Good video, like!
Love the rythum
What size do I drill the firewall to for the ac retrofit on my 85 pickup?
What AC sistem you have inside the cab? For more airflow
Did you eliminate the factory drier?
Yes. The new condenser has an integrated drier, so there is no reason to keep the original one.
@@retro_88yota i was wondering if there was any more performance to be had with two driers
@@ethandevonshire9554 I asked a guy who has a business that only does automotive HVAC work and he told me there is no reason to have 2 driers.
@@retro_88yota when i get my ac going again, im going to run a new condenser but also keep my factory aux condenser that the 4runners have and run a series of small electric fans to keep air going through
How the heck did you figure this out? And is it easier to get the parts?
Lots of research, and yes.
What zinc additive would you recommend?
Info goldmine. Thank you!!!!!
Pretty awesome
Who did the swap
I did the swap
Very cool. How did you get your hands on that engine? What did t cost you?
I bought it from a junkyard that was down in Mississippi. it was around $2500 for the engine if I remember correctly.
That’s really cool! Did not expect to see that under the hood. How does it drive?
It drives great. With the extra power it just cruises down the highway, and it's so much more refined than the old 22re was.
@@retro_88yota I bet, that’s no comparison between the two. A modern power plant really lets you enjoy these older rigs. That is one sweet rig!
Can you tell me what’s is the part number on the harnes
Do you have that bracket for sale?
I see you have the secondary air injection switching valve venting to atmosphere, have you had any issues with that?
nope. however that is hooked up now, as the check engine light being on all the time was getting annoying.
I had an 81 yellow Tercel, 4 door. It was a great car and ran in the deep snow very well. Wish I still had one
I have a 88 pick.up . Mu high side is too high. Send me link on where u bought ur condenser
Okay so question, so i have a non ac truck and im installing everything new , i add oil into the new compressor and the vacuum it or do i add oil to the evap, conden, drier, etc… and then vacuum ?
Where are u located?
Old Missouri Toyota trucks are a rare breed these days 👍
I don’t know why they put the oil filter there 🙄
I had to pay 500$ for a 22r ecm
I’m about to do this swap into my 86. Have the donor truck ready just waiting on my 7mge to blow up. Do you have anymore info on the wiring?
Got yourself a runner👍
Id like to put this in my 1980 Mercedes 240d manual.
Yeah I think the 2TR is way too big for what I want to do, have to stick with 2AR. That is a really cool swap tho!
friend, at minute 4;50 that piece you grab is in charge of regulating when the compressor turns on, if at low RPM or high RPM, I want to know its price to have an idea of how much it costs
Can u let me know what exactly u bought to put ac on ur truck. I have a 93 that I want to put ac in it’ll be highly appreciated
Can you also share a link for the parallel flow condenser? Im only finding 'universal' ones. Yours looks like it has the OEM-style fittings.
Where can i get replacement hoses for the low and high sides of the condenser? And i also need the hard line that runs from the dryer to the firewall. Thx!
Rockauto has the suction line and discharge hose for the compressor. The liquid line that goes from the drier to the evaporator is obsolete and will have to be sourced used.
can you leave a link for the condensor you got? @Patrick Kissman
Yes please share link for condenser
Nice job. I’m glad we got an update.
I just watched this 5+ times ... so cool seeing the diffs/leafs etc working in slow motion
It was a lot of fun haha
And do you know what size of battery it needs
Did you have any electric issues
That wire is cut on mine as well. I don't have any other cut wires and nothing else it could connect too. It seem s like it's just long enough to go to the battery, is it safe to wire directly to the battery?
Nice job, but what a rats nest of wires. I'll stick withy close to bullet proof 22re. That's fully built.
Thank You
Cool deal man! I'm going to put a 08 2.7 in my 82 soon and your video gives me hope haha!
Same I have a pristine 81 and am 08 2tr
My grandmother had this same Huffy mower. She also had a 19 inch Sycamore with the same staggered wheel design. I still have the Sycamore and use it for trimming.
Do you have the part number of the retrofit ports?
Do u have a extra overdrive solenoid, for 94 Toyota pickup automatic transmission? It sits on the driverside of the transmission
Any interest in selling?
Bad mechanic. Never had mine leak.
What’s the vacuum line diagram? And fuse set diagram?
Hey man. Do you by any chance still have the sears LT-10 36?
That's what annoys me about my 22RE is it doesn't make any noise whatsoever and ran beautiful when it was running I just don't get why it would run one minute shut it off let it sit overnight and then not start the next morning and I have fuel coming out of the cold start injector and it has spark only thing I can think is maybe the mass airflow sensors going bad sending false signals to the computer telling it something's messed up I don't know time for four cylinder diesel or inline 4.0 Jeep motor if I had cash I would pay somebody to just build me a badass Toyota 22RE motor with a turbo on it or at least something would more than 80 horsepower to move my 35s LOL I do love that and you know it has been very good since I have known that truck for wow almost 20 years now
Quick question if you can help I have the 86 Toyota 4Runner 22R-E fuel injected and it used to being automatic converted to a manual so it doesn't have certain relays where a normal automatic would under the hood but. I drove it home from work a month ago or so now and it was running good when I parked it I went out to start it the next morning to leave and it would not start. Now with that being said it seemed to kind of be giving me a little bit of issues here and there as the weather was getting colder well I had been driving it. I have checked a whole bunch of stuff. I checked the cold start injector timer switch swapped it out with a good used one checked the fuel in injector on the manifold and cleaned it as well I have put new cap rotor plugs wires fuel filter fuel pump I am just not sure where to go anymore and I really need this running. It is driving me nuts because it ran good when I parked it there but now it's not i also check the relay under the passenger kick panel to make sure it was clicking to turn the fuel pump on when you turn the key over I even tried a different computer. I am at a loss here if I hold my foot to the floor it will sound like it wants to start but it won't which is odd being fuel injected thought lines may been frozen but they pump gas but I don't know the pressure there putting out but it should at least start with starting fluid right. I was wondering if you think this may be or could be a timing chain issue or what else it could possibly be I have been telling everybody if you can help me figure out what it is I will send you $100 cash money no joke send me ur address and I'll send the card. because right now it is just sitting in my driveway costing me insurance grief and everything in between and it's very hard to plow around its on the road and I need as it's very hard with one car and it does have like 210,000 miles on it.But whenever it was warmer out it seemed to run better would give me a hard time starting now and then but would always start. Now that the weather is getting colder and is cold here in upstate New York it will not run at all I even have a heater that I tried running underneath of it for hours and didn't seem to do nothing but it's odd because it has spark it has fuel and even if you spray starting fluid in it it will not take off sorry for the long introduction just wanted to give as much information as I could anyone can please help I have no problems throwing money at a part I know will fix it and if it fixes it I hold my word I'm sending you cash for helping diagnosing it. Also it seems like once it started getting colder the check engine light would start coming on as I was driving down the road and it would feel like it would lose power and if I just turn the key off and back on the check engine light would go out but not gain all its power back. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated and I willing to check everything that anybody can give me ideas to check and I will give back whatever knowledge I can towards your suggestion or any questions you may have of what else I may have tried please some one help I love it I don't want to sell it. I would be willing to put a motor in it if I could find one but honestly I think I would want to put a 4.0 inline 6 in it
Have you looked at your AFM (Air Flow Meter)?
This video is hilarious dude we all experience that low idle paranoia 😂
That's a sweet tractor! That exhaust manifold was typically used on Yazoo mowers. possibly other things as well.
