).
Hey nice Video, can u maybe show how its build exactly ? (Im going to build a big rocket, and need a good PES :-) )
Should this rocket still work if one of the engines fails to ignite?
It will probably jump of the pad but immediately fall down because there is not enough thrust.
What do you use to hold the rocket down during static fire?
What motors do you use? Are these motors free available, or do I need a license?
It looks like low power motors. No permit needed
They are D3-P from Klima !
I built something similar: ruclips.net/video/imqvdgmiufs/видео.html
