Mean street testing
Просмотров 84Месяц назад
Finally First trip out for the year, track wasn’t great, weather was worse. Had to pull mucho power out of it to leave. No killer numbers due to track and awful heat and humidity. Managed a 5.22@136 missing quite a bit of ET for my usual short track. Not bad results for a first outing in some of the worst air you could have. The upgrades definitely paid off, I still have plenty of power the thr...

Dyno day FINALLY
Просмотров 1772 месяца назад
After a few little struggles we FINALLY got this thing back together and on the dyno, only thing I changed besides fresh rods and springs was titanium intake and exhaust valves, and taller lifters to change the angle and fit a bigger pushrod as I was having valvetrain stability issues and just short shifted the car for 3 years since it was a perfectly fresh engine that just had some heavy stain...

Some people call it guessing at the tree, but when you’ve been racing(including bracket racing) for 20 years… it’s not guessing, it’s gonna go green after it goes yellow plain and simple…getting it perfect is the tricky part, and the best there ever was have all done it too. Here’s a slowed down version of what was almost a great reaction (which I needed to win this race) gone wrong! 😂

An engine like this, producing 1000 hp, is insane

@@JeffLeblanc-xb7qe it should be there on motor, I’ll just have to see it on a slip.
@@michaelyielding you will see it for sure keep on keeping on.
Love this dart my buddy has 3 hemi cars one in a 68 barracuda and a 64 Belvedere and a original street hemi in his challenger he has had from the time he was 18 or so and he’s early 70s now he runs a 8 s in the barracuda 2 of the blocks are KB WE OR HE IS FRIENDS WITH TIM BANNING HE USED TO LIVE UP THE RD FROM US WEN HE OWED FHO HERE IN CANADA
MOPAR old school for life . Had 2 of those body style in 🇦🇺 I had a factory VG coupe which is really a Dart it was bone in colour with black vinyl top burgundy trim with the factory floor shift 318 and tac dash 👍🏻🇦🇺had a white one as well with a black vinyl top 👍🏻🇦🇺 great cars . Your is a weapon .
I've read that the LH2 version Northstar engine will safely rev to 8500 RPM's with just a valve spring swap, but that probably has something to do with the fact that it's only a 281cid engine.
The issue I was having with this hemi was it had stainless steel 2.400 intake valves, which are HEAVY, I changed to titanium intake and exhaust valves and they’re nearly half the weight, I also put the biggest pushrod I could fit in it for more stability. If this thing kept making power I could spin it to 8500+ now. But it peaked at 7700 so I didn’t need to keep going.
@@michaelyielding Ok I gotcha. Well I just ordered an LH2 version Northstar off eBay on a half price drop. I've been looking at the lot of them for a really long time and when I seen that one for only $450 free shipping I couldn't pass it. I'll have to rebuild it with the Northstar Performance"s stud kits before I twin turbo it though.
I want to do a burnout video.

Excellent hook up in that run for sure. Cheerz!
Nice daily driver...heh heh. Looks and sounds great, what does the car weigh? Cheerz!!
It’s weighs about 2700 full of gas with me in it. It actually still has stock front frame rails, bolt in stock style front suspension, steel doors, stock firewall, and stock front floor pans in it.
NASTY!, Subbed. Cheerz!!
Thanks you!
Some guy named Mopar Joe said YOU had a "Sporty Lil Slant Six" that didn't run "Too Bad" for an old Boat Anchor, and I should come over here and push YOUR buttons, Subscribe Button that is...🤣

That is THE sound of a Mopar !!!
I made one pass at the No Name Nationals last year. I subbed for John Cope against Professor P and had no idea it was to be a Pro Tree. I was expecting to see the first light and the whole tree flashed 😆 My reaction time could have been measured on a sundial.
Lmao, yeah that’s a different story! And I’ve had that happen before too!
Red means stop and green means you 🏁🏁🏁🏁❤ your Dart. Hey! you got a Hemi under that hood
We both had P/T on the car for pro tree lol…. It was an unexpected curveball, but we were just testing anyway.
Michael you know that is one bad ass Dart. I have a 70 LL23 Dart with a 69 HP 440, Edelbrock aluminum heads, Lunati 280/480 hyd cam, JW 727 manual shift, Hughes 2500 stall, 391 gears.and 275 rear tire…
@@jmr1970 sounds like a fun ride to me!
Ooooof did

Wow that’s impressive. What’s the specs of the engine? Cubic inch compression, cylinder heads, etc
It’s a raised cam Indy max water block, Indy 1RA6 325cnc legend heads, 4.50” bore/4.50” stroke (572), 14.75:1 compression, Callie’s crank, grp aluminum rods, comp 48 degree cam .285/.296 .826/.785 solid roller deal. Nothing crazy exotic here. If this thing had a 5” stroke I likely wouldn’t need as much rpm for the same power, 572” is just kind of on the small side for the size of these runners so I need the rpm so I can get the good out of what I got. This is why I just changed the lifters and fit the biggest pushrod I could in it and did titanium intake and exhaust valves. The pushrods are kind of a pain in the butt because you really don’t have enough real estate to fit anything massive and they are close on these engines anyway. It turned out pretty good I think. Thanks for watching and for the interest.
Best pass before this refresh/rebuild was 5.09@133 in the dart on 275 radials. Upgrades are looking promising to go a little faster now. I had power out of it Saturday and traction issues and in the heat it was trapping over 136 now. More to come this weekend I hope. Taking it back out.
@@michaelyielding hell of a lot of power! I agree if you had the extra stroke with the 1RA6 head would drop the rpm. But hemis love RPM lol. When my dads 540 was built, my builder and I clearanced the Indy block to fit 7/16” pushrod. But we are using stage V heads which gave us the room to do so. Were you able to fit the 7/16 pushrod with these heads?
@@michaelyielding dude that things an animal! 5.09 wow. Weight? Gear? Trans?

There it is! Hemi life must be nice!
Somebody has to do it
Man does that hook up!
Nice. And didn't have to rev high to get it.
Yeah it just needed about 600 more rpm honestly. It’s much happier!
Is this one of those gen3 hemis?
It isn’t. It’s one of those gen 2 hemis.
Do i hear a blower!?
I wish, it’s a gear drive, we are probably taking that off and putting a double roller chain on it before too much longer
The ultimate Mopar!
Nice car….sounds horrible tho
🤣 it’s Pete Jackson’s fault! It will be getting a timing chain to replace that gear drive. Good news is, it runs great and timing is rock solid…. You aren’t wrong though!
Maybe stage shallow. Looks he just got the lite on you. If you would have been with him at the tree you'de have been there.
Oh he definitely treed me by just a little.
Nice ride
