I have a 2008 Sprinter that chain snapped while driving, do you think the engine is damaged? Should I do an engine swap? I’ve been reading about low end engine damage because of timing chain breaking. Thanks

You can put the big O-ring that comes with the oil filter (Mann HU821X) inside the vaccum pump as the aftermarket seal fails and this is a cheaper option, I haven't tried it yet but I know a few people who have and it worked. Also replace the metal gasket (MER-6420160280) where the pump mounts to the engine while you're at it as that will eventually leak as well. People have done it on 2012-2015 Ml, GL, R class with OM642 engine but I think it should work on all OM642 applications regardless of their model years. Remember to clean it really well like using a brake cleaner and lint free cloth before installing the gaskets to prevent any future leaks, and do it at your own risk as the vaccum is created for brakes!

For me tensioner it fixed the problem ,i just drove 20k km no ratling noise on morning maybe need to change it soon but right now is good

Did you convert a 2wd to a 4wd or 4x4? We have a 2013 High Roof 170 and I would love to convert ours. We tow a boat with some slippery, steep ramps and drive out on farms with Honey Bee equipment. Thanks for the video. I have a question re: parts. Inside Febi box is indeed an OE supplier's chain. However it is not the case for the tensioner, no? How Febi tensioners are behaving on a longer run? Any experience with INA? INA & Febi are made in Germany, Genuine MB is made in Romania. Thanks.

Mercedes-Benz is such a unreliable garbage car.W 203 was disaster. Ten the first version of w204 was a bit better and then mercedes screwed up with totality bad om651 engine.Injectors and timing chain and tensioners malfunctions. Om 651 have only 1 chain its simplex and previous one was duplex.I though nothing can be so bad as bmw n47 engine but i was so wrong Mercedes-Benz is one of the most unreliable vehicles Also when you changing that tensioners on mercedes you have to take engine out same as on n47 bmw.I will never buy any mercedes again.I will buy only Japanese products ( And yes,i do own W204) at the moment.

Im having the heat issue as well as air only coming from the face vents. Feet vents and window vents wont blow. Does this actuator solve that issue as well?

Probably works great until it stops adjusting. It's BMW parts, why not use the Mercedes S class or the big wagon seats? I know, they're hard to find. But anything other than bmw from my experiences with them.

hello! What is the difference between engines 651955 and 651957?

Having trouble figuring out how to get to the bolt on the back side of the power steering pump bracket. The two on the front were easy but the one that’s bolted to the side of the engine is tricky to tell where or how to get to it. Can you describe how to get to it and what kind of bolt it is?

We call these the toaster, you got an awesome looking boost leak on the charge air tube there. Pull the whole front end to do any work on this bad boy, might as well pull the engine too

Sounds a lot better lads, I watched from start to finish, I am thinking of getting a Crafter after the old pick up timing belts were changed they snapped after 65K and destroyed the head, Valves bent and one piston cracked but I am in the process of re building it the labour is costing nothing, as an Ex REME mechanic no engine job is to hard. Just old age at 75 the wrists have taken a poundng over the years but I will just plod on. I got a vave set an followers and the other bits from autodoc and all are the same size so just the valve grinding to do with my nice electric drill. a good job you lads, well worth watching...
