TWEAKER - Drives Smallmouth Bass WILD !
Tie this thing on and watch the chaos unfold! Great for low water days when the sun is high and bright. It swims great, casts easily, and gets eaten hard. Works on any rod size, down to 5 wt. This is actually a fairly old pattern I came up with years ago, and has fooled a ton of fish over the seasons.
Swim it with fast, short strips, making it pop and tweak. Looks a lot like a wounded baitfish, something smallmouth bass have a huge problem with. . .

A foam top Murdich minnow, tied on a bent shank Ahrex hook. I have not fished this, but think the concept could be interesting, especially on a sink tip line. A hex jig that works for trout and steelhead. This was heavily inspired by David Hise and a similar fly he posted not too long ago that I really liked. Much respect. If targeting steelhead, increase the hook and shank size. Imitates a drifting/swimming crayfish. Has elements of the classic smallmouth fly, the Tequeely. Also a slight mod of one of my most productive patterns, the Evo Cray. My favorite smallmouth fly. SF flash fibers, ice wing, craft fur, and eyes. Hook is a bent shank Ahrex hook. This fly swims very erratically, and dives with each strip. Sinks very slowly, so it hovers over structure nicely.

A quick cut of some decent fish before my battery died. Overall a pretty tough day of fishing. Water was low and clear, sun was blazing, and lots of noisy kayaks and canoes. Regardless, always fun to enjoy the splendor of summer in northern Michigan! Watch in 1080p for full effect!
