Homeless in Cape Town
Южно-Африканская Республика
Добавлен 28 дек 2023
This channel was created to produce a mouthpiece for the more than 14 000 homeless people in the greater Cape Town area. Conversations are had with these often unheard from members of our society as we seek to understand how their situations have become so that they are living on the streets. This is a labour of love that attempts to expose certain systemic issues our society is plagued with and in turn finds answers from listening to others' stories about how to overcome them.

#01 Homeless in Cape Town: Meet Michael
This woman is stating facts. The poor, homeless and elderly are being run over by so called "caring" facilities, who openly only want money, or they don't help. It is not only capetown, it is all over. Sad but true😢. This is a shame to say the least.
Homelessness is a political issue that is easily resolved. There is no desire at government level to fix the problem because what would they gain by having everyone housed and living comfortably?
This man deserves better😢
If you're having a alcoholic problem on the streets, your things will get stolen. Most people always tell only half a story. Repent and come to Jesus. Get involved in a church that preaches righteousness.
Stop removing my comments
If you think your Race is Superior... Morons ... then dont abuse your people at the robots... pick them up and uplift them ... We Are All One
Get these people of the streets ... put into shelters ... counseling and rehabilitation to be intergrated back into society to contribute to the economy positively... standing at the robots and being abused by Narcs of Society is no longer an option ... anyone abusing these people standing and asking at the robots shall be dealt with by a swift hand of GOD .. 🙏🫶✨️
*Matthew 22:39* _And the second (referring to the great commandments of which there are only two) is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself._ God ... expects you/us to intervene! He doesn't expect you/us to sit back writing comments on RUclips and do nothing! I live 5,985.10 mi (9,632.08 km) from Cape Town. What can you do for this man?
FIND JESUS,MY SISTER ❤🙏🏼 AND ALL YOUR PROBLEMS WILL BE OVER‼️ ...HES THE WAY ,THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE ✝️..THIS WORLD IS EVIL AND HE IS THE ONLY PROTECTION AGAINST THE EVIL FORCES 🙌🏼🙏🏼💯ALL PRAISE TO HIM ‼️
Human power is of no use. Gods spirit that gives life
I can confirm that these none profit organizations are just a front I worked for Teen challenge omw, people would donate food clothes and the staff that worked there would take it home, I had the girls coming to me asking me for food who were staying there. It's disgusting, saw it with Epilepsy SA too disgusting
The reporter is excellent - she is interviewing people in our society who needs to be heard and helped - our government is surely trying but our high unemployment figure will cripple any democratic governing system!
The organization who delivers the shower service is UTurn, they are a fabulous organization looking after the homeless
One wants to help but most of the homeless are into drugs,so how do you choose who to help. Listening to her being "spiked" with heroin sounds like a dodgy excuse. If you have ever had a child who has done drugs, you get hardened by the lies.
She can get help from The womans Ark in Eersterivier its a church based homeless shelter and i know people who run the place they are so wonderful always willing to help the poor and homeless.
I read the comments to feel the there are still kind people out there, thank you to the lady who creates these videos and to all of you who watches and cares. You restored my faith in humanity. I try to help like I sure many people do, but individually one can only do so much. Us kind souls should come together and try to help. Not a hand out a hands up. 'If you feel pain you are alive, if you feel someone else's pain your a human being'
Speak to Minister Gayton Mckenzie, He hs the best Minister, maybe he can open up a path for you and many more.
This is clearly an intelligent woman and everything she is saying is the absolute TRUTH. The SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT IS A MAFIA, A CRIMINAL GROUP OF THUGS, A TOTAL DISGRACE!!
There are a few guys with caravans in Sea Point who park inconspicuously on beach Road. Maybe he should come this side and they can help each other. I saw one at Saunders and one on beach Road close to the public toilets. I think it’s much safer.
The Social Services do not give a damn and the same goes for the Churches!!!!
It is tough and it gets tougher. 😢
This lady knows wat she is talking about ..were must people find jobs if government does not provide them .God help us all in this country 🙏
Tragic story💔Are there no shelters where this man can stay?
How may I contact her? I want to help.
