I'm buying a volt ratchet. Do you use the 1/4 or 3/8 more?
1/4 drive all the way! (For aircraft)
been a line mechanic for 30 years…can’t for the life of me understand why people would want to work out of a bag. Asking for a tool and watching them dig through it drives me nuts. I can find whatever i want in my BOX in about 3 seconds. I never carry 3/8’s sockets or ratchets. I wouldn’t be caught dead with a crescent wrench. I carry ONE hammer. I don’t carry a phillips, that’s what the ratcheting screw driver is for. I have a 1/4 5/16 double box end and a 3/8 7/16 one. No need for 11/32 ANYTHING. More tools aren’t always the solution.
You’ve made a lot of good points, can’t argue with that. In my case, I would hate for a last min call and me not having the right tool. Having to run back,(about half a mile) to get a tool would suck. Not only would it suck, but it drives ME nuts. I guess we both have different pet peeve’s. To each their own. I’m actually working on getting a VETO PRO PAC. I will post another video soon
Interesting video...seems crazy in this day and age you guys are hanging onto the SAE system rather than going metric...What I was going to ask was what type of aircraft do you work on, and what sort of work do you do?
My son is starting class in 2 days we are struggling finding all the tools he has to bring in. What model drill is that?
CTS761
it’s an impact not a drill
Sorry mate , couldn’t handle you talking over the radio.
Nice set! Interesting that we all enjoy the Altoids container box more than what it was actually meant for like the mint itself.
I keep spare tire stem caps, CB collars, and some seals in mine altoids container
What do you use for your ads b in?
That's a great marathon time. I need to get back into running myself. It starts killing my knee's though.
8 minute, he wasn't sure if you were the correct call sign responding.
Maybe look at a Veto Pro Pac? They are expensive, but every Spring they have their Spring promotion where if you buy a Tier 1 bag, you get a free bag of lesser value. Tier 1 bags include the backpack style and the free bag is usually an open style bag. Sell the open style bag after the promotion ends and you lessen the cost of the Tier 1 bag. That's what I did this year and last year.
I want the backpack actually !!!
in the future make sure to watcha video on how to split audio tracks when editing into dual track so we don't just hear on the left ear.
I’ve been trying to figure this out actually! Thank you
Nice set up. I have a Husky bag for my line setup and I would recommend the grip edge stuff for Allen‘s. They work great. Some of the husky bags are water resistance, so it does help if I leave it out. It has a massive amount of pockets on the inside just my recommendation.
lol if I can’t get it with a ratcheting screwdriver and pair of knipex she goin’ back in the hanger
Haha been there 😂😂😂
I kept a backpack style rain cover in my bag for when it rains/snows. It was a lifesaver working on ski lifts and my stuff hardly got wet and rusty
Mini 6 rules
You rule
I love those snapon high performance long box-ends. without fail, everyone has 'em.
So, we fly in airplanes you maintain.... and you don't understand acceptable torque levels on a 1/4 ratchet so as not to make it fail prematurely? I saw another tech for an airline who had up to one inch sockets for 1/4 ratchet. And he said his mechanic course lets him enroll without a multimeter. As if anything actually runs without proper electrical. I'm never flying again. Not kidding. You guys are culls.
Haha you got issues
Don’t worry, everything I do, I actually torque with a proper torque wrench and follow maintenance manuals. Have fun driving around
Any hardware requiring torque is required to be torqued using calibrated tooling. With working on an in service aircraft accessibility may be of concern, 1/4 Drive tends to be the most capable of providing reach and retain mechanical advantages provided by a ratchet. Other supplementary tooling such as torque adapters and crows foot wrench that provides the needed contact to achieve proper installation lack the ability to remove/thread any hardware in a timely fashion.
Part 147 outlines the necessary equipment, curriculum and the FAA Airman Certification Standards provides the information and subject matter areas that are required to obtain the privileges of an Aircraft mechanic ratings including but not limited to Fundamentals of Electricity and Electronic Aircraft Electrical Systems Engine Electrical Systems
I'd say any torque is acceptable as long as you don't break the ratchet and the job gets done. They sell rebuild kits for like $5 bucks for when we break them. So just sit in the back of the plane and stfu until you get to your destination. Until then, keep crying about it. Sasquatchfarts....
