The Mascot at the Center of MLB's Biggest Scandal
In the 1980s, MLB was in the midst of one of its biggest scandals ever. Cocaine was more prevalent than it had ever been, and the extent of its influence on baseball was demonstrated in the Pittsburgh Drug Trials. But the most interesting thing that those trials revealed, at least to me, was the involvement of the Pirate Parrot, Pittsburgh's incredibly popular mascot, in the scandal. In this video, I talk about the man behind the parrot mask, the scandal's impact on his life, and the implications the scandal had on other people in the baseball world. His story is filled with intrigue, betrayal, and suspense. It's one you'll absolutely want to tune into.
Shout out to slightly in depth gamin...

In this video we discuss pitching, and how terrifying it is to be a pitcher in Major League Baseball. From Rick Cerone to Cliff Lee to Patrick Corbin, every single player has their own individual motivations and fears connected to pitching. Byron Buxton: The Sisyphus of Baseball

Byron Buxton is one of the best players in MLB, straight up. He should be talked about among the likes of Aaron Judge and Mike Trout in terms of pure dominance in the sport. But he can't ever seem to stay healthy no matter what he does. In this video, I analyze what makes Buxton so good, and why he keeps on pushing forward despite those countless injuries. Jeff McNeil Makes No Sense

Today we talk about Jeff McNeil, one of baseball's most underappreciated hitters. Despite consistently putting up excellent season after excellent season, there's still something nagging his case as one of THE elite players in MLB. Let's learn what this problem is, and see if it's solvable, or if it even needs solving in the first place. Music Used: Gator Gambol - OMORI OST Price - Persona 5 OS...

    He hits 'em where they ain't, which will always result in success. I'm tired of the home run/power hitting stats being the driving force in baseball these days. The game was developed on the premise of moving a man 90 feet with each subsequent at-bat. Small ball works. Don't get me wrong; I'll take the homers when they come. I just don't want to rely on getting them when the game is on the line. Give me four guys who can hit around .300 rather than two guys who can hit 35 HR a year.

    I feel like the fact that he plays almost 50% less then the majority of other players means trying to compare his stats will always be a little skewed. While he less chances to buff his stats, he also has way less outings to negatively effect them.

    • @PlayertoBeNamedLater
      @PlayertoBeNamedLater Год назад

      That's actually a really interesting take! You might honestly be onto something since his numbers this year since he stopped playing the field and focused on hitting and staying healthy have been just kind of above average rather than groundbreaking. He has plenty of time to disprove you, but I actually find your view on this hella intriguing

    • @charpool169
      @charpool169 Год назад

      @@PlayertoBeNamedLater ya I don't really follow baseball much, more just watch videos about it but just the way in that stats work and how one at bat can have more of an impact statistically on someone with 100 total then someone even with only 50 more it goes from each at bat essentially being 1% total to each just being a fraction of that. Could also kinda argue that he gets more rest in between most outings and has less games to have to play tired or having played the day before for example. Just makes him an interesting case to look at in another way also ✌

    • @charpool169
      @charpool169 Год назад

      @@PlayertoBeNamedLater this also makes me think that there must be a player or two who statistically could be some of the best, but hardly anyone will know because they only had a handful of outings before getting injured or something so there 1 or 2 hits on 1 or 2 at bats means they technically have close to or perfect batting stats. Could potentially be a very interesting idea to look into for a future video ✌

    Hey! Really loved the video and content :) if I may make a small suggestion, you might want to add some varying background music of sound effects throughout the video. I often “watch” videos while doing other tasks like cooking, and there were multiple points when I thought the video had randomly stopped. Having music and audio cues can keep people engaged and let them know the video is still going when they’re looking away. Still though, great content! I’m looking forward to the next one
