I'm super dubious of the idea that Elestrals is meant to fix Yugioh. The only things it has in common are the face down trap card runes and the fact units exist in either attack or defense mode. Meanwhile the game is made by an ex pokemon player, it's got pokemon adjacent art, spirits are most similar to energy, the elestrals evolve like pokemon, the player damage being different from unit damage is most similar to prize cards, the game is just clearly pokemon more than it could possibly be yugioh.

fixing yugioh just means INTRODUCING THE YUGIOH RUSH DUELS. it’s so much better and I will never get to play it here… full arts? levels that don’t make you manually count them at first… costs and effects properly lined out?

Yugioh becoming such a badly designed and warped game so that these labels barely even matter. Compared to another card game like hearthstone or magic, where they actually mean something. How can a deck in Yu-Gi-Oh even be "midrange", what cost range are you in the middle of? Special summons per turn? Because that's what midrange means in those other games. You're not aiming for some long term late game win (because nothing about yugiohs gamestate inherently changed by letting the game go on longer unless you plan to mill your opponent to death... Which is normally accomplished through a combo of mill effects in quick succession anyway so not exactly "control" And it's not like you're going for a distinctively quick low cost low to the ground strat either because... Every strat in Yu-Gi-Oh is always trying to go as fast as it can all the time anyway. The monotony of yugioh playstyles just all being different ways to get to the same three win cons (overwhelming damage, negates, floodgates). This is why distinctions like summon type focus actually tell you something about a deck. If only which method it will be using to try and create one or more of the three above things.

I would love Elestrals to follow down Yu-Gi-Oh path down to a T. Same terrfying cards and brokeness. I want that maxx C clone to be real one day

90% of the text on a card is just some irrelevant BS, and the actual effect is like a sentence or two. The only good thing about master duel is it highlights the specific portion that is activated, so you don't have to read card you don't know. The best way for them to fix yugioh is to limit all extra deck monsters to 1. There is absolutely no reason why if you get stopped mid combo you get to retry on the next turn, or in most cases your opponents turn. I play Salamangreats, and even though their link monsters are meant to summon the same one using the same monster, it's stupid. Others like Sky Striker are even worse. Oh, you managed to put a monster on the board? Shocking, here's a whole extra deck that only requires one monster, and don't worry you have access to every spell and trap in your deck whenever you want. Or Purrely... hey geuss what? We didn't even bother limiting your stuff to once per turn.

Combo as an archetype in an mtg context means you are comboing for game, not playing any series of cards with synergy. Building a board, breaking a board, establishing recursions, drawing cards - none of that makes you a "combo" deck in that sense, no matter how convoluted the process. Think DMOC + Mass Driver, or Exodia. Combo is supposed to WIN, not establish 2 negates and follow up or whatever. (I will concede this line gets very blurry when the end board completely prevents counterplay and gives lethal on the following turn) Control is about winning the value game in the long run. Stun cards are about diminishing your opponent's tempo game. Control decks will often play some number of stun cards, so that aggro decks can't just go under them before they stabilize. A critical mass of stun cards can reduce your opponent's tempo to nothing: what we might call a floodgate deck, in mtg they call a prison deck. This is fundamentally different - the goal is to stop your opponent from playing cards, not play through them - where control has answers, prison is trying to avoid the questions altogether. Bonus: Aggro decks are decks that play fast threats, tempo good. Control decks are decks that play effiecient cards, value good. Midrange decks are decks that play enough value to try to grind aggro and enough tempo to try to overwhelm control. Nothing at all to do inherently with mana or game actions per turn or any of the other weird ways you'll hear people define it. Aggro decks also often try to play grindy against aggro and fast against control, so there's a blurry line there too, but whatever. Thanks for doing yugioh archetype analysis. It's crazy how far it feels like we are from systemic understanding of even such a simple question as "what kinds of decks are there in yugioh?" but this is how we get there.

