Shame alot of people are bugged and unable to do treasure maps, i tried to do one then it bugged and quest got removed from quest log and cant take anymore due to game thinking i already have an active quest for treasure maps already but i cant see it or abandon it so im just stuck

My buddy and I were in that tower you found with the underground structures exploring. That 'chest' you turned away from when you left the tower turned out to be a really high level 3 skull named mimic. (we were only lvl 20 or so). We panicked the moment it woke up and ran out of the tower :D

+1 on the videos being good and you being entertaining! If I had to guess, the drop off in interest is a combination of novelty wearing off, short run to "endgame content" (and not much of it at that), and no social/politicking pressure. That last point is what they're addressing with the single server for P2 (rip Castus announcement in the vid haha). Trying to force the social/politic side of the game, which is a cornerstone of the game's identity and systems.

Yommi, daffodils and snowdrops are primarily intended for alchemy (magic powder, inks). I think they're also a cheap way to level weaving for those who aren't planning on going weaving/tailoring. Flax and bluebell are the main tailoring mats gathered by herbalism. Did you see many of those out there? Or is it predominantly daffodil/snowdrop?
