I loved running 4th edition it’s a very clean game, was my favorite edition to run.the computer programs for character creation and monster builder were awesome . I understand why it got a bad rap, it was a difficult game to start

Oh wow! This video makes me really happy. Thanks so much for going through all of this. I had heard that the GSL was really restrictive and not workable, but it's actually perfect for what I'm planning to do. I'm already making custom monsters, items and powers and now I can use the templates for monsters/powers? Even put the D&D logo on my work? Perfect! Even though I won't be selling my content, it's just for the community. This is fantastic news. Also congrats on your application going through fine. I've watched your streamed games and I like them. Looking forward to seeing what 4e material you produce. I'll support you to get you going. A Greybeard adventure sounds great. You're doing heaps of great stuff for 4e and with this information, I hope that the 4e Renaissance really kicks off with more 3rd party content.

Finally caught up on this stream. This was a really entertaining group to watch. I'd like to see more of these players. Also I really like the part with the water where it was a puzzle/hazzard to overcome and not just combat, after combat in a dungeon. I do this with my group by interspersing puzzles/hazzards/traps, roleplaying and combat so it's not the same thing over and over.

The 4E engine is great; I loved it. Unfortunately WOTC dropped the ball with 4E from day one. Iv done several videos about it. Thanks for showing some light on 4E

But the 4e GLS was not a replacement for the ogl, but for the old "D20 system" license. For someone who just wants to make D&D products this might not matter much, but the ogl gave a lot more freedom if you wanted to make a different game.

So... WotC was scummy way before 5e. Anyways, you earned a sub. Im running DnD for my gf wife and using 4e. So Ill keep an eye on your content.

The changes sounds pretty good! Wouldn't mind more videos on class specific changes, as I haven't had the time to read the book either and this video helped give me a good idea, but I wouldn't mind knowing what else changed.

So you can't redefine the terms but you can add new terms right? That still gives a lot of potential for new mechanics for modules or homebrew classes.

Great research ! Wow - looking forward to see your licensed D&D4e content ! This is really intriguing and makes me think it might be worth writing a campaign.

While the book looks nicer than a previous one, I still don't feel it brings me something that I don't already have with 4e. Going to continue using that

This was linked in r/4eDnD, and I'm copying my comment from there for visibility: There were two other things. The 4E OGL explicitly forbade digital tools, especially character creators -- because if you couldn't use the actual material (other than just saying "look it up"), then you couldn't make software that used that material. Also, even though the SRD includes a "template" for things like powers and magic items and monsters, it doesn't tell you how to duplicate it. No indications of which fonts to use, or the font size, or spacing. And notice that it doesn't include the shading on alternating rows that everything used. So even though you could mimic the format, you could never copy it so your material would look like, at best, a poor facsimile.

I almost spit out my morning tea when you actually MAILED the form! 😆Looking forward to seeing your creative output!

It's a bummer that 4th edition died (or never really lived) because of things having nothing to do with the actual game itself. And equally a bummer that they won't just re-release it under the OGL now. It isn't like it's going to interfere with the juggernaut that is 5E

it's a real shame you can't put statblocks in the text, the best part of running 4e is the two page spread with everything you need for a combat, no faffing with three different books, just open it and run it

Good luck. This is the first 3rd party 4e module that I have ever heard of. And there is a reason people didn't make content for 4e.

Man... now I want to release 4e content, too...

Bloodied is back in 2024 5e, so it will be in the SRD that comes next year.

YES! 4e module coming. When do we get some spoilers? Level? Location? I think just listing monsters and items and spells is fine. In first edition modules that’s was done a lot and a DM played with the DM guide & Monster Manual handy at all times. Also you can make your own goblin or a completely new monster. Most first edition modules had a few new creatures in them. The Fiend Folio was really a collection of monsters from modules that TSR had the rights to because they had licensed and published the modules. Great research & I hope this all works out how you have planned. 😀
