Case 1816 Gets New Tires! [No Power Tools]
Nice job!
Thanks! It is pretty exciting after doing a lot of work to it
opposite of my clutches problem.......
Have you had the time to make that video of rebuilding the clutch? Would love to see it! Getting ready to rebuild mine for the first time.
@braedentesterman5369 Sure thing! that'll be the next video. I'll work on getting the edits done this week
@@theoccasionalfarmboy Awesome, looking forward to it!
Pony motor: change the oil to half diesel fuel and half oil and change the oil filter. Run for 30 minutes . Change out the oil to half marvel mystery oil and half oil and change the oil filter. Run for 30 minutes. Then change the filter and the oil to regular oil. The rings of the pony motor might free up, and not burning oil. Nice tractor and good luck!!
Thanks for the tip! It was running better when I started it up again after I got it home and seemed to run much cleaner. I've been doing an overhaul on the machine for the last year that I've been documenting and am currently getting it all painted up, so I should have a first start video coming in a few months. Will have to see if it does ol'smokey again
It ran a lot sweeter after you had it than before!
First tractor I remember was aVAC 65 years ago
No bench?
Wrong its sachs dolmar its german
Ya, I messed that up. Had to rewatch to realize I said Swedish 🫣
Where did u get the led lights?
Came with the unit when it was bought. It has been since sold, and the owner put on much brighter LEDs. You local farm supply/ dealer should have what you need. Just keep an eye on lumens rating and colour of light
Skid steer sure made that job easier. BTW I like your work boots!
Sure does! It needs an overhaul itself, but just limping it along until I finish this project up. I love my wooden safety shoes too!
Right on - it's vacation is coming to an end!
Time crunch is on and real for the end of the year 😆
Getting excited!
Me too
My favorite saws hands down love the smell of a big saw running and cutting trees and downed wood life is goooood poeple
Cheers to that! Really fine engineering there
think there was a husqvarna 394 there too no?
Seems actually pretty decent. Could buy probably 4 of these before you break even to a brand new 661c
@happyjohn8256 it's a good point. However, users are reporting generally pretty decent results. I won't be surprised it will become more and more commonplace as end users feel that historically trusted companies increasingly don't have their consumers backs. For example, loblaws, apple etc. In the chainsaw world, the mainstays of Stihl and Husqvarna are increasingly being left aside for 3rd best Echo and then Chinese. Personally, I rather buy once cry once, but can totally understand the balance of cost vs longevity. And as an aside the whole idea of Chinese is junk is no longer true. There are some really good work done in China and tons upon tons of unnecessary garbage. I'd rather not support them but that's very hard when everything comes from there..... even if it doesn't say China something likely was used from there. I don't want to support russia either but found out my tires were made in Russia by a supposedly Finish tire brand. Anyways, comments support the occasional farm boy!
What is the liquid
It's all calcium to prevent any freezing of the water
@@theoccasionalfarmboy I didn't even know you filled tires with water.
Dang! You didn’t get hit did you? I’ve seen fingers broken from 2 piece rims coming apart.
Thankfully not! The Tire ended up being patched with silicone before I purchased it, and I guess that's where I decided to blow.
At first I thought you were wearing crocs until I got a closer look, love the clogs! Keep up the good work, love the channel!
I love my wooden safety shoes 😆
I’m in the middle of my dads 720 and was curious about the play in the first reduction gear. I see yours is the same way. have you come across any specs for it?
I haven't seen any specs about the play. On the forums, they said to just crank the end castle nut up hard and should be good. That's what I ended up doing. Otherwise, it'd have to be brought to a machine shop built up and the teeth re- ground. There are not a lot of options, really.
Hope you're having fun while at it. Can be a daunting task, but getting through it wasn't so bad.
Great job with the weld
Thanks! I must say it was a surprise as to how well it went and turned out!
Jumped pretty high in those clumpen lol
Almost turned into a deere myself🤣
Very nice! I have had to weld repairs on a few rims myself. love it!
What did you think of my cheater jb weld paste. Is there a better way or no alternative unless I'm better at welding/ fabricating
@@theoccasionalfarmboy I have used lead as a filler as well as brazing. When I made my centrifuge heater tank for recycling veggie oil I used epoxy to fill my weld holes. If it works it works!
I’m currently looking to buy a machine like this
Great Machines! Lots of power packed in the same footprint as a garden tractor
@@theoccasionalfarmboy yes they are wonderful looking for one to go with my Chinese mini excavator I think it wld help me as far as transporting materials
@@theoccasionalfarmboy subbed
Next time try putting you tire on from the front side of the wheel if you look it has a smaller lip an will make your life much easier not trying to tell you what to do just looked like you had a very hard time good video tho enjoyed it
I appreciate that! Next time.... will keep that in mind to look for.
