Rob-Botics home training over 50
Великобритания
Добавлен 17 окт 2013
I started calisthenics in my late 40s. Training this late in the game is hard but I have a saying. It's never too late.
Join me in my journey as a complete novice as I progress in my goal to reach elite status. I come from the world of weight training. Ive always trained natural and from time to time I've tried calisthenics but never full time. The lockdown of 2020 forced me to train from home and discover new ways to train. If your one of those people out there that can never find the time to train and don't really know where to start. This channel is for you. I may be new to this type of bodyweight training but I understand the principles of putting routines and body parts together. so join me on my journey, and we will get there together. Im not high tech but my routines are brutal. I will make mistakes but without them we don't learn anything. There is an old saying ' failure is the only path to success' .

I love rings
Rings are a great piece of equipment. Just where to put them...
loved this one Rob, nicely done!
Excellent for daily workout!!!
Awesome review Rob! I agree with you; I’ve had 2 isobows for years and I’m amazed at the quality of workout you can get from them. You can even hang them over a door and do pull-ups. I bought a pair of isobow pros when they first come out and like you, found the effect to be subtle but noticeable. I’m on holiday in Lincoln right now and my isobows are all I’ve taken with me. I’ve done some excellent Timed Static Contraction workouts.
💪
You could have picked up a bug/virus. They really affect your fitness by reducing your red blood cell count. You wont be any less fit than the last killer 20. Maybe 2 or 3 rest days with good sleep to allow some recovery...You will be back soon for sure💪💪
Thanks for the advice. I have been very tired last few days and developed a cold sore so maybe your right.
love seeing the comeback Rob!
Out of interest, have you ever seen these pieces of equipment in a gym?
No never but I always trained in the old school gyms strictly free weights. But I did train at a couple that had resistance bands.
When I was getting physio 7 years ago, they had several Bullworker 2s in there. They swore by them for rehabilitation
Great job.
Nice session Rob - and you're looking good!
Thanks eric
Are they safe to use rob
Yes it was just that I didn't check the clips before I pulled the spring but this is why you always draw the chin back when using them
Hello rob I saw the spring break when using it my god whappen to it are you ok
Yeah, I'm good. It slipped off the clip. 🤣
Massive effort today Rob and big improvement. Very soon sub 20!💪
Great job Rob!
Thanks for never being afraid to look less than perfect just like the rest of us and making these actual workout length videos. I've been doing A LOT of chest expander work over the past 6 months and was seriously considering buying this book. After seeing your video I ordered it from a local seller and just received it. Some of these exercises require some serious coordination but I can definitely see them improving both strength and stability. Keep up the great work, Rob. Thanks for showing that these "old school" methods have merit and can produce great results at home. 👍👍
Thank you so much for your very possative comments. I really appreciate it. I was really impressed with this book. I was surprised at how much I was aching the next day. I can't wait to try the rest of it. Apparently the full course is amazing. This was recommended to me by one of my subscribers.
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 I think anyone who gets through the entire course would have to be in much better condition than when they started it, physically and mentally. The suggestion from your subscriber was a good one. There's nothing more positive than a group of like-minded people wanting to improve themselves and see everyone around them improve at the same time.
Brilliant. Definitely going to check the Prowse exercises and try with my classic and steel bow. Have a great bank holiday weekend Rob.
That's great to hear, good luck with it. How's the training going so far?
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 Thanks Rob. Slow and steady - I've been addressing longstanding shoulder impingement for a while now but it's getting better with the strength training. I swim four or five times a week and generally do about 1-1.5km and the Bullworkers, iso-bow and resistance bands have really helped me gain strength for that too. Also I lost quite a few pounds last year as part of blood sugar control and the exercise and training have helped me get all that back to normal. Despite being rather ancient, I've even put quite a bit of muscle on! Am really enjoying it all and learning so much from you others. Thank you v much!
Are you from Scotland?
No, Yorkshire
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 i like your accent By the way, did you actually buy any book of Eugene Sandow?
@Luca-uc2ro yeah, I've got one book and 2x eBooks
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 Did you them on Amazon?
I have the X5 Pro Bullworker, it's great.
It's on my list of things to buy
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 You will love it.
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 I use the X5 Pro for the upper body and the classic for the abs and legs.
On my wish list
Get the new classic. The changeable springs are a game changer for me.
