I'm a therapist and what you are describing is appalling. She is *way* off base in so many ways. You will find a better fit for you.

“You’re going to be uncomfortable with my personality” seems like quite the understatement, from that therapist! The chewed-up 🧸 & dog-hair infested blanket made me itchy, just from listening. And the competitive vibes…ewwww. At least you’ll never have to see the walls of dolls again 🩵

Oof, I'm sorry. Your experience with this therapist gives me so much anxiety. Your feelings are completely valid.

Had a very similar experience (minus the dog hair) with the first therapist i tried -- she got me so upset and had me spitaling then ended session early with me! I was in my car still shaking before i even began to process what had happened. I work in MH now and realize how wrong that experience was but at the time it lead to me taking FOREVER to try therapists again because it went so wrong. I hope you find someone else soon -- id definitely suggest firing her asap. Good luck !!

It almost feels like your therapist knew who you were before your appointment and has a bunch of bizarre, preconceived ideas about who you are. Weird behavior all around from a licensed (?) therapist.

Why do I feel like the therapist knew you weren’t going to come back so she made up that “7 day cancellation policy “ like.. 7 DAYS ??? Idk maybe you could try disputing that charge with your bank or something. I’m so sorry you had that experience tho; I’ve had similar ones with a therapist and hearing your story made me feel seen lol. Ily Becca!!❤

I’m a therapist, and when people request telehealth services, it’s an immediate yes. The client’s best interest is something every therapist needs to take into consideration. I’m floored at her behavior and disappointed that she conducted your session in that manner. She clearly doesn’t understand attachment. Wishing you the best in finding a better therapist 💕