I bought this beauty 1 week ago, this weekend i will start it for the first time, i'm very excited, bit now I know how to start it right. At first I wasn't sure about the right position for the choke, thank you for this Video.
You're welcome! Let me know how your new toy works for you!
@@theoccasionalfarmboy run's like hell, before i started the saw i cleaned it for hours. I don't know how long it was sleeping, must be a while, but now it's back again, more for fun
Darn ! I like hard Maple. I'm sure there's a reason it needs to go.
Building a 90 by 30 shed, and with the tree there it'd be right in the middle of the drive. Same with that 100' tree.
Definitely was a beautiful tree
Awesome. I’m also gonna get a carbon fiber Stihl clone new eventually
Full unboxing video coming soon and first impressions
@@theoccasionalfarmboy cool
Nice! New sub btw. I’m a fellow farm boy and fellow chainsaw collector.
Thanks! How many do you have in your collection?
@@theoccasionalfarmboy only 24, I want more tho
@MAKESHIFTFARMs Haha, I think you've gotten more than me at that point! Are there any saw you are looking for to build your model lineups?
@@theoccasionalfarmboy if u mean build as in porting and stuff, I might do that to my Makita 520i and a Poulan wild thing I’m supposed to be getting
@@theoccasionalfarmboy or if u mean if I’m looking for more saws, I want a stihl 009, Stihl 041 farm boss, any Shindaiwa, and a Homelite super mini
Crawler loaders were the go to machine for clearing and demolition before excavators were invented and used in the 1970's.
It sure is a great machine, and the engine sounds amazing. Works very well for us
Like it a lot
Good day Boy u guys are orange 2 Allis , case. I have 20 hp riding lawn mower, I would not put it against your vac. Ths
It's always good to find out what these are capable of. Some have even put a small baler behind them
Just wanted to say I've baled straw without live pto. When you start to plug turn out the row before you stop.
I've been spoiled and have only ever used live PTO so this was a great experience!
What rpm is the pto?
Standard 540 rpm depending on the engine speed.
Love it
Looks good. Run one of those heavier buffing/ scotch Brite pads on it to smooth it out
Yippers!!!
Fully loaded! Do you know what brand?
Class Forge Harvester
I love watching you bro
I had the a stihl and the bolt head broke off on muffler, I was screwed.
I have a neotec clone, it's was good out of the box, had a hyway cylinder, but had 34° blowdown corrected it to 22 blowdown and is an animal
Do you remember when you corrected the blow down/video link? That would be great So far, the chain tensioner broke, so will see how it goes
Sweet!
Love watching your videos a lot bro I have autism and learning disability I love watching all your videos keep up the great work I was just lay off my job today it sucks
I'm glad you find joy in watching, and I hope you're able to find a job shortly that fits your needs
Oh I will find a new job real soon bud can you do me a favor please
?
@coreykunkel6941 what's up
Can I use you for a special project it easy I sent you a Instagram invite I will. Tell you more on there
Das ist eine 152.
Named after mount Dolmar in Thuringia, Germany and manufactured in Hamburg. Nice classic saw!
Thanks for the extra history insight on these classics!
@@theoccasionalfarmboy 👍The later versions 6400/7300/7900 were manufactured in collaboration with Solo in Stuttgart with Solo‘s models having 1mm more stroke resulting in 665/675/681 all using the same chassis. When Sachs owned Dolmar they had a Wankel engine saw briefly, the model KMS4. The Solo Twin two cylinder chainsaws from the 60‘s are really neat and rare!
@kbittorf335 Yes, I haven't see a Wankle or the Twin setup in person, but those would have taken quite the collaboration and geniuses to make it compact yet usable. This is great!
Getting there!
Still rubber mounts? Or did they modernize to spring?
Still Springs
Stihl 881 probably a bit more choked up for emissions no?
First off, having had a chain hit my Chain saw chaps and see you in shorts and chore boots, you need to think about safety. No gloves, no chaps. Chain saws need to be respected. Things do happen. Sorry for being the Dad here but speak from experience.
I'll be Gramps...... he's got hearing protection and this is a controlled cut. If he was slashing or felling, then yeah, I'd agree, but hes not. This is akin to reving your motorbike in the driveway without your leathers. But I'd hope you wear your leathers and helmet on the road..... I'm not worried. la viva
How is Juno powered? That isn’t free either?
Electricity lol
Good catch!
Needs a longer bar and you'd be golden. Mind you- I'd rather a different chainsaw 😂
