FASTER WAYS TO WRITE A PAPER
Whether you have a paper due tomorrow or in five weeks, this video will help you get it done faster AND with less stress. I have done a lot of googling looking for paper-writing workflows. There's not a lot out there. So I had to come up with my own method. Sit back and get ready to learn how to write a paper... fast.
There are two methods here. One is for getting it done in five days (recommended). But there are also some good tips if you have a paper due tomorrow. Here are the timestamps.
METHOD ONE (Write a Paper in Five Days)
Day 1 - 1:30
Day 2 - 2:59
Day 3 - 4:19
Day 4 - 4:56
Day 5 - 5:47
METHOD TWO: (Write a Paper by Tomorrow)

STOP USING WORD: Try these writing apps instead
Просмотров 11 тыс.4 года назад
Stop using Microsoft Word. I have spent too much of my life not knowing about Scrivener and Ulysses. These are two great writing applications for keeping you organized and focused on your writing. In the end, I decided against Ulysess and for Scrivener. And after about a year of use, I am loving it. It saves me so much time trying to organize mountains of ideas and research. But they are both w...

WHAT IS PUBLIC POLICY IN SIMPLE TERMS
Просмотров 21 тыс.4 года назад
WHAT IS PUBLIC POLICY IN SIMPLE TERMS I asked my Mom to define public policy. Here's what she said. As you may know, my PhD is going to be in public policy. Well, enough people have asked me what public policy is that I thought it would be worthwhile to provide a quick explanation. Also, thanks so much to Zack, Bekah, Catie, and my Mom for being willing to get on camera and answer questions whe...

Once you're an expert in something though the writing itself comes easy. Great video though, Zotero looks like an amazing tool. Procrastination is a whole other issue I need to work on... 😅

Thank you for this! This video was actually listed in the learning materials for my first week of class. If others find it helpful, here are the notes I've taken on this video! - The first thing you should do is review your course material. If you can’t find anything there - - Read any materials your professor has provided at the beginning of class. - Look for contact information and preferred contact methods/times. - Check out your school policies. There may be guidelines for required timelines that online professors have to respond to student communications. If you have a professor who is chronically slow at responding, and it causes you to be late on your assignments, you may want to escalate the issue to the higher ups. - Write your email: o Add your class designator, quarter/term, and week in the subject line along with the actual subject. o Keep it short and to the point. Communicate the necessary details, then ask the question. o Example email: (Here I inserted a screenshot of the example email in the video) o Check their title. If you don’t know it, call them Professor [Name]. o Be honest and realistic.

Great video not just for online classes, but for those classes where students sit like Easter Island statues, hoping they won't get called on. Also, in a classroom, those students who like to talk can take over a discussion; introverts (like me) find it exhausting to try to add their thoughts. They're much more likely to contribute to an online discussion where they have time to consider their responses.

One of the craziest things I've encountered in a discussion board post was someone responding to a post and asking me how old I was. She then proceeded to answer my post as if I was "too young to understand." Turns out, she's 54 and I am turning 56. If she thought I was a "yung'in" she was sadly mistaken.

I've had to do them as a student - and I've assigned them as a professor. I find value in both experiences. I suppose if you have an instructor who gives way too many assignments - the discussion board may be overboard! It's important to hear from varied lenses on topics. Learning should be more than just checking boxes - but - it has become that in many ways. And yes - you can tell which students have original thoughts and have interesting perspectives on the material -- and which students haven't read much of anything and are simple in thought on the topic. I teach Biology - the discussion board is where I can bring "real life" into the chapter topics -- such as looking into HeLa cells and The Right to Try per medical treatments...topics interesting to students but not necessarily mentioned (at least in detail) in a textbook. Annnnnyway...

Poof! Mind blown!! I haven't been in college for 2 decades and decided to jump in feet first by learning fully online This could have something to do with the reason I have never ever ever heard of a google scholar!!! I admit I am one of the literally few millennials who is technically uninclined and, (ik itscompletely off topic), I don't think anyone who is currently over 30 (almost37) should have to bare that label/classification. BUT back to topic, there were i think 3 points maybe2 that will be a major help to probably every assignment I will have this year. Help me bring this 3.44 to over a 3.5!!!

Writing a paper is harder when it's not an "assignment" and hence the goal is unclear, especially if you DON'T want to include some main conclusion that is being saved for a broader paper, and the current paper is 'just' a foundation stepping stone. Any tips for that?

There are no public policies because the public follows law. And any business who tries to push their policies on the public which most do is unconstitutional and unlawful. I don't know why this is so hard to understand but policies are for employees the public do not have to follow company policies.

Word isn't for writing books, but for formatted documents. For long writing it's better to use something simplier, cleaner with basic options like Focus Writer or even terminal based Wordgrinder with autosave and nicely setup theme for no distraction. There's also Obsidian that supports Markdown if someone needs basic formatting without using mouse. There's no need to buy software like this since many great apps are FOSS and they are perfectly fine.

I wanted more about what it actually is 😢 I’m an environmental anthropology PhD TAing a medical anthropology and public policy course and need to explain public policy to a room full of undergrads in 3 hours. I’m sure you can whip up another one of your nicely backdropped and well-edited videos by then… right? 😅