She usually sits in front of the Mochachos at 2 Three Anchor Bay Rd, Three Anchor Bay, Cape Town, 8005. Or you can contact her via her boyfriend Rudie who has a cell phone. They usually see each other after 4pm daily. Here is his number: 0660 707 328
VERY INTELLIGENT LADY THIS!!! I pray that GOD intervenes and help these poor people🙏🕊️🤍🙏
This is the problem .. when a woman raises her voice against abuse and abuse and ABUSE, she has ATTITUDE! If you DON'T have attitude, you get Beaten and smashed up until you GIVE attitude!!😡🤬😡 PROTECT the HOMELESS and especially WOMEN and CHILDREN! This is HEARTBREAKING 💔💔
I pray that this lady can be helped with a job opportunity and a safe place to stay🙏🏻 this is why I will never donate to these npo and ngo or others, I rather give it directly into the hands of the people themselves.
this is exactly the truth these shelters are corrupt and these animal shelters are just as corrupt and their is no oversite on these places. the stuff do not go to the poor most definitley not and it happens everywhere even the private NGOs on the take big time they get thousands of rands from overseas sponsers and the children, animals and homeless see nothing of it
Shelters??? Churches??? I believe this lady.
I believe her
Let’s try get her a job by posting on Facebook, along with her qualifications!
I wish you all the best and that you get off the streets. May the Lord change your life with this video
The only way to help tis lady is to get on board nd start a decent shelter/home with her as member of board
She must call her daughter
She must come to The Trauma Centre, 126 Chapel Street, Woodstock
Good information !!!
If I had money I would love to get a place for all of the good people on the streets. You have a lovely personality. Intelegent and behave so good friendly and good manners. It is heartbroken to see this in South Africa. We definitely are not looking after the street people. That is not of free choice. For all people. Some want to stay on the streets yes but you do get well behaved and good people, on the streets. I really feel sad for all the good people. I hope things can change in our country.
So 😔
If you don't know that Most charities in South Africa are a scam then you are still innocent and naive. I can name 10 charities right now that have millions in donations but they aren't even a real charity or even registered.
Few will understand this
Godbless you Sir❤
this is not a true representation .... I walk this route 4 times a week ....these guys ,I have never seen ......this is totally false !
They were part of the Shell Mouillie Point eviction about 6 months ago. Have probably moved on by now.
Can you contact me..I have s special lady that I know of..she is also homeless and lives in her car. I would love you to interview her as well. Please
Hi there oh would be so great to chat to her! Please email us: homelessincapetown@yahoo.com
God will make away my bother 15:47
Bless this amazing women. Shes a real talker. Goverment plz help this lady. Give her a chance in life
I spent 20 years Detective and am a resigned commissioned officer and would like to know where he was stationed and with which rank he retired from SAPS and when?
Why would you like to know that? Please send me a mail then I can forward Deon's cell number then you can ask him directly: homelessincapetown@yahoo.com
I feel compassion for her and agree that the lack of care about the homelessness in Cape Town by the municipality needs attention. However, no judgement, but what she says about not wanting to reach out to her children who appear to be in a position to help, does not make sense. Why sleep on the streets if your children may be able to help. Life is difficult enough as it is, her children are adults now. Charity begins at home, that should be our first point of call. Why expect of the man on the street/community/world but not of your own flesh and blood. There's a big chance her children will find out on social media. How is that less hurtful than reaching out privately? This interview has a few agendas, some of them hidden.
We went to visit Deon yesterday but he was not available due to other commitments. We did however leave a parcel at the thirsty oyster for him to collect. Deon msged me yesterday and confirmed collection. We are planning to visit him this weekend again because my kids really wants to meet him and offer him more blessings. If anyone else would like to contribute some food or whatever please let know and we can arrange that I collect it from you to take to Deon or if anyone would like to join and come with to pay him a visit please do so! The more the merrier!
That is SO wonderful to hear thank you for your kindness!! 🙏💚 If anyone wants to contribute or join Duane on 26 or 27 October 2024 please reach out to Duane by commenting on this video or emailing me on homelessincapetown@yahoo.com.
Bless your heart
Hi Duan, please encourage him to visit the Gordans Bay Security company or any other security company in the bay. They might be able to assist him with a job as a security guard, seeing that he was a police officer.
What a shame at his age of life to come to this because of covid
God has blessed CapeTown...and now He's watxhing what they do with that blessing. He's watchimg how you treat the poor and the needy. Don't think he will be quiet for too long. Repent.
This lady is not stupid....she is well spoken...calls a spade a spade...I really admire her calling out the City Council and taking JP Smith to task....he is just wind...looking after the rich friends....and really feels nothing for the homeless....supplying 359 beds is far too little and there are thousands who need a roof and basic comforts ..yes I hope that she can get a job and do good for others by speaking on their behalf