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 thanks Rob
When you say Bullworker 2, do you have the first one? I had that one!
I wish I had the first one. No I don't this version I bought from ebay and on the manual it says bullworker 2. As a kid I believe we owned the first one but it got thrown out years ago.
I've got the green 1, it was my grandads then when he saw I was into exercising he gave it to me. As useful an unique as they are I wouldn't pay the money they are asking for one, I think the Isomax is much better value and something I'm looking to buy myself.
The isomax is a great piece of kit. I would love one.
made my own iso chain. Took some scrap wood, an eye bolt, carabiner, spring, and a lashing strap. Can do all the isochain/isomax exercises without measurement. Your local hardware store should have all the ingredients to cook one up yourself
I've seen a video where someone makes their own. He ended up buying one because he missed the ability to measure progress. I might make one 🤣
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 Remember, Spenby chest expanders don't have a meter. Not everything needs a meter yet you know you are getting stronger
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 I'm almost sold, I'm just concerned about duty tax. The last time I bought some equipment from America it cost me almost as much in duty tax as the item itself.
Great demo💪
I’ve got the same bullworkers as you Rob - except the 70s version. I’m not sure where that went! 😂. I love the smoothness of the Classic, the convenience of the Steel Bow and the uniqueness of the X5. Awesome kit!
I sometimes wonder why we need do many bullworkers but then I realise that they are just awsome
I bought a bodyblade 2yrs ago, best piece of equipment I have, good video.
Got any decent tips, I've alot to learn with it?
@@rob-boticscalisthenicshome6355 mine came with 2dvds but there is a good you tube channel. 🤗
You pushed harder than last time I think. Definitely progress...
That was impressive, well done.
Great workout Rob and you're looking strong!
Well done Rob, im away on holiday at the moment so might give the killer 20 a go. Found a park gym that has a pull up bar and some machines. Think it will be the pike push ups that might be a challenge on my shoulder. Your right about burpees, I was in the Navy for 7 years and they made you do loads of them in basic training.
Where can you buy his course
Ebay. Just type in the book title.
Ive got the version with photos with the various bodybuilders. For the neck work id use a rubber band, the original course was with rubber cables so thats why they put those exercises in. Good stuff.
Thanks for the advise. Much appreciated
Some tough compound movements here👌
I am going to have a go at your killer 20 one day Rob! I think the 4 x 10 pull ups could be the most tricky for me...
Would love that. I personally think you would nail it.
Great job Rob, quickly getting your fitness back
I talk about you in this video at 10.34
and thank you for the shout out!

Good workout Rob, I also do a bit of cycling but my favourite enjoying the scenery/cardio is kayaking on the river every now and then. That blade looks like a good training device, and I guess progression would be longer duration of being able to do the movements in good form? Probably needs some proctective measures for the crown jewels if you get more momentum going with it ha ha.
All tough stuff Rob!
Great job Rob, like this version a lot!
Thank you Eric, I appreciate it.
That side delt exercise...make sure you don't catch your rollocks in that spring!!!😖😄
Enjoying seeing the work of the comeback trail Rob!
Thanks eric. Wish I was 🤣
Hmm...Thinking you should stick with one piece of equipment for awhile, before introducing a new stimulus on your comeback trail. Try the iso-flo for awhile.
way to get the work in Rob!
Request Yoga 👍💪💪
Great stuff bop
Just got round to watching this Rob. Glad you have found the drive to keep going, and are down to earth about your challenges. I had another setback with my back whilst on holiday recently and I could only sit about and eat whilst hoping i could stand up properly again. You have a whole laboratory of exercise equipment and ideas at your disposal so im sure making a routine of some training will get you where you want to be.
Nice simple workout Rob, loving the pull up station. Im too tall to do pull ups in my rack so have to bend knees. Im suffering a left shoulder injury so overhead works painful. Found dips and decline bench are ok though so it must be some sort of impingement.
Hopefully it will get better
Fantastic depth on those press ups Rob. The pike press ups didn't aggravate the shoulder?
Thanks Duncan. Surprisingly not, although the press ups and pull ups did. I'm on it though I've got the problem in check now and do corrective excersices for thd joint every day .
well done Rob!
Great routine. Might have to try and build up to this. Have a great weekend, Rob. Hope you enjoyed your tea!
Another great video Rob! I was getting worried about you 😂 Glad you’re back mate
Thanks
