I went to the charity shops and I bought...
Welcome to another chatty collective thrift haul. In this video I'm talking through some of the secondhand bits I've gathered from charity shops and car boot sales over the last 5 months. Lots of this stuff was purchased with future craft projects in mind and there's also some ready-made homeware and clothing bits too. Hope you enjoy! emily x

the house that charity shops built 🏡 my full (half-finished) flat tour ft. 4 years of diy progress
Просмотров 15 тыс.2 месяца назад
Join me on a tour around my partly-finished, 2 bedroom Victorian flat. I've spent the last four years slowly renovating, decorating and turning this space into a dreamy little hole where I feel safe and inspired. Even though it's slightly chaotic and not quite finished, I love my home and hopefully you'll like at least some part of it too... if you do or if you don't let me know in the comments...

I re-organised and re-styled the room, and painted my first ever wall mural. Watch to see the entire process and final room reveal at the end. my first youtube haul - secondhand/thrifted fashion & homeware (not for an actual baby)
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.5 месяцев назад
First rule of filmmaking - always open with a close-up shot of your knees. Today I'm doing a lil "show & tell", chatting about some of the recent secondhand bargains I've found on eBay and in my local charity shops, including clothing items, homewares and fun bits for future craft projects. p.s. apologies that I spend so much of this video staring at myself in the viewfinder... I promise to try...

