Looking at getting one..but will be honest. Not crazy about the bridge pickup...the other settings have warmer sound imho. Can always change em out. One thing do love is the color, it doesn't have the push pull pots...never been a fan. I know people love em..thats fine. Just not for me. Love jazz music..so could always stay in the first two settings. One am looking at will put on the pocking tuners, maybe different pickups, the lampshade knobs struck me...saw em on different color. That's prob all would do to it.

Whats the fingerboard length of the 245? My prs Mira I think have an 18.3 inches fingerboard length.

Beware…rubbish QC from PRS…..just bought one …covered in QC stickers and a detailed QC hang tag….rubbish !… the soldering on the electrics has been done by a three year old !…. The neck pickup is dead and the cheapest shittiest pickup selector switch is not working …complete cack !,,

They aren’t hum buckers.. quit calling them that you’re insulting the Gretsch guitar. Nice review besides calling the “Filter Tron’ pickups Hum buckers😂

Gretsch players with Bigsbys, particularly Electromatics, soon learn that the 3-way fix for tuning issues is 1. Get a real bone nut 2. Fit a roller bridge. 3. Don't wind too much string around the tuners.

I love Highway One (I have 4), American Special (I have 2) and Performers but the big headstock on the Strats is a load of nonsense, so I cannot buy them. It happened around 2006 when the HW-1 Strats were facelifted and carried into the Special and Performer now also.

I got this guitar (satin LPB) in 2020 (I’m holding it in my picture), the only thing I changed was to Fender locking tuners (which were a drop in replacement) but that was down to personal preference, they are gorgeous guitars

absolutely hate the gloss on necks for both playability and looks.

Different models of the Sterling Axis have different necks. As for the brightness: it's better to use the Tone knob to tone it down rather than change the pickups and lose the brightness completely. These pickups are copies of the pickups that Ernie Ball Music Man designed for EVH, so they're very excellent pickups.

I had to pay $600 just for the neck, so I hope it’s worth it

I bought this neck specifically for the jumbo headstock and NO gloss natural feeling

I own one of these in Airline Silver, and it’s not only my favourite, but also my most stable guitar, in terms of tuning. Here’s how I made that happen: 1. Bricks BiggsFix. 2. Replaced that scrapey Adjust-o-Matic bridge with a roller bridge. 3. Replaced the tuners with Grover Rotomatic lockers 4. I widened the nut slots just a wee bit. 4. I Keep everything well lubricated with silicone gun oil. On the nut slots, I use a silicone gel. The strings now move freely when I operate the Bigsby, and after a 10-minute jam with moderate vibrato use (that means no dive-bombs-it’s a Bigsby, not a Floyd Rose) my tuning’s typically off by only a couple of cents. After leaving her in the case for a month, tuning is PERFECT, provided she’s not exposed to any temperature extremes. Seriously, though; she’s more stable than my Gretsch stop-tail (G2655-P90), which ALSO has Rotomatics on her , though no roller bridge. I don’t really need the strings to move nearly so smoothly over the bridge, without a vibrato tailpiece.)

I have several top shelf guitars. I just picked up a damaged Ibanez AZSE40 from Musicians Friend. Had been dropped on the tail and needed some body work only. Easy fix and got it new for half price. Thought I would swap out the pickups. Nope!!! Not going to do that. Sounds better than my 90s Strat. Much better. And the build is amazingly top craftmanship. Ibanez accidently created an inexpensive Top Shelf guitar! Funny..of all my guitars my favorites are a custom made Epiphone LP Special II-Ltd and this thing!!! These ceramic pickups are a different breed.

I have been looking at both the single and double cut Gretsch Electromatics. Do you have a handle on the main differences other than the shape? Which you prefer? Thanks.

From what i'm hearing, the up position on the toggle seems to be the deepest sounding one.

You have to see the colors in person to really appreciate them. Just amazing really.

This is the sweetest-sounding "clean" guitar I own, and also one of the least expensive. Go figure!

I took the gloss off my MIM 1998 strat with steel wool. Hate gloss, it is so sticky.

I bought this semi- hollow prs but the Zack Myers pickup sounds way better. But i think i will still keep this guitar.
