2019 Ram Promaster 2500 Long Term Review
Is this a good choice if I want a camper van?
I would sure think so 👍
Great information..tax
Thanks for the video! Where did you purchase the material for the rebuild?
Really interesting and useful comparison, thank you :)
You bet 👍
Thank you for posting this. I'm going to check your channel to see if you have any more longer videos up. Cheers
Thanks for watching 👍
What top rail trim did you use for this trailer? And what flooring is that you used it looks like wood but it has something on top of the wood
I purchased the flooring from Criterion Trailers in Idaho. The flooring is called poly bead I believe. That top rail trim was just what was available from a local trailer repair shop
Does anyone know if this would fit a quad cab? The one I have wont stay flat anymore and my dogs aren’t enjoying that. This particular floor looks quite a bit more sturdy then mine
Where did you purchase the load floor from? Looking to do the same thing on my 3500
I bought it off EBay for about $300 I believe? There were a few different ones to choose from when I bought mine.
So when you remove the 6 way blade out of the conversation you would say the 40 is a significant upgrade over the 35 or is it one of those things where they are pretty close all the way around and it's maybe that 5% of the time the 40 will come in handy to have for either reach, force, etc, etc?
Good question. The 40 feels like a small upgrade-not drastically different. The U35 is close to the 40 in power, but the speed is the biggest difference I think 👍. Both are excellent machines.
Titan does not stock parts for this mower. I need a new driven pulley. They said call back in six weeks and maybe they will have one.
I disliked it because you are correct! Way too much tongue weight!!
Hahaha barely ;)
You can't believe everything you say
How about maintenance aspects?
@@ericmed I had an included maintenance plan when I bought it, but it seemed very simple.
Damn my 1500 classic tradesman didn't come with this either I was hoping it did. I want it for my dogs...you think it would hold 60 pound dog ? Was gonna make my own platform out of 3/4 ply and a few hinges
@@swan7654 I sure think it would. I bet I have over 100lbs of tools on it daily.
Mines got 240000 miles on it not sure how the engine still runs that's amazing to me. I've had three transmission failures. The transmission brackets will shear off the bolts holding in and you end up with a transmission dragging the ground it's dangerous and cold definitely get people killed with this design I definitely do not recommend. Not to mention the extreme cost of the issues. Can't keep a dam thermostat housing in it for 20000 miles without it leaking I use OEM parts on everything the aftermarket parts fail quicker, please burn this idea of a van Mopar before this van ends your company on lawsuits
Dude so cool. Really don’t need fancy 850s if you want to get up in the mountains
Yep! These do a perfect job of getting you out into the woods. Way different experience than a mountain sled but still super fun!
While I like husky products and have owned both brands I have never had weathertechs slide around
Nice work
DODGE RAGEMASTER!!! HURRICANE HENRY!!!!! #VANLIFE
Nice work!
Thanks for the info brother!
Yes sir! We have Husky mats in the 4Runner and they fit well 👍
I’m looking to do this to camps in the back seat haven’t had good luck with back seat air mattress’s will it support the weight of a 200 pound guy?
I usually have about 100-150lbs of tools on it with no problem. As long as the weight is evenly distributed, it seems to be fine
Well that made me smile 😊
That is till the mud that was pushed up in the hose stopped it from draining😅
Haha something to keep an eye on
Pretty sweet
I love it!
This vehicle is very popular in Europe as Fiat Ducato/Citroen Jumper/Renault Master/Opel Movano. Literally hundreds of thousands if not millions of them in Europe. One difference: they are 100% Diesel.
Interesting. I would say the majority are gas powered here in the US. But they used to be available in diesel 👍
Wich one for an arborist? Helping with taking trees down, getting wood out of lots and pulling stomps. Sometime in résidentiel back yard/small area. If i can manage my way around i would rather the 35.
I would say the 35. Very tough machine to beat all around.
Nice video but I really encourage you to stop chewing tobacco it's going to cause you to have tongue and throat cancer and I've seen patients that way and it's a horrible horrible way to die. It's extremely addictive because of the nature of the substance but please please please please please for the love of your family. Stop ... When you lose your tongue it's the most horrible ugly thing you could ever imagine . Don't play around with this make a decision today stop!! On your deathbed your buddies are going to be there but your family
I appreciate it, but I don’t chew tobacco lol. I give you my word! I have a large lower lip and have had people ask me if I was chewing before as well.
