How To Show You Don't Care About Star Wars
It’s a Christmas movie!!!
Great time talking to Nick and Lindsey!! Gave us behind the scenes reality of film making too!!! Thank you both!
Actors play roles that are not representative of their ethnicity or species all the time. Actors who are not first nation play these roles all the time. Why can’t a black actor play the role of a white merchant. Up to the audience to suspend their imagination.
It just comes off as a bit forced. If you watched a movie about a small Japanese mountain town in the feudal era and there are a bunch of different ethnicities playing different characters, it kind of doesn’t make sense because it doesn’t fit the setting. If you make a movie about the German army during World War II and make a black person one of the officers, it doesn’t make sense because that’s not how it was then. Most black people in America during the colonial times were slaves, they wouldn’t be running a business in a small colonial town. I’m all for diversity and inclusion but when it’s forced to the point where it doesn’t fit the setting, it’s incredibly glaring.
Too many f-bombs distracting
Ahh the Cliffs of Moher
Thank you Kevin Smith for those wise words! Go get it!
🎉🎉
I don't remember telling Trent to get his life sorted out, but it sounds like me...and I still have some hope for OW2 haha.
😂😂😂 we had to include you in the skit somehow lol
Another great episode guys! Love the special guest appearance by the rombat at the end!
haha thanks man! That was all Badical putting the edit in there! Thanks for watching as always!
100% missed the point on why they paired each other. They weren't fighting over Deku and nor do they say that. Plus Toga falls in love with everybody including Ochaco. Yes Ochaco says she loves Deku and Toga explains why she loved Deku, but the main argument they are having is about motovation and why one would choose to kill. Ochaco doesn't forgive or accepts Toga for killing, but understands why Toga did what she did. Which leads to the parallel of Toga dropping people with Ochaco's power vs Ochaco lifting people up to gentle lay them down while dying from a stab wound by Toga.
Damn y’all complaining about anything lol
@@kvng_t1de13 we have one negative in a two hour episode and that’s us complaining about everything? Got it. Did you even watch to the end of this clip where we rate the season pretty high? I guess We’ll just make sure every thing we say in the next episodes is all positives and pretend there aren’t any negatives. 👍
The show could have used more hookers and flapjacks...just sayin
@@thegotspod awww did I hurt y’all feelings y’all want pacifiers maybe a bottle of milk get y’all lame asses on dawg😂
I simply don't understand why class 1-A is doing so much on their own. Where are the other senior U-A students, military, cops, hero teachers, special forces, etc. ? Also I don't find Shigaraki to be more interesting than OverHaul, Stain, Dabi, or even Gentle criminal. The most interesting conflict in the entire story is the Todoroki family. I still really want to know how One for All worked for the previous users, and if they had encounters with All for One in the past. My Villain Academia and Dark Deku peaked the shows writing.
Season 6 showed that most of the heros/teachers either quit or are dead cause of the league of villains and most of them get put in the hospital as well
Couldn’t agree with you more. Aren’t there so many other schools and agencies? And yeah, The Todoroki family stuff was the most engaging part of this season, hands down. Yeah we get the short mention of how the power affected other users that already had quirks but that’s the only thing I remember learning about the past experience of the other one for all users. Yeah those are for sure the best arcs. You said it my friend
Everything happening right now would make more sense to me if they gave U-A students a timeskip, or if the show began with a theme of having an exclusive hero University for Japan. That would make class 1-A decently relevant for me. I would still say that My hero Vigilantes is worth trying, but the finally isn't much better
@@Boba_Fettuccine. There was military both at tartarus, and that aided Stars and Stripes. They were completely inaffective, even with future tech. Reality is that the military does not have the firepower to do anything.
@@rainofkhandaq6678 The authorities should have access to quirk eraser serum, and the key issue is that most of these villains are people who were already defeated by All Might. They could all just be endless jailbreakers if something serious isn't done. I'm also assuming some military or emergency workers would contribute with their quirks as well. Also why haven't they been protecting heteromorphs ? (I haven't read the main story)
Not a "redemption", failed to comprehend
So Toga deciding to change into Ochaco and giver her blood to keep her alive while sacrificing herself isn’t an attempted redemption from all the trouble she’s caused?