Do you approve of your entire video in full being watched on a stream by farfa, recorded as content, and reposted on his highlight channel? Did he ask permission? Would that matter to you? Should he do it before or after he posts the reupload? Does it matter that he played the whole thing and paused occasionally to restate what you would say 30 seconds later if he didn't pause, do you think that constitutes fair use? Does it matter that he said go check you out, do you value the plug? I'm anti-react content, so genuinely curious about how it affects or bothers you if it does. I've watched your video twice, before watching his, just to see if he actually added value, I don't personally think he said anything you didn't say, but his is 8 minutes longer, and contains all the work you did and would not exist if you hadn't made it first, and the thought of "his video" getting more views than yours genuinely would bother me, not that his has yet, but yours has 9000 views in 3 weeks, and his has 2500, in like 2 hours, and I'm pretty sure in the time it took me to write this and watch both videos, including yours twice he picked up 700 more views.

one important thing if i would play this game: where i can find a free automatized simulator of this tcg? because even if it should be better than yu gi oh, it's still a competitive game and for me the best way to learn and play a competitive tcg is with an automatized simulator, maybe on computer

Experience true back and forth duel! No more solitaire, No more bricking! FAQ: Q: What if I'm FTKd? A: You can just run Hanewata or other handtraps to prevent this in the first place. Q: Wouldn't the opponent use Called by on your Hand Trap more easily? A: Well you can always Belle, Herald Green, Psy-Frame, etc. Q: Would certain hand information card like Aqua Dolphin very busted? A: Might be, but since you have your entire deck in your Hand, you can try to stop it. Q: Wouldn't Red Reboot, or similar cards that prevents your opponent from activating cards entirely be busted? A: Yes, an additional banlist would be required.

Yugioh with no soul and a crappy pokemon ripoff art style. It's like new age tcg makers can't learn. You can't make yugioh without the 90s dnd anime aesthetic. Wheres the trapezoid eyes with serious expressions? Where's the spiral armor trim pattern and slender model proportions? Where's the simultaneously feminine and ridiculously jacked knight elves? Where's the edgy skarmory dragons? Where are the giant tits? No face paint? no bdsm jester outfits?

its got a good foundation learning from previous TCGS but they need to build up their ip/art and it needs a good online simulator

I say remove the starting hand

As much as i hate on YGO the past 3 years it's still my favorite game and the art on elestrals is kind of doodoo-water tbh. Branded lore alone trashes most other tcg in terms of artwork, with some exceptions like cardgames based on anime(Digimon/One Piece) and some mtg cards(vorinclex is my bae). Tcg that rely on waifus only need not apply that sh*t's cringe af. At least in terms of artwork variety Yugioh is perfectly balanced, if only the same could be said about the gameplay.

I find it funny that the people who supposedly want to fix yugioh want to turn it into an mtg clone or put a resource system that artificially lengthens the games or add it keywords supposedly thinking that this way it would be much easier to read the cards but what they would end up causing would be the inclusion of thousands if not tens of thousands of keywords by the way all those people are nothing more than stupid nostalgiafags who should not be listened to the same for people who complain about the text of modern cards which they are unable to read because the mental capacity of everyone is equivalent to half a brain cell but seriously if they want to improve the text of the cards so much they should demand that konami change the text layout of the cards to that of ocg which is much better and by the way demand that the cards and products have the same quality and price as those of ocg

Yeah I tried giving it a go but I don’t think anyone else knows how to download it on iOS The tutorial is also bad so much so it makes master duel look competent The AI needs added soon I tried playing that but the mode looked like dueling book and whike it would be good with experience it would help if I knew what that did

Dont get me to talk about strikers. Its my favorite deck andni swear if the support from magnificent mavens except for linkage were any good it couldve been a good go 2nd option again. If the Surgical striker hamp just didint need you have a striker it would already be worlds better. If the new Cyanos did have the lock on the 2nd eff he also would be so much better and not end your turn immediately if it gets stopped

I hate that Sakuretsu Armor and Dimensional Prison were changed to targeting the attacking monster. What's the fucking point in that? Crush Card and Ring of Destruction got the worst errata. It made them weak as fuck.

This is why I refuse to play yugioh anymore. I want my cards to do what they do.
