Part 2 Setting a Baseline for Improvement
Просмотров 3314 дней назад
In this video I discuss setting a baseline in a weightlifting program as an analogue for setting your spiritual baseline. Coming unto the Lord requires understanding where you really are before him. This is identifying your weakness. And only after you look that weakness in the face and own it do you gain the strength to bear the correction that is require to make it a strength.

In this video I discuss Faith as a Process for obtaining outcomes through desires, reasons, and actions. I use wanting to get strong through weightlifting as an example of going through that process.

This is a quick step by step on how to improve yourself, including identifying what to improve, acting toward that improvement, and discerning whether what you have done actually improved or will improve you.
Great video! I've worked out my whole life, so this really hit home for me!
I'm glad it was worth something to you. Take care.
Awesome lessons. Thank you.
@@RobertSmith-fk8cy I really appreciate the feedback.
This is so true and appreciate the way you laid it out, which caused me to pick up things I hadn't realized before. I've seen a lot of parallels between the gospel and weight lifting (and even more now). I start my mornings doing strength straining or cardio as a way to prime my mind and self for the challenges of the day. In other words, I begin my day with friction to get myself in the mindset for tacking other challenges.
@@jathatch4884 For sure thank you. The more I think about it the more parallels there are. The momentum in the morning has been big for me in making positive changes.
I love this video. Thanks for sharing. It has me thinking about how the Lord is teaching me through what I focus on. The analogs between weightlifting and spiritual growth is enlightening.
@@teambret thanks Bret, appreciate your thoughts and support.
This was really helpful!
I appreciate you saying so.
Enjoying your videos so far! Good stuff!
This is so clear and concise. I'll be sharing it. Great job
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
For anyone watching, around 4:30 - 9:00 there are some valuable truths shared about how God teaches us through the circumstances we face in life. Great lessons here. They are worth replaying a few times, thinking about how God has taught you in life, what higher order principles you can derive from them, and what other situations in life you can transfer those lessons to.
I'm very much looking forward to these videos.
Looking forward to the series! I'm sure by the end my spirit will be swole. Thank you for sharing.

This is excellent. Thank you for making and sharing it.
That means a lot Rob, thank you.
Lately, I've been thinking I need to drink more water. Tonight I put some ice in a cup, filled it up with water, and left it on my nightstand without taking a sip. I guess that's at least improvement? I don't know why drinking water is so hard for me, but now I know if I go a step further and drink it (action) then my feelings and desires toward drinking water will improve. Thank you for the information! - Your dehydrated friend
I should have added to the presentation that you just keep repeating the process and you can improve in more way than one at a time. Also here's a Huberman clip on how to hydrate ruclips.net/video/lwOPaNMTGh8/видео.html
