    Hey Mr Snowflake, watch your mouth. Born and bred Philly Boy here. 60 years and still boppin these streets. I have 2 sons 35 and 39. They live in town. Im in the northeast, rolling with the punches. This citys main problem is its one sided political corruption, and radical left, Me ,Me, Me, believes and attitudes. GOD, FAMILY, COUNTRY. Do unto others as you would have done to you!!! Anything else, try another Country, your not looking for a new city to live. And if you are, what are you running from, or looking for

    Thanks for the honest video. The negatives you listed are pretty much the same in every major city so people who can't live with them should stay away from all major cities.

    The old alley streets are incredible to experience what the city must have felt like before the advent of cars.

    So when did Spring Garden become Logan Square? when did the art Museum end up in Spring Garden( Logan Square) That area is Fairmount I grew up in Fairmount and Boathouse row in Fairmount the Musem is Fairmount I love all this area you nailed it really is a great place to live.

    I feel like you chose the same neighborhood mostly, you just picked different sections of center city (other than Old City). I think No Libs more than meets your criteria, and has more of an enjoyable walking environment than both Washington Square or Logan Square and access to a couple of supermarkets as well as very close to Delaware River waterfront and an el stop. I also think Queen Village is great place and while they don't have supermarket per se in the neighborhood, it's much nicer to walk around there than several of neighborhoods you referenced.

    Philly as much as they hate to admit it, is a Pennsylvania city to its core. Even to the fact that living in the big city still feels like its a small town in some aspects. It doesnt feel ss commercial as NYC or DC either.

    Car free cities just mean the governments and corporations can rule you like a dictatorship. You are less likely to escape if you have no vehicle and the governments have all the vehicles and guns. You can't resist and/or escape when they go Big Brother is watching you. 😂

    Oakland can be a bit deceptive, especially downtown. I went and spent a weekend downtown recently just to get a feel for it and, while it had some redeeming quality’s and excellent “bones”, it is a bit more than rough around the edges. There are some gems, and it is walkable, but the experience was unpleasant (and that’s coming from someone who tries to live car free in LA). Plus, it just kind of felt like a ghost town in most areas. The fact that an area so dense and beautiful can rot away while SF, a short BART ride away, sits in an affordability and housing crisis is a such a shame. There’s so much potential, but it just isn’t it right now.

  • @pattycarljackson
    @pattycarljackson 21 день назад

    It’s disappointing seeing cities with high cost of living have great transit and walkability but affordable areas have crap transit and little walkability and forced to spend a ton of money on a car.

  • @vince14genius
    @vince14genius 21 день назад

    The problem with America is that all the nice walkable areas have sky high rents because we don’t build anything tall elsewhere. This in turn drives up homelessness, income inequality, and crime. Walkability is great but pointing to American cities that “have walkability” doesn’t change the fact that these cities are still miserable to live in because of high CoL, crime, and filth. I don’t see how America has a future at all.

    • @pattycarljackson
      @pattycarljackson 21 день назад

      More cities and towns are changing but they aren’t doing enough accept building more suburbs and not pushing for zoning changes. I do agree that americas future is not a bright one.

    Why would anyone move to a pedestrian city and complain about traffic? I want more congestion! I want the city to make it more uncomfortable for cars! I’m thrilled that the city is about to narrow car lanes on south broad street. And that many car lanes have been converted to bike lanes hope that someday cars are banned and trollies are everywhere. New York City is dirty. Center City is pretty clean.

    I lived in both cities. I grew up in West Oak Lane in Philadelphia and I used to live in the Marina district in SF. I work in Center City Philadelphia and I used to work in the Financial district in SF. I’ve seen the distressed Tenderloin district in SF and I’ve seen Kensington in Philadelphia. I rode on SEPTA and I rode on Muni/BART. SF is a glamorous woman to me but Philadelphia is the neighborhood woman who knows me best.😀

    The only safe parts of Philadelphia are Center City and Roxborough. It’s chaos everywhere else here. I’ve been a mailman in Kensington for 34 years and I’ve been robbed twice myself. There’s hardly no police and people shoot at will knowing that they’re not going to get caught . And people are riding those motor cycles and scooters are in and out of traffic and nobody is stopping them . People from all over the country move to Philadelphia for a year or two and then they’re out of here.
