I don't think I've ever been this excited for a new release before. Going to wait until later to listen so I can listen to it from beginning to end without stopping.
Thanks man - really. Your words warms my heart. Hm ... I have plans - or rather considerations - to someday make an concert album of Gautigoths; you know, to play the whole suite in front of on audience in a big hall. Time will tell. The link to Bandcamp -> Gautigoths and my other albums. robertritchiesse.bandcamp.com/album/gautigoths-grand-guitar-suite?fbclid=IwAR2nxdqwiORzd96rhgkJi2wfUtI02Rp5KneEOk9b-i9a8rw83HYkKxlzREs Thanks again =)
@@robertritchiesse you are tuned to A432hz instead of the more widely used A440hz. The first song (at least) is tuned to 432, the first F note harmonic being a reference tuning point
@@bassheadjazz2708 Oh, that was just an .... "ops"-factor discovered after the sessions. A lot of changing string - every 3d hour or so. Yeah, the first song happened to be tuned ≈ 6-8 cent lower. Well, after I discovered that, I figured I could live with that. A good take but a little bit "corny" tuned this way is way more ’better’ then ... the other way around. The guitars and bass on the Allan Holdsworth I.O.U. -album is ’tuned’ in ≈ 442 hz or so. Some of the movement on Gautigoths are tuned in perfect 440 hz, some are ≈ 436, and the first movement are the most "dissonant"/deviant with ≈ 8 cent. I found it ... interesting and still good enough. To me, it’s like the music - or the grand guitar - is more "alive" because of this. Well, I let it slide this time. You most certainly have a good music ear. I’m impressed. Hey - one more solo album release in May, b t w ;) (Not here, but on Spotify, Bandcamp, Deezer, Tidal etc etc) Robert
@@robertritchiesse it definitely sounds amazing intentional or not, my pitch isn't good enough to notice without a reference instrument in hand, but it feels a bit "warmer" tuned slightly flat. Very deep album, well worth the wait!

Just masterful. Have listened through four times now and don't know when I'll be stopping.

Robert, what is your thinking behind tuning to 432 for this album?
Huh? 432 what? ... I don‘t follow.
