Fantastic guitar! And your playing is as good as it gets Shawn!

Great job on the video and your playing. I have been playing guitar since I’m 12 and still playing at 64. I have been using non-coated strings on my acoustics forever and still prefer non-coated for feel and sound. I usually use phosphore bronze but I’ve developed a preference for 80/20 strings. I find the 80/20 strings are a touch less stiff for any given gauge. I’ve been playing D’Addario strings for years. I installed Elixir Nanoweb 80/20 strings 12 to 53 gauge on my Taylor 224ce-K DLX recently and I like the sound after playing them for a while as their brightness kind of tone down a bit. The strings feel nice although I find coated strings somehow feel stiffer. I’m going to try the XS 80/20 strings to see if they feel stiff like the Elixir strings. I am not as much concerned of finger noise when playing, and I don’t mind changing strings often, so I might just stick with non-coated. Thank you for your efforts on the video.

Listen, don't you dare sleep on small-body guitars! These were the "big body" guitars back in the 17/1800s before the dreadnaught was released... that's to say, MANY MANY a concert with these beautiful instruments were held before the big body. They are LION HEARTED!!!!

A very lovely and balanced sounding guitar. It's also interesting to hear different kinds of rosewood and often they sound great. We are so used to standard woods like East Indian rosewood, which is fantastic, but there are numerous other species of rosewood with excellent potential as well they we need to explore. The Panamanian rosewood is a great example of this.

Here it is! Man, this thing sounds amazing on the recording! I hope these guys can generate some sales from these videos.

Sounds great but these always seemed to have a bit too much bass without enough cut . Beautiful sounding though and reminds a lot of my 06 D-18 Authentic I had a good while back.

Killer Martin guitar. It's really smooth and bassy, they don't make many in that burst, and I agree the authentic series is probably the best guitar they make. Great demo

Nice warm mahogany tone with exceptional trebles, love the crystalline highs on this guitar. Aesthetically it's a winner too, the shading of the top is very well done and it's great to see Siren using style 40 inlays, I don't believe I've seen style 40 inlays on any other luthier-built guitar. And the headstock is cool too.

I was gonna mention the midrange thing, but dude, you beat me to it. After listening to dozens of your way fun demos, I say this one , from the cold north woods, (run me out in the cold rain and snow.. lol) is a serious contender. While I still love the Jimmy, whose bass will blow your ass 100 yards off the stage into the parking lot, there is something to be said about balance , and the mids are always elusive . But this one rings CLEAR. And I mean that. No buzzy, warbly bullshit. Straight up! I hope these guys make millions . Oh and nice pearl trim BTW.

Do you know what gauge strings they are? Are they light gauge or medium gauge?

Excellent demo as usual Shawn. That Altman sounds heavenly. The treble is clear and sweet as can be.

Considering the Abalone Inlay around the Edge of the Top and the Soundhole, if we are comparing, yes, that would be equivalent to a Martin D‐41. However, even thou there is no Abalone inlay around the Fingerboard Extension, the Style‐42 Snowflake inlay on the Fingerboard itself would make that beautiful Altman D‐3 Guitar equivalent to a "COMBO" of a Martin D‐41 and a Martin D‐42. It has the Pearl Inlay only around the Edge of the Top and around the Soundhole, consistent with a D‐41. But, it has the Neck/Fretboard Inlay of a D‐42 (and some variations of the old Style‐45 Snowflake Inlay on the Fingerboard). So, it's a D‐41/42. But, that's just me gettin' all nit‐picky on y'all, 'cause otherwise it sounds like a Howitzer Canon!