@@thegotspod No. Redemption requires atonement. This is simply showing the full range of actions caused by her mental issues. If you pay attention to her writing throughout the show they're the source of her every action, she literally can't help it. At this point she's obsessed with Uraraka and Deku to the point of doing what she did. You can call it a "redemption attempt" if you want to, but in reality this is consistent writing. Now, whether it's meant to aid in making people feel sorry for her, or not, is a different topic.
Spotted Dick. Not because it tastes good, but because it's funny.
Beans on toast 😂😅
Okay, 11 things!
Its just good, the series is rushed and certain arch like the inferno arch( goblin queen ) could have been a entire season on its own.
Why is she built like John Cena, though? 😂 The games were great. The show didn't feel like it was for anyone. Fans of the games have already seen a better version of this. Non fans are probably going to roll their eyes
😂😂😂 all that climbing and adventuring leads to John Cena Build I think haha I think some of the game references were cool, but outside of that, yeah I don’t know
Ohhhhh this is why we have so many problems in our country. Almost all of our politicians are millionaires and billionaires. No wonder poor people have worse lives than before.
Crazy how that concept translates to a lot of different areas huh? Haha great observation!

I've just come out of the screening. And frankly, I loved the film. As I expected, I was right to make up my own mind and not listen to the critics. So clearly, if someone asks me if I liked the first film, I'm going to say ‘YES, it's great’. Whereas with the second, I'd say ‘It's a good film, BUT...’. I think that to appreciate the film you have to see it as a continuation of the first, on the character of Arthur. We're not going to see the Joker, but Arthur's story. You have to see it as a psychological film and let yourself be immersed in the atmosphere, in Joaquin Phoenix's superb acting, in the artistic side of the film. And not everyone is so sensitive to that. The film is different from a Joker film, but even more different from the first Joker film. And I think that's why most people were disappointed by the film... You have to admit that it's the main actor who carries the film, and just seeing him on screen again was brilliant, letting yourself be carried away by the character, the very special atmosphere of the first film that we find here, some very beautiful scenes that we find again in this sequel, very well realised I think. And the famous staircase scene, this time he climbs the stairs towards his beloved, with the same gait as at the beginning of the first film, he's slumped over, everything stops, he lets himself be carried away, and it's here that he leaves his role as the Joker. The ending is poignant and leaves the torch to the ‘Real’ Joker. The message at the end is pretty good, it's well written, Arthur accepts his fate, he finally accepts who he is. And that's how he dies. Because nobody accepts him for who he really is. It's quite sad really. But no, I can't say that the film is BAD and I don't understand these disastrous scores. At least the film tries something original, it's hit or miss, but it's got the merit of having carried me along and I came out of the film ‘stunned’. All in all, I loved these two Joker films with Joaquin Phoenix and they left a lasting impression on me. This was the Joker's best performance. His laugh, his facial expressions, his charisma, his outfit too ! A real class act. To like the film you need to have a certain distance and a certain sensitivity, and alas, I can see from the ratings that the majority don't have that. So, sadly, we're going to be stuck in the future with good, big action films without trying to innovate. In the end, in the first film, Arthur starts at the bottom and works his way up. Whereas in the second film he's at the very top, and falls back to the very bottom. He's not the Joker, but he inspired the MOVEMENT for future Jokers, and at the end we see the real ‘Joker’ cutting his cheeks. THE END.
You need to start worrying about your weight
The movie is definitely a big miss , I will say this movie has nothing to do with any other franchise , people saying it does is just making dots connect that never connected in first place . The dark knight isn’t only story where joker has face scars . Something funny about this movie is the director / film makers from sounds of it had complete creative freedom …… I am not sure why but what we got was what film makers wanted to make with basicly no interference . I think the first one is a good film this one kind of puts it down in every way . While 200 million is a lot , it went to well the stars and director and maybe no one liked the musical sets but it’s expensive to build though especially with cost of stuff going up . The film was also reportedly not screen tested ether which is Mind-boggling….
