My only answer is: If a string break, I put a new string on. (I’ve never broken a string on a gig, during my 25 years on the road with that grand-guitar.)

Hi, David. Well, the scale length is from G subcontra octave up to c in forth octave, depending on the tuning system. The mensur on the 7-stringed part (saddle to bridge) is 21'21''. My grand-was custom made in the early 90s, in commission by me. My "main ax" since -98. I have released a bunch of solo albums, my music based on that guitar, with Morgan Ågren, Steve Hunt etc in the line-up. Robert

Hi ... No, it’s is not a pickup. It’s a hole after the neck pickup. I removed that pickup years ago. Why? Because I used that pickup less and less over the years, to finally not using the neck pickup at all. And by removing that pickup, I got rid of some ot the hum in the out signal (passive pickups), hence the pickups where so tightly positioned to each other - and they are so big. But! I talked to the luthier, not long ago, who made my guitar in the 90s. The plan is to "fill" that hole, and extend the fretboard - next year or so. By doin‘ this, I can reach up to the ’double high c’, as the highest c on a grand piano. "No problem", the luthier said. And that octave will be very useful, especially when I’ll work on music by Arvo Pärt in a few years from now. But first thing first; working on my next solo project: six albums with my grand guitar and symphonic arrangement. Planned release .... 2027? 2028?