Awesome, thanks for sharing bro. Great stuff
theose 2 toolboxes are deemed unacceptable by my company's quality standards due to concerns about tool control ability. I see good tools but poor standards.
Awesome. I see a lot of people have their rolling tool boxes in there. Looks like they're all similar, and a unique design! It would be cool to see the others as well! An update would also be cool.
I will do an update tool box tour in about a week 👍🏼
@@flogsbymm I'm looking forward to it, I'll subscribe!
I think the world didnt need to know our aircraft mechanics use scrap-on🤮🤮😱😱😱
Hey bro you quit doing your RUclips videos you were doing a tremendous job on them but I'm just checking to see if you ever got your instrument license? Call I'm sure you don't remember LOL but I'm the one that flew c130s in the Air Force so anyways happy trails hope things are well
I’m going to get back to it soon! Yes I am actually a cfi now. I will definitely do an updated video soon. Thanks for checking it and your nice comment.
@@flogsbymm good stuff bro thanks for getting back no big deal I just didn't want you quitting your dream, congratulations on the CFI you're kicking some ass happy trails
Hey! Starting sport pilot training soon should I get the Wi-Fi version and connect my hotspot to it or get celluer and just not start data plan?
NIce video, good flight, I would suggest commenting that parts of the video were edited out for time, IE - no run up and mag check..FAA may not like that
Make more videos!
ATC made the comment about assuming who you were because you forgot to state it at the end of your intended altitude transmission.
What mount is this? What case to attach the apple pencil
Is it cellular or GPS only?
Cellular, so it’s got gps on it. I have yet not activated the cellular part of the iPad though
@@flogsbymm thank you
I got one and love it too 😊 safe flight
Awesome!
keep it up bro we took some classes together ERAU
Thank you bro !! Hope is all well! Bachelors yet ?
Another amazing flight keep it up !
Thank you Ali !!! Appreciate it man
Cool video! Do you still think the mini is the best fit? I am a student pilot training in a 172 and planning to use ForeFlight eventually for my electronic flight bag. Trying to figure out if the mini or the regular size ipad makes more sense? The regular size might be too big? I look forward to "feeling better" as you speak of when I get more confident and am able to "think ahead of the airplane".
Yes! The small one is the preferred one as it’s smaller. I’m only speaking for myself though.
Hey guys, got my first flight tomorrow!
Have to admit approach's sarcasm with you not reading back the callsign a few times had me 🤣 Great vid!
That visor needs some glue….😊
God bless u all #salute!!!!!
Good stuff bro keep it up !
Thank you !
Growth is insane bro, starting school next week to become an A&P.

Nicely dne bro. Jus lik las yr. Keep pushin. #salute!!!!!
Thank you bro !!
💯
Sup bro. U dne superb on ur landings witout no lights. Congrats again on passin ur instrument to both u & Mike Ojo Mojogrip. Foreflight is expensive & yeah that mid air collision in Watsonville was very saddening. Even wit tha guy fallin out of the airplane @ RDU when the landing gear wheel came off. Gud luck on soon passin ur commercial check bro. Fly safe. #salute!!!!!
Would recommend keeping the strobes off while on the ground at night unless you’re on the runway/crossing a runway
Thank you!
Made me nervous for a second
Thanks for watching!
Great video but a few pointers if I may. 1. "Ready to go" isn't the correct terminology when you're ready to takeoff/depart from an airport (Ref. ICAO Doc. 4444), 2. When you start to float when you did the first slip to land, pull the throttle all the way back, meaning, having no throttle in. It helps to counteract the floating ( Ref. AOPA: Landing with flair). 3. GREAT job with putting the aileron into the wind, that is something that is overlooked way too much, great job! 4. On your slips to land, you're not supposed to have any power in and you had added power on all of them. the reason why is that, you do a slip to land because you're too high on your approach so adding power defeats the purpose. Instead, if you see yourself getting below glidepath, simultaneously, put ailerons and rudders to neutral, then add power (Ref. Bold Method: High on Final). Honestly, I love your videos. Hope these tips find you well as you're in the field of always becoming a better pilot, as am I. Keep up the great content! Looking forward to more videos! Capt. Torres
Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting, I would have thought aircraft stuff would be all metric.
Airbus tends to have some metric every now an then.