That’s insane! On the one hand you think “cool, no studio interference! Creative freedom!” But then you see it and you’re like “maybe they should’ve interfered” lol

no 1 asked for it - but phillips did not like arthur flexk was considered to be a hero - so phiilips took responsibility and deconstructed him instead of box office gold - which was the easy way out ! it took guts to destroy a franchise
I can give him that, that is a bold move for sure financially and professionally, but I think I just have the issue with them answering the question “what happens next?” After that first film. The ambiguous ending of the first one was much better but now that we have the answer, it almost cheapens the first film.
it could have went the easy way and made him joker - but I don't he realized the society is right - fleck got taken out of context and started to represent the real world - example had an employee and wasn't having a good day and he told me - I feel like joker ! and when anyone says that it's not a good thing - and Phillips must have noticed that also -
@@MarcAubin-jo1bh yeah that’s a good point and I understand where he’s coming from if that was the intention, but from a story and character progression perspective, it just didn’t hit
thank god i had watched it in japanese
Exactly!! It’s a different show in a lot of ways
Y'all watched this movie for us so we didn't have to. Thank you for your service.
The heroes Gotham deserve! 😂 I’m glad we could save you the trouble, definitely a tough one to get through haha
It's important to make up your own mind. Each to his own opinion and critical spirit. At least the film tries to innovate and change codes. That's good for cinema. The film isn't bad. You just have to understand it. As far as the musical is concerned, it's a logical and very coherent follow-up to The Joker. Already in the first film, dance and song are the character's therapy. So it's no problem to have a sequel based on dance and song, Arthur's way of escaping from this prison. It's very well written.
@@EliasH-o8j that’s fair and yeah, to each his own. But to see the character devolve back to where he was at the start of the first film and start over again at the beginning of the second film to not even build himself back up to where he was isn’t good character progression, in my opinion. I don’t think we had an issue with understanding the film, the execution, for us, just wasn’t there regardless of it being a musical or not. And since we, personally, don’t like how they answered “what happened to Arthur fleck after the first film” it was much better when we didn’t know. The ambiguous open-ended way the first film ended was much more impactful.

I turned the first one off half way through this just feels like a bastardized version of a classic 100 year old character the joker is chaos embodied he doesnt need humanization I know its removed in the name change to Arthur who ever but this fuck you dad version of the joker is painful and a spit in the face of the characters creator who aren't here to protest it also the crew worked 10xs harder than the actors didnt see the movie but still ^
I was only slightly curious about the movie, but was likely not gonna watch it anyways. Seems like I dodged a bullet. A shame really, the first stood well on its own as a little alternative side story, but I never really considered it part of the canon in any way. More of a movie that had an interesting premise, but they slapped on a Joker/Batman coat of paint to get people to watch it.
What you said exactly!!!

@@nixus1909 that’s cool man. We just thought that that D transitioning into Megatron was almost immediate. They could’ve spread that out over the planned trilogy they have. @@peperry8349 aww got it, didn’t see the dub so that would make sense, but it still makes you think about how different the dub and the sub is
@thegotspod it definitely was abit jarring/unimmersive at points, hopefully someone does a better fan sub at some point, great series over all though.
I think the script was originally written in English so its technically the original dialogue but dont quote me on that i could be wrong.
Hey you guys !!
A movie is good if it's entertaining and doesn't insult the viewer. If you focus on penises on statues and truffle shuffles, then you're missing the point. Changing your perspective doesn't mean throwing out your opinion, it means you have a wider palette. If a person can't change perspective, you can only watch one type of film. You can say the same thing about Ace Ventura or Step Brothers or Dumb and Dumber. Are those bad movies?
The movie wasn’t entertaining to me, does it still make it a good movie? If someone asked you for a recommendation for a movie with a good storyline, would you recommend the Goonies? No one watches the Goonies and says “what a great engaging storyline with well-developed characters” people say “what a fun movie with a kid that shakes his belly and a deformed man yelling ‘Hey you guys!” I’m seeing this movie from the lens of an adult who likes movies with a good storyline. The Goonies does not fit that category. What’s the one type of film I can watch then?
@@trenttucker5847 Yes. It can still be a good movie, just not to you. Would I recommend Goonies as a good storyline? Depends who I’m talking to and what we’re talking about. But kids finding an actual treasure map is just as good or better than teenagers trying to get booze for a party. That’s the storyline for Superbad. That’s a bad movie? Of course not. That film was full of cartoon characters and a lot more dick jokes, but still great. I wouldn’t recommend Goonies on your criteria simply because there are better movies to suggest. People say what a fun movie it is for those reasons not entirely because of those reasons. It’s also, those boys and their friendship, it’s the 2 brothers who are different in almost every way, but clearly love each other, and it’s going on an adventure that almost every child on earth has imagined: finding a map that leads to adventure & riches. Also, there’s nothing wrong with a catch phrase. A good movie can make a catch phrase. A catch phrase can’t make a movie good. Ultimately, if you can’t enjoy Goonies anymore, there’s nothing wrong with that. I take some umbrage if you’re saying that makes the film bad. 😄 And what kind of movie can you watch? That’s the million dollar question. But it seems like those lanes keep disappearing brother! The good thing is I know your reasons are thought out. So they should be taken seriously
What’s even better is that the late Sir John Hurt, who played the War Doctor, was also in _Alien._

I gotta question if he even watched the movie? Y'all really can't be pleased & fail to see the bigger picture. I thought it was dope how they linked it to the other films so not expanding the lore is some BS. Must've completely missed the inclusion of the black goo!