Im looking to start a side hustle with my buddy. He is all about stick, I know Mig. Im curious about how well those welds are holding up? How hard are you on the buckets? Looks like a solid weld.
I probably put about 500 hours on that bucket since then in very hard use ( we have a lot of rock here) and never had a sign of failure 👍 I had the miller 211 cranked almost to the max when I did them though lol.
9,400 or 94,000
9400. I think it has about 30k miles on it now.
Thanks. That was interesting.
Yes sir, I looked for a good side by side video before I bought the 40 and couldn’t find it. The U35 is truly a great machine though too.
Up is down & down is up because Chrysler had to do that because it was not GM.
Haha
My transit wouldn’t let me make dumb moves based on situation like that on the shifter
Yep. I love the Promaster, but that is my least favorite feature.
These don't look like they'll work on anything other than darn near level land. Any undulations would not work with the single big roller that controls cut height.
They work well on uneven ground, but if there are a lot of steep sharp bumps you will end up scalping the ground.
Thanks for sharing price. It’s nice to compare from then to now.
Pretty crazy how much they have gone up.
Alot of hard work there.
Thanks!
$2300! That same mower is now $4200. I desperately want one for my tractor, but i bought a 46" Cub Cadet riding mower about a year before my tractor and I'm making due with that for now.
Wow!! It was expensive enough that $2300 lol
Thanks for the video. Just finished installing my eBay “pre-loved” fold flat floor using your instructuons. To me, it’s one of the best functional mods I’ve done to my 1500 Tradesman yet. Had the fold flat in my previous 3500 and sure missed it.
You bet. Absolutely, once you get used to it, it’s hard to live without!
Thank you very much. It's always good to hear from someone who drives the car everyday.
what brand & model of grapple with independent thumbs is the one that you show on the Kioti and where did you buy it? R U satisfied or any shortcomings?
It is an Everything Attachments 60" HD Grapple. It has been very good and seems to be well built. My only complaint is I wish they had a flat spot or kickstand on the back of it so the grapple would stand up by itself in storage without having to leave it in the opened position.
@@billygrossjr.5585 Thanks for the fast answer Billy! It appears that they closed up shop even though there website is still up; just letting you know.
I heard someone else say that! Bummer deal.
Thats a crazy price difference i would drive as well Awesome machine man!! congrats
Seemed like an easy decision to me! Thank you!
Even with current fuel prices, you won't spend 8k on fuel there and back. New equipment is always exciting! Congrats!
Absolutely! Hopefully it’s as reliable as my U35!
what settings did you run ?
I don’t honestly remember, but I had it turned up pretty hot.
Coming from a guy who has installed a few of these myself on identical trucks... space is so limited! I personally run the air lines in an asphalt wire loom. Adds just a little protection. Well done though!
Good idea 👍. I have a question for you; is it okay to adjust the tension of the plunger “piston” while both ends are attached? Or should I disconnect the end of it and thread in the end and re-attach it? Just don’t want to damage the internals.
It won't hurt it to leave it attached and adjust. I always pull the pin out of the rod end then I can just spin the clevis on the rod to fine tune.
I have a couple of these vans (2018- 2019 ). I have about 150,000 on each. They have been vary reliable. I would definitely buy another. I wish they would come out with a hybrid or all wheel drive option. Coming from a chevy van, these ride like a bus. I wish the seat would go back a little more. The head lights are the worst. Like having a candle out there. Vans are used for service. I go threw a set of tires every year. Why do these van not have a upper brake light.
Very nice to hear about the reliability with higher miles 👍. I wish they had an AWD option as well. Maybe the new Promaster has better headlights?
FF is better
I have used both and Surface Shield seems to be noticeably better 👍
@@billygrossjr.5585 Agreed. FF washes off too easily. Surface Shield seems to hold on a lot better and last longer.
I’m hooked now on watching the rest of the videos on your rebuild of the trailer. You did a fantastic job!! Can’t even tell it was wrecked!! Makes me want to attempt rebuilding an enclosed trailer. I have been wanting one for a long time anyways. Great job!!!
Thank you 👍
About to pick up a 2024 khaos 155 slash. I was on the fence between it and a base model doo. Sounds like I made the right choice.
Absolutely. My 2022 Khaos 155 slash has been my favorite snowmobile yet and hasn’t missed a beat.
Big tex has quality issues
Apparently :(. The overall product seems good-they just need to do a better job with final inspection I think.
Those little machines are impressive.bit imagine doing it with a big CAT ;-)
Haha probably would only take 15 minutes and no whiplash 😂
