I have one and love it
@@allyburg7145 happy for you. What did you compare it to?
But how is the comfort level with the suspension.
Honestly don't recall. I will say that I've found Mercedes gt cars excessively stiff. You would need to try one
What a terrible reviewer. Obviously biased against MB.
Only haters I've found are people that own the car. I rented it and was totally unbiased. Things the "paid" reviewers don't tell you since they ARE biased.
You got lucky, I had a 570s. It spent 6 out of 12 months in the shop. The car couldn't even be washed without throwing a fault. It regularly couldn't find the key, the fire wall detached itself, I had ac faults door faults engine faults. Worst ownership experience of my life. It was one of the best cars I've owned, but at the same time, hands down, most unreliable car I've had and I've had many.
Good feedback! How many miles? Interestingly this one had 27k. And it was driven often. Seems like most issues are due to the cars sitting and or not in a tender.
Nice video! I did learn 2-3 tricks with your video, thanks! I feel sorry for gtrzerp2157 but I just want to say my 570S Spyder has now 29k miles and I have had zero problems. I just don't understand why people buy these cars and don't drive them. Ryem3, I wouldn't trade my 570S for the Artura you are giving away engine displacement, the M838T, is a very strong and reliable engine. McLaren and Ricardo redeveloped the M838T engine for use in the McLaren P1, producing 727 horsepower. And that's not even including the electric motor. On the 570S, as you may know, the tuning is toned down from McLaren. The good thing with the 570S is that if you want more power, with 5-6 thousand, it can be a 700hp rocket. I believe that the V6 M630 in the Artura is already at its limits.
Love the 70s porn into music!!
bro manually keeps the revs at 4k or above at all times. Confused why his range is so short
you never posted some videos with your CS ? You kept on the CS the OEM exhaust ? Thanks
No, actually never did my own video of the CS, but I did do one with @theapex Kept the stock exhaust on it, but it didn’t sound nearly as good as the competition.
@@Ryem3 thanks, i order a slip-on Remus Race and i hope i have more sounds . In Europe we have to keep the OPF 😤
@@socalbtz in Europe I don’t even know. I’m guessing the sound is even worse! Otherwise the car is very fun and all the carbon fiber is awesome. The seats look cool, but no lumbar adjustment, so stupid. I enjoyed it but moved to a 570 McLaren and haven’t looked back!
What’s the point of the review criticism? 😂😂
Sorry, was that English?

You got it! Race with the devil on Spanish Highway
Almost missed what you were saying 😅pls get a better mic 🎤 bro 👍🏽
I ll wait 1 2 years more to get a used one . Great video
Thanks! As a long term comment, the car has 32,000 miles and hasn’t had any issues except the instrument panel developed an issue with the display and was replaced under warranty. Still on the original set of tires, although they will be replaced soon even though they still have adequate tread. Car does not perform well on regular gas; premium is recommended.
Best review ever!
Just picked up mine last week from Carmax. Drove 130 miles and about 122 all highway. Reset the MPG before I left and I literally got 40 MPG
Love this video. Just bought a used 2019 X1. Picking it up this week.
Did you like it? I’m looking for a used one too.
Thanks for posting this. I have a 2021 M2C and am looking at exhaust options. Is this exhaust the axle-back or is the the version that adds the x-pipe and sells for $2,399 currently? The X-pipe version removes the resonator just behind the cats and does change the sound. The M Performance and Akrapovic are, in my opinion, overpriced but do come with "bragging rights". The Remus is right about in the middle of the price-point comparison and it does sound great, but perhaps a bit louder than I want. I had $6K budgeted and decided to buy some 763M M2CS wheels, powder coat them Bright Silver (not an option) and mount some Michelin PS4S in wider sizes to help with the, as you stated, "traction challenge", and have about $2,500 left. I really like the sound in your video and I also to not like the raspy/tinny E46 M3 type sound. I also do not like the "cow udder" appearance of the OE muffler. If yours in this video is, in fact, the setup with the x-pipe, I might have found my solution.
Yep with the x pipe. Deep sound rather than the Akra rasp. In sport plus it is a little crazy with the pops, but I liked it. I have aCS now and it is more mellow than the competition. Highly recommended for the competition.
Excellent video!
Thumbs down
Thriving on the negativity. My most hated video.
に
Curious as to how the suspension holds up?
Curious question, but no issues after 25k miles. After 100k, who knows?
