Muay Thai vs Kung Fu: Hard sparring in Commercial Gyms with Knees and Elbows!
Jason “The Saiyan” Aguas trained muay thai on and off from 5 years old to present day. He takes a lot of inspiration from Dragon Ball Z as per his nickname; he trained at Kru Training under Kru Ace Ramirez and then later on after he moved to AZ he trained under his father. Now he lives in Houston still searching for a gym to call home and training a group of friends.
Ryan Liu has been training Sanda since 8 years old, and after a long break is making his return in the past year. Let me know who you think took the round!

Lifelong Martial Artist Vs 1 Year of Boxing and Wrestling. Was Bruce Lee Right? (Boxing Rules)
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.10 месяцев назад
Bruce Lee once said, a guy who has boxed and wrestled for 1 year can beat a lifelong martial artist. While at the time, I don't think he is wrong, but today, a lifelong complete martial artist is a great fighter as well. I think to overcome that obstacle of a lifetime of training even in a ruleset that helps the boxer like boxing as shown in this video is near insurmountable. Don't just take my...

Catch wrestling a sport where you can pin or submit your opponent to win. It is often called wrestling with submissions or jiu-jitsu with pins. However you wish to interpret it is up to you. He has applied these skills in the cage and in the ring under bis opponents' rulesets. He deserves much praise and respect from the martial arts ...

This is boxing rules, isn't it? That's like asking a snake to fight a mongoose and not use its venom. Good sparring though.
@@JadePlanet i also train boxing. lifelong martial artist = trains everything
@SS.LiuRyan I mean, in this specific bought, are you only using kung fu against boxing within boxing rules? Kung Fu doesn't work under boxing rules. It only works when it can use it's entire arsenal.
Can we oil ourselves up and practice wrestling on a beach somewhere ? Dope video btw, i did in fact search for this.

muchos gracias mi amigo
You did pretty good, considering he seemed to be 20-30 pounds heavier. It also takes time to adapt Judo to no gi and use it against wrestlers. I usually force an over under clinch than push them slightly with a bend posture, they usually push back thats when you do your thing. If you are taller than them get a wizar with your left arm and let the right arm be free, pull them up slightly with the left arm and turn for a throw, or pull them to the side than down and do a foot sweep. You can engage with the right as you are doing the moves but leave it free and tuck it and protect your right side from an under hook by his left arm. This way you kill alot of his attacks while leaving some of yours open. Keep that wizar tight witht he left though. GL
@@myRatchets great advice. i also like the under over clinch but i decided that was not the best idea with a greco roman wrestler

Yeah . That was a nasty sparring session. The one you can end up injured or worst. Cervical locks, neck cranks are things that you should avoid in a healthy gym environment. Obviously this is from a casual bjj player point of view. You can go harder here and there but that guy was not a great training partner.
@@TheGeovanibetin he wasnt but hes a good friend hes part of the team. im a catch wrestler too so for me that was all on the table
For sure. All that said, the guy is a machine. Good job, mate.
I think according any rules: street fight, mma, wrestling and even grappling wrestling guy won. He got take downs, pinned you and controlled you most of time. The only moment you might have won was at the end when you took his back and almost submitted him, but I think time was up. But even then if he was a little but smarter to the end and just defended then it would be dominant victory.
According to the rules? Brother what? This is a sparring video, not a street fight and bro is tryna learn and not go crazy like the wrestling guy.......
@@fred4800 if youre a wrestler thats a fair assessment i would say. other people in the comments share your opinion, and other people disagree with you. grappling rules im not sure. either way great experience
Great footage, really clashing styles. At my first BJJ gym we trained a lot of Greco, usually pairing it with light boxing and elbows. Standing clinch can be really entertaining just on its own.
@@haircutdeluxe thats awesome which bjj gym you train at? thatd be super fun
@@SS.LiuRyan Straight Blast Gym, or SBG. It originated when a Jeet Kune Do instructor was exposed to BJJ and immediately hooked, and then a few years later Randy Couture and several other Greco wrestlers trained there to add that element. It turns out that attacking from single collar tie and underhook is almost like the real life version of the flowing hands drills, or the wooden dummy in wing chun. I like the Greco because I’ve always had a lot of natural upper body strength and if I can get a body lock I can move from there to mount or back control really effectively as I get a takedown.
@@haircutdeluxeagreed i train wing chun as well and we tie it in with catch wrestling. great combo

For me judo is always the best grappling martial art also in the ground its as good as the bjj
@@Baraa_-191Jan i disagree. i grappled a brown belt in judo in asia (which in america water down deflation of judo is a second degree black belt) and his ground game was good but not nearly as good as even purple belts in bjj ive grappled
@@SS.LiuRyan yeah you actually right bjj is the best on ground but i meant judo is close from it
@@Baraa_-191Jan agreed yeah
Nah. Judo will have better takedowns/sweeps sure. But once the fight is actually on the ground, the bjj guy has the advantage.

I would say Judo wone simply because it ended in a more dominant back take, with the choke close to locked in . Although Greco overall was more dominant on the take downs and transitions, he's clearly got a weight advantage and strength. Judo should work on getting those leg hooks in and taking time with the choke and not rushing for it. Great rounds except the dirty gouging.