Hi I’m a new subscriber and just wanted to say you’re adorable and funny and even though I came for the big makeovers, one thing aI like about your content is you don’t rush through stuff. I like hearing your thought process so would love to see in depth vids about smaller crafty projects :))
Your stripey jumper is from Brittany in France. Armorica is the old name for Brittany and tricots just means knits in French. Good score!
So excited for all these future content ideas!!!!
I love your videoooooosssssss
I have the same cat ring holder. The HOME letters might look fun in the dolls house? 1 in each room. Dunno. I love a dolls house and the furniture is cool. I liked the dresses, the jumper and the Demonic Dolphins.
This is an art attack, THIS is an art attack. THIS. IS. ART ATTACK!!
Okay this just came up on my feed and honestly how am I meant to resist anything charity shop? So now I'm subscribed and looking forward to seeing your cat on their brand new bed ❤❤❤
Very interested in the doll house and cat bed projects. Btw, try your best to ignore the unsolicited negative feedback. Keep trusting your gut and ignore the haters. I love your humor and sense of style. You can’t please em all.
Paint the Welsh dresser and make little plates with scrolly gold pen patterns on them….😊
Love your channel- excited about paper mache videos and craft videos and don’t mind them being separate from the makeover videos! Love the makeover videos too of course!
You really should not start the video complaining about views, it's quite a turn off tbh. That said cute haul.
I didn't hear it as a complaint, more a comment on 'life at the moment'... Which is surely totally fair on your own channel?
What an absolute bargain that dollhouse was!!! Great vlog 🙂⭐🌼
I'm obsessed with the cat bed. I keep trying to snag similar on FB marketplace here but hasn't happened quite yet.
Obsessed with dollhouse and the cat bed. Can't wait to see what you do with them! Also I have no idea what you're talking about, Phoebe is a fashion ICON.
Great goodies! Clothing is awesome & suits you! Love your quirky content and fun personality! ❤😊
You could attach the "HOME" to the top of the dollhouse.
Just stumbled across your channel , subscribed straight away ❤
Love this!
I'm not into the world of hauls but I was very entertained watching yours. I was given one of those cat ring holders for Christmas one year - I guess late 70s or early 80s. It had a pink bow on the tail and I felt very posh owning it. 😁🇵🇸
I love the sound of one with a pink bowl on the tail! thank you for the lovely comment 🍉😺
I hope you were equally horrified at the slaughter of the October 7 attacks, that triggered the war, not a genocide. I was gonna watch this video, but I don't want to support someone who sides with Hamas. You should be ashamed of yourself. Hamas went door to door, killing whole families, killing all those people at that music festival and kidnapped hundreds of others. Why do those lives mean nothing to people like you.
Great to see a fellow Phoebe Buffet hater 🤠
Obsessed with the wool blanket!
DUCK YEAH NEW BEIGE FLANNEL LETS GOOOO
The best eclectic thrift haul I’ve seen (looooove the dollhouse)
thank you!
found your channel today and i’m hooked hahah you’ve inspired me to upcycle old things to decorate my room ❤️❤️
yay do it!
Great chazza haul - loadsa lovely stuff! For me the winner - hands down - is the Welsh blanket. It's absolutely bloody phenomenal!! 🏴🧡🏴
Enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Love everything except the "moist " painting 😢
Really lovely video, such great work you did, I do not enjoy any sanding either ;D cheers
I’m not even usually a fan of “shorts”, but I gotta hand it to you, this was a true gem all around! 💎 The modeling montage had me cracking up! It reminded me of silly times spent with my sister/best friend (who has recently moved away 😢)-the world needs more of this energy! Cheers to you girl,🍻that knit 🧶 vest is absolutely adorable on you! I hope to level up my DIY skills to have 1 of my own someday, or perhaps just meet a cool, crafty pal who could hook me up lol 😆…Anyway, thanks so much for the laughs & creative inspiration! 🌸🍬💚
I love the sign in your background :) quick subscribe
You are SO creative and inspirational… definitely my favourite you tube channel 🙌🏼
Your channel is pure joy and candy for the eyes, I'm SO glad the algorithm sent me here!! 💜 I adore your thoughtful and fun process, and your celebration of second-hand and self-made decor! Your style feels so cozy, and the stories behind your choices made everything feel so special. Immediately subscribed and looking forward to watching more of your vids. Best hour-long video I've ever watched on this platform 😁🫶🏻
Very informative, very well done.
This was so entertaining. It gives me an unsettling/interesting vibe and once it was completed, reminded me of the room Elisabeth Fritzl was held captive in. Sorry if that paints a bad picture but it's just such an interesting design.
Emily, I love your editorial, granny style. New subscriber. Was wondering if you also DIY'ed that pink chair? I absolutely love it!
Thank you! 🎀 yes I made the chair a couple of years ago from a different chair and an old bedspread
I think that you should've painted some of the art frames. They fall a little flat in the end because the white frames are blending into the wall.
24:50 “C’est la vie… oohhh shit.” Is very relatable and deserves to be framed 😂
Yay to granny’s venetian gargoyle over door!
Makes me want to update my bathroom!!!
You came up on my Saturday morning feed, and i was like sure why not. Then I saw your sign against the genocide and subscribed immediately. And yes, I love your design style too. Thanks!
same here!!
love it
You could always use that pink glass vase as your toilet brush holder. You could just spray a quick mirror film on the inside, so you don’t see in it or even paint it! ❤❤
I mean, now I have to find a coffee cup! 😂
okay i had to pause to comment because as soon as you went into your art room and panned around to the blanket chair, i was like. !!! i watched your art room makeover videos (and all the rest after finding your channel this morning lmao) and fell in love with the blanket chair immediately, and this video just reminded me that i wanted to ask if you would perhaps consider making a video about how you built it? it's SO good, genuinely, i'm floored (or, uh, chaired?) thank you and also your videos are superb x
Thank you! I didn’t mention the chair much in the videos because annoyingly I don’t have many video clips of the process (I made it a few years ago over a solo-lockdown Christmas period). I was very much making it up as I went along so would be quite tricky to explain fully (there’s a broom handle and a lot of old-duvet stuffing in there) - will maybe do a similar project on the channel in the future!
You have such a clear sense of style. It was neat to see overlapping themes between your clothes and the home items and see all the things come together.
I love the vibe of your home.
Watching this video while in bed cause I've done something weird to my back. I love the added legs on your bin, it looks like it might scuttle away. I was thinking of claw footed tubs as you made it. All the diys and little details are excellent
I have really struggled with impulse buying but setting rules that align with my values has helped a lot. And more than anything else, the icky feeling I get looking at decor I bought but don't love is a huge deterrent against buying new replacements! Furniture and decor is just too big an investment (on my space and on my eyes) to follow trends. These stools are a trend and an investment in one yummy looking package. Also, if I may make a request, I would love to watch a paper mâché tutorial/project on your channel! Your projects in other videos seem very sturdy and I'm curious to learn more about practical applications with paper mâché. Thank you for reading <3
Impulse buying is something that I think a lot of us will struggle with! Especially when decorating a new home - it feels like there’s so much to buy, which can lead to rushed, slightly stupid decisions (speaking from experience 🤡). I’ve learned that slow and steady is the way to get pieces that I will keep long term. And yes! I have a single-project paper mâché video in the works which will go more in depth on the process ❤️
I actually have the corn stool and I've had long before the viral videos 😅 I just loved the quirkiness of it and use it as a side table in our lounge room. I have since bought the ice cream cone planter and love that too! Edit: I don't plan to buy the whole series as I do not need that many so completely agree with the craziness of over consumption.