Thanks for posting the video. I am considering the Dinan for my CS. Did you have to cut your exhaust to fit the Dinan? Do you happen to know if the M2 C exhaust one piece like the CS?
Thanks! Note that I now have a CS and it sounds totally different. The exhaust will not sound like this on a CS. The pipe is the same and yes it would also need to be cut. Someone else did a great video with the Dinan on a CS however and it sounds great! Check for it. However be cautioned, it will not sound the same as it does on a competition.
You must be in the Boston area with these drivers.
Haha, no, Westchester NY north of Manhattan! Drivers are bad everywhere!
It’s slower than the remapped diesel version.. lol 😂
How much does the M2 cost per month roughly?
$60k on a five year loan is $1000/mo. BMW maintenance is included for three years. I think a lease is definitely around $1000/mo
Is it me or does it not sound that different? Noise levels about the same? Maybe deeper?
Thank you for recommendations of tasteful mods. Also little tips on how to install them! I just got MY21 m2c
Maybe I missed it, but it does appear to remove the ugly cow utter the old muffler had at the rear of the car
It does indeed. New information- the sound will be much different on a CS, even though it has the same motor, the tune from the factory is no comparison
Glad you shared a picture of your watch, was just wondering what was on the wrist. Thanks for the review, i’ve just bought the m-sport version of the X1 and can’t wait to pick it up. Right hand drive ofcourse as i’m in the UK. Regards .....
Best decision I ever made was turning burbles off! Car sounds a thousand times better and you don't look or sound like a teenager while driving through a parking lot.
Holy shit...a car reviewer who didn't pick a manual over the DCT. I'm shocked! I had an SMG in a 2002 E46 and loved it (and it wasn't nearly as good as the current DCTs or autos). And <200 miles per tank? I agree, that's pitiful. My RS3 approaches 400 miles per tank (29/30 mpg) with mild highway driving. With fun driving, it's close to 300 miles.
Ryem, how loud is the exhaust now compared to stock? I'm looking for more volume. If stock is a 5/10 loudness, what would you rate the Dinan exhaust? Also, any drone in the cabin at all? Seriously considering this Dinan exhaust. Thanks.
Interesting question. On acceleration, it's about a 6 or 7. On deceleration, it can be an 8 or more in sport plus. This motor simply doesn't make much noise accelerating. I like it because it has a bit of a deeper tone, especially compared to an Akra. Also, it is a great value option given how stupid expensive the other choices are. Drone? You'll love this. Actually has LESS drone than the stock exhaust! Typically driving in quiet mode on the highway, the Dinan sounds even better than stock. I know, very odd, but that's my assessment.
Good to see you back posting. Enjoyed your previous M2C videos.
Which movement RM watch is that? Probably more unique than the car you're reviewing.
Haha, right! It's a RM35-02 Rafa!
What's going on with YT? Didn't get notified of this video and it's happening on many channels too
Great review. I am buying an M2 Comp this summer. For now, don’t need a car payment. Btw: are you in Westchester? Looks like it.
Correct! Mostly shot in Greenwich CT
@@Ryem3 sweet, I’m in Mamaroneck. I might hit you up if i have questions, if that’s cool?
@@AttheApex no problem!
@@Ryem3 Thanks!
After watching this. I will stay with my factory exhaust on my M2C. It’s sounds just as good as Dinan.
I'm thinking the Remus sounds better. Also the BMW dealer was recommending I go with Autowerks for midpipes. Any thoughts?
Nice. Where'd you get the carbon fiber interior inlays? Looks much better than stock
Dinmann. Nice stuff. Notice how they went with polished carbon for the M2CS? I'll be selling this full interior set. I'm also rye.m3 on Instagram
That took a very long time for research and development and it’s not even that good of a sound... I live in Europe, where cat-back is not allowed because of additional OPF filters. Even then my exhaust (Akrapovic Slip-On) sounds more interesting and sporty. And that one came out somewhere close to the release of the car and was approved like 2 month later.
Thanks for the comment. I would note that the Akra has a much more raspy tone, which some may like but I'm not a fan. The Dinan has a deeper tone, but is still hardly as good as the OG M2. Also, that Akra costs WAY more than the Dinan... around $6k if I recall, while the Dinan is only $2k. That's about what one should pay for a cat back. Similarly, the M exhaust is over $5k. Just ridiculous. The opf in Europe is really a killer! Might as well go electric at this point!
