Hi! I'm Kathryn Chanel, founder of Kathryn Chanel Pilates ✨ I am a comprehensively trained Pilates Instructor and Fitness Coach in beautiful San Diego, Ca. I have always had a passion for movement and hope to inspire others with my videos to find their favorite form of movement also! Pilates teaches you how to engage and use your core, it strengthens big and small muscle groups, and adjusts alignment throughout the body, all while gaining mobility and flexibility.

Such wonderful positioning cues & describing what’s going on and why it’s helpful. As a beginner I find it really helpful. Also your slightly oblique camera angle was helpful to see foot position (sometimes trainer videos are directly side view so it’s hard to see things like angles of feet in a V.

Really dislike the newbie-mistake laughing but I do like the rest of the helpful content.
@@nannetteaustin2308 it was funny because I was clearly exaggerating, plus I had someone filming me and I’m very shy in front of a camera so more of an awkward laugh. Also, a way to encourage people not to take Pilates too serious. Try watching some of my others, I in no way am perfect in my own practice.. find humor where you can 🤍
Don't know why but it is unnerving to see this instructor laugh at a newbie mistake.
@@nannetteaustin2308 it’s not a “newbie” mistake, it’s a human one. We all do it.. Im here to try to remind people not to and maybe laugh a little. Please stop commenting unnecessarily on my page. & keep those shoulders down 😉
This was great, I loved switching it up. Also how you do the breathing, it helps me keep that straight because sometimes I get confused one when I should be breathing in/out.

Did we do mermaid for the second side? This was a great stretch video, thank you🌺and I like that it was 17 min. that’s all the time I had this morning.

What are benefits or purpose of having arches on footbar as oppoed to heels?
Hi there ! Different foot placements fire up different parts of the posterior chain. Arches have more surface area so more control as opposed to heels which is a smaller surface area and requires more glute and hamstring engagement to control the bridge. Hope this helps ! 😄
