went there last year and the resort was top class , the best food out of all the hotels , amazing staff, 5 star hotel for sure . this resort and royalton punta cana are one of the best resorts.

this is for white peoples as moroccan we know how to deal and get more for nothing…. we wasn’t educated a white chick just get feeded by burgers pasta and pizza 😂😂😂😂

Thanks for this. Agreed about the room upgrades and VIP type crap. I'll be shutting this stuff down quickly, especially the time share racket if they try to use my time. Giving PC a try but if I get harassed to much we'll be done and back to some other small islands who don't pull these stunts.

We went to Fantasia about 6 months after it 1st opened. The food was absolutely brilliant, they even had caviar which the children loved trying. The castle gets lit up at night with a moving display and music. One of the big complaints was after the show at night( if your there for 2 weeks it repeats) everything shuts down. The beach is gorgeous, usual seaweed problem but its kept under control. You can just grab a buggy and it takes no time at all to get there. Just remember to take enough suncream as its very exspensive on site. The rooms were lovely. The 2 problems we had was, every other day the pool would be shut down due to a child having an accident ( not fantasias fault). The other was on the swim up bar you end up swimming amoungst the plastic cups they serv the drinks in, as they blow back in the pool Be wairy of the market men that come in on an evening ( if they still do) they can be very aggressive in their selling. We got stitched up on a scorpion in a bit of plastic, we were told was a glass paper weight shoved in my grandsons hand, paid $50 just to get away from the man, it was actually plastic and worth about $5

Just came back, stayed at Lopesan. There are NO huts in Barcelo only a few palm trees. How is that ? Full exposure the entire time you are at the beach ? Nope. Book at Lopesan.

This place is not great, especially for english speakers. Most here do not speak english. You call for water, towels and su h for the room and it never comes, had to call like five times. Also they smoke everywhere here. Everywhere. Just move on this is not the place to go. I could go on, but why.

Does anybody know whether or not you can walk between the buildings and stay out of the sun if you have to? My fiancé has a skin condition and when we go to the grand sunset princess in playa, Del Carmen it has been excellent because were able to go from point a to point B by just walking through the building because of the way it’s built. It’s really nice. And then we’re able to go to the beach and get into the Palapas and avoid the sun.

Hi what you recommend for family of five all inclusive family hotel with water activity

There are plenty of negatives. Such as on weekends, it's filled with locals. I guess they need to fill the rooms for cheap. So if you enjoy a large loud crowd and a line at the buffet, this hotel is for you. Hotel needs major renovations. Beach is beautiful

Bahía principe Grand Bavaro is reaaaaally bad. Food is the worst. In 1 week could not find any good food. Some employees are not friendly and the entertainment is boring.

Ok so we were just at riu republica last week and here are my takeaways….on the plus side-1. the beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs on the beach and plenty of shade and room under the palms if you need to get out of the sun. 2. The jerk chicken stand by the beach is amazing!! 3. At The steak house, the meat sampler for 2 was delicious but the “sirloin of beef” at the Mexican restaurant “ole” was even better. The Asian restaurant was pretty good-get the chicken that is between the duck and spare ribs-very good! The main buffet was what I expected for a riu for breakfast and dinner. the property and room were clean..reading some of the other comments, my wife agreed that the beds were hard……here comes my biggest complaint, we were in the building at the polar opposite of the beach which is back behind the mango restaurant-there was an ice machine on every floor of our building- none of them worked… I went to the adjacent building and the 1st 3 of the ice machines I tried, were all broke as well….IT WASNT UNTIL I GOT TO THE 8th ICE MACHINE THAT I TRIED AND FOUND IT WORKING--that’s 1 in 8 ice machines that worked- Ridiculous!!!

Could you please recommend a great all-inclusive resort for active seniors? Maybe I shouldn't say active, but they like to go out for drinks and karaoke, and joke around with friends. They're not going to go to a gym. lol Thank you