@@Ryem3 You can definitely get a nice sound out of an OPF car, but it will never be as loud as the ones before. Akra is expensive, that's true. But the same as the MPerformance, these two are made from titanium. That creates a higher tone to the exhaust, as you stated. I like that a lot more, because it makes the car sound louder than it is, but that's not for everyone. Gives you a hint of E46 M3 vibes, if you ask me. For sound, the N55 of the old M2 will always be the better setup with the single turbo, but the S55 has a lot more potential for tuning.
@@AkiDarkWolf indeed! Always hated my e46 m3 sound! I added a supersprint and a rasp terminator and it sounded pretty good. Indeed, the e46m3 had a similar tone. I really feel the BMW exhaust sound engineering is among the worst in the market. So many other companies do it better... try a 6cyl Jag for example!
Great video, but couldn't help but notice all the crazy drivers around you. A whole lot of people were either swerving or honking.
You should've seen what I edited out!
that's new york lol
Agreed on the steering wheel. I had a 2017 M2 and when I upgraded in 2019 I noticed the wheel was skinnier. How does your new suede wheel compare?
It's about the same actually, skinnier. I guess the CS wheel is a fat one!
Is your car equipped with an OPF/PPF/GPF, however you want to call these sound killers? Good video!
No OPF overseas :) pretty sure this was filmed in the US
Excellent real life review as always I love your content keep em coming please. I notice much harder shifts in sport mode and above it seemed smoother in efficiency mode Im not sure why and this is in my car which is a manual. Also any thoughts on the dreaded crank hub?
No thoughts on the chance of spinning the hub. Most things I've heard are on built motors. Tuning, as always, risky business.
The stereo in the M2C is garbage. My 2018 Jeep Wrangler has the Alpine stereo w/ subwoofer & it sounds 100x better than my BMW. Other than that; have no complaints.
I have the HK stereo, like every US car. However, I swapped all the drivers for Focal units. Drop in replacements, including connectors. Makes a huge improvement. Highly recommended
Ceramic coating is a massive waste of money. For anybody considering it; please do your wallet & car a favor by instead applying your own hybrid ceramic wax. It’s not only easy, but just as effective in blocking harmful UV rays + contaminants that are harmful to modern paints/coats. I can’t relate to even taking a vehicle in for a $70+ oil change. Do all my own oil & filter changes w/ full synthetic for $50 if buying bulk. Have a 2018 Jeep JL & 2020 BMW M2C; they’re not so different on maintenance , despite a bulky SUV vs. compact sports car. 👍🏻
Pretty different, maintenance on the BMW is free! I'm taking ceramic coating when they throw it in for free! And it does a great job. I will admit there are plenty of new ceramic coatings that are DIY and cost about $80. Much longer lasting and more effective than a wax.
Throttle response is too good in sport plus that just sounds super picky! Want range get a mini van!
Too hard to modulate the throttle in sport plus. This is typical of BMW not getting it right. Too bad the best sound is in sport plus. I fixed the problem with a Dinan exhaust. Now the sound is perfect in sport. Get a mini van? That's funny. I don't know if any sports car that's on empty after you use 12 gal! Weight savings is a joke! Want range? Try a GT3 with the track tank option...27 gal! 12 gal and 15mpg is a bad combination
The less shiny crap in the car the better. Glare from shiny stuff is brutal
Got one with 7k on the clock today. Holy shit it's bad ass
Congrats!
Prior gen>m2 comp. the comp has been dulled out and I cost more $, plus the rims are hideous on the comp.
Great if you like the prior gen, they sound better too, you forgot that part! Comparing the pull in 1st or 2nd gear at 3k rpm, really no comparison.
@@Ryem3 i plan on buying either the older one of the comp, i still havent made my mind, but i am leaning heavily towards the older gen. This will be a weekend car that i want to get the most fun out of, and the older gen seems to fit that bill better.
@@er98ah the comp seems to be holding value pretty well, so the OG may be a better value. I would test drive them both. The comp has a lot more grunt, more than just the extra hp. The suspension also seems more refined to me, although I know the parts are the same. Besides the motor, you get the brakes and other improvements. It's actually a pretty good value. Get those hot 763 wheels!
Great content! Did I hear you correctly you replaced the speakers, and left the stock subs? DIY or did you use a shop?
All DIY. Need to have trim tools and watch videos, learn how to remove the door card, which is the tricky part. I also replaced the subs, they were about $250 each. The Focal conversion speakers are not available in the US, I ordered them Germany.
Check out my mods video!
Love the video, keep it up
