Hello, everyone! I am Octavius The Crafter and this is my channel. On this channel I make or fix things related to me. I fix my Expedition and tools, and right now I am in the process of making a Blacksmith shop for blacksmithing. I have and will probably will be doing carpentry, forging, mechanics, tool repair/restoration, woodworking, concrete, and outdoor skills. I hope to spread information and help people with my channel.
EPIC Blacksmithing Montage

Today we start a new project: A racing mower. We got the mower for fifty dollars and we have a bit of work to do. We had to get a battery and rewire a negative battery cable from the starter solenoid to the battery. We added a gas tank and a new spark plug.

I have an 01 Expedition. It's not the best but at least the hubcaps don't fall off and I don't have to punch the dashboard to get the car to start.

There is a lil bit of a sound change but it's not huge I think that if u would change the exhaust from 2 inch to 3 inch plus cherry bomb it probably would sound way better but just an option 4 a 4 banger it sounds ok nice job.

Yes the key had to be in the "ON" position. If you do not have the key in, it will still crank the engine but not start it.
Right behind this GREEN bolt, its corroded thats why its green, and why mention the starter in that way when it has nothing to do with the battery negative cable installation, that just confuse people... Simply follow the old cable wires disconnect them & reconnect the new wires same exact place, DONE!!!

This is honestly kind of cringe. Especially the part where you quench stock rebar and then pretend like that's some spectacular achievement. You also didn't show any finished product or identifiable end goal. But I like your forge and as a metallurgy student it reminds me of my beginnings so take the like.
Yeah it's not really meant to shown to other blacksmiths. I made it for a video class I'm at. I made it just to kind of show the different parts of blacksmithing and stuff. How do you plan on doing some more actual forging videos of. Me màking stuff
It's also too cold and you could have firewelded as that's like the best bit of smithing for videos and pictures

@@octaviusthecrafter depends how you've learned If you are self taught might be more awkward to try it but I'm sure there are plenty of tutorials on RUclips but you don't need borax you can use anything with a high silica content and a high melting point like some kinda of sand

I would get a section of double wall stove pipe for the point where it goes through the wall.
Sounds like a decent idea the metal on the wall doesn't actually get that hot. That's why I put a little sheet of metal to dissipate heat.