@@jonathanlisowski5618 absolutely I watched it, and every other alien universe related film sequentially this year. Since I saw them all back to back, it’s very easy to see the similarities and Alien Romulus is very much so a blend of the first two films. If you didn’t see the similarities, I’d argue that you either missed it or haven’t seen the first two films, at the very least, in a long time. I never said the movie itself wasn’t fun, but I still think it truly didn’t push the franchise further. The movie is clearly more of a throwback more than it is an expansion on the world. If you think I’m wrong, what’s something in this film that is brand new to the franchise that pushed the world forward? And I’m not talking technology and visual effects, I mean for the world I saw The black goo samples in the vials but how was the implementation and result different from Prometheus and covenant?
The goo was used to heal organisms despite the side effects mutation. The mouse erupting into a giant mass lines up with the Fire & Stone comics in how the Deacon grew into a mountain. The vaginal cacoon the alien grew in showed how an Alien goes from infancy to maturity & full size. I can name some more when I have more time. The black goo being extracted was new. The hybrid at the end was really something not done before & people thinking the Alien 4 hybrid was scarier? Really!? If anything, I felt compassion & even sad when it got killed. The hybrid in this one was scarier than even the Xenomorphs IMO. It dawned on me today in reading other comments how similar it is to Orphan of Kos from Bloodborne, which is heavily inspired by Lovecraft.
I saw the throwbacks, some were cheesy & some were really cool.
By bigger picture, Alvarez couldn't afford to mess up or Alien would likely end up following the path of Terminator. I wanted a follow up more than anything to Alien Covenant, despite hating how that turned out, but given the box office numbers & Disney buying Fox pretty much killed it. I feel it did add to the lore, filled in a lot of holes & gave a great ride. I didn't think it at the time but after hearing reviews I do agree they went too much with the fan service but it wasn't something that bothered me. Andy saying "b!#$h" was pretty cheesy though. 😂 But what I'm trying to say is Alvarez had a really tall order & I think he did a bang up job of pulling it all together to make a movie Alien fans really should support so we can get those deeper, thought provoking Alien films in the future. An AVP film following the original script from the 90s that Capcom based their beat em up game off of is what I want to one day see become a reality.
The first third of the movie gave insight into the mining culture & how awful people have it working in that field. The goo being used as a supposed upgrade for human workers as opposed to a bio weapon is another expansion to the lore. Seeing what happened to the Alien that got ejected from the original film was a fantastic tie in & filling in what happened to it & the durability of the Xenomorph.
Well Done. I've never seen anyone defend Cecil, but also represent the dual nature of Invincible's dilemma. You both consume fiction with a lot of empathy
@@Boba_Fettuccine. haha dude i appreciate it! My co host was all about Cecil! Haha

I really enjoyed the back story for Giyu Tomioka (Water) and Himejima (Earth), the confrontation Shinazugawa brothers, and the return of Tengen (Sound). I also appreciate the detail about the Ubuyashiki family. As far as growth... Genya confronted his brother, Kanao confronted Shinobu (Butterfly), Muichirio (Mist) learned kindness and patients from Tanjiro and he's clearly still growing as the Hashiras spar one another, Tanjrio and Inosuke found the inner strength to move the boulder, Zenitsu opened his eyes in battle for the first time. The corpse progressed as a whole for inviting Tamayo and Yushirou Also now we see what the Demon Slayer Corps looks like at scale, tanjiro has a new sword, there's a potential cure for Nezuko, and Muzan has been partially captured. One of the better training arcs I've seen overall. It feels uneventful because of the release schedule, not because of the overall story
Sounds too sweet, too strong. Pour half, top with soda, summer refresher
@@awesomefrankrapid we’ll have to give that a shot!!!
