Americans are mad. Most EU citizens are totally safe day or night. In my family we "graduated" our teenage daughters to be able to travel independentely by doing a all night stroll through Berlin. I the civilised world like EU or Japan you don't get shoot or mugged.
One of my friends played "Gunnar" in that movie :D
Omg! Can’t believe it! 😂 Ahah that’s so cool 😎
I used to live in the street at 3:58 a few years ago when I went to high school!
😮 Such a beautiful area! 🫠
I have an Irish driving licence and the DVLA told me I don't need to change my EU licence to UK until my 70th birthday 😊
Love it, captured a very "Bergen-y" situation in regards to the rain. Authentic experience for sure. Keep up the good work! Best from a local :) Hope you had a lovely time!
Thanks very much for watching and for commenting, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I really did have a great time in Bergen, I still remember with nostalgia that walk in my favourite hillside part, with the gorgeous, cosy, pastel coloured houses.. 🫠 Best from (equally rainy) Scotland! :)
@@camyinwonderworld It's always fun to see an "outsiders" view of the city, and your tour was lovely. Bergen, by far, is a weird, unconventional and intersting place for foreigners to explore, and it warms my heart that you enjoyed it :)

Its much better feeling walking the mountain up, takes around 30 minutes only ;)
Drivers are required by law to stop for pedestrians and many people just walk out without looking both ways so we are always prepared to stop. Bergen is not completely safe and it is getting worse so take care of your self.
100 point for you tank so for information
You’re very welcome! Glad I helped 😀
In all of norway is free go out Crime islow Yes bad tings happen But in general No So Enjoy Be free

Thank you so much for a wonderful video.

Good that you "are not scared in the slightest", but you should still be careful. Bergen is safer than most cities but you still need to be vigilant. Things happen even in Bergen, more and more over the last years.
Eh...
The weather was perfect for getting the most authentic Bergen experience.
The most authentic bergen experience, is to see the transformation of the city, when the clouds lift and the sun comes out...and the city just explodes....and everyone gets out... and the trolls turn into beutiful people....
@@atleengelstad5303 When the sun comes out in Bergen, the locals think they are seeing a UFO.
@@Cenindo The sun is a conspiracy theory. Definitely not real.

I live in Bergen ( lucky me),but Bergen is not all beauty. The suburbs are quite a disaster. And the part of the city called Nygård is ugly and soulless, unfortunately.
Yeah, every place has its ugly neighbourhoods! I wasn’t there that long and basically always stayed in the city centre. The furthest I’ve been from the city was the university and harbour part.
Your videos are delicious. Your video thumbnail is also good but your videos are not getting enough views. Do you know why?
Your videos are delicious. Your video thumbnail is also good but your videos are not getting enough views. Do you know why?
Another wonderful video. You mentoined that there was an area that was dirty and shabby. I think that applied to most big towns and cities. On out road trip in 2011, we visited two cities that were super clean. One was Bruges, where we stayed a couple of days. The streets are cleaned every day, and it's one of the cleanest places I've seen. The other was Luxembourg, super clean and a wonderful place to visit and stay. Back to the video, I think that virtually all of the places you visit look very relaxing, it must be wonderful to be able to visist them all. Maybe one day I'll get another chance to visit Europe and follow in your footsteps to some of these places. I look forward to the next video, and thank you for giving me something nice to look forward to on my weekends.
Definitely, as I said in the video there are shabby areas in every city, in Palermo a bit more than usual… as well as graffiti and some neglect 😔 However it still has its beauty and wonderful monuments, squares and buildings! Thanks for what you said, I’m really happy to know that you enjoy the videos so much! Hope you get back to travelling soon 😃
Do you have a minute for a story about Palermo.? Like you a solo traveller and Palermo fascinated me. And yes shabby ( in Italian??) but it's the people. I found a cafe and had an excellent dinner , amusing the locals by having a grappa as a digestif. 😂 As I was leaving, I asked Carlo the owner the best way back to my hotel. He said this late?? I will get you a taxi - if he charges more than 10 Euros, tell me 😱. Next day I went back to say thank you and have lunch. The owner explained it was May 1st fiesta party so only drinks in the restaurant. Seeing my disappointment be gave me a gin and tonic , said wait there Scozzese - 10 minutes later he reappeared with a steak chips and salad AND a bottle of wine saying " you can't come to my house and not eat".! Fantastic and to this day I remember and am grateful. Loved Palermo, thank you Palermo. Graxie Mille . ❤
I was in Torino and bought a return ticket for the tram. I took the tram from the train station to the other side of the Po where the hostel was. I did validate the ticket. However, after a siesta and a freshen up, I headed back I to town. On the tram, I got surrounded by inspectors. I felt glad that I had a ticket and it was validated. The inspector then said it wasn't valid as it was only to be used as a return within 4 hours. I argued that back home in Scotland a return ticket would be valid for at least a full day and only for a few hours was inconceivable. He nevertheless issued a fine. Not a good start to my trip. I felt that if I was Italian falling foul of the rules in Scotland then the inspector would have issued a warning not a fine. Still haven't paid it though 😂
Oh no!!! One thing I learned is that saying “In x country we do this” will surely annoy the person 😂 They’ll be like “Ok then go back there” 😅
Inspectors feel that by collecting fines ads monetary to the tourist bucket for the city but instead keeps travelers from returning because of bad experience. Once these experiences are shared keeps others from visiting knowing have such strict laws. After reading this will not go there.
Hi Did you put inside proof of that you paid.? I mean postal order receipt, looks like a check.

Some information about why this ship is so incredible for your viewers. Fram was designed so it could be frozen into the ice and drift through the north pole. But, at this point the movement of ice was just a theory, no-one knew anything about it other than finding the odd driftwood and a shipwreck found in Greenland and Svaalbard, thought to have originated from Siberia and Alaska. So they took the ship to Siberia and drove her into the ice, freezing her solid, and the ship stayed frozen in the ice for three years! Slowly drifting through the ice. But, the ship didn't drift north enough to reach the pole itself, so Nansen and Hjalmar Johansen went off on skies in an attempt to reach the pole. They failed, but came further north than any human being had ever been before them. But the two men had now no way to relocate the ship, and went south in desperation. They ended up in the desolate Franz Josef Land, where they found some ice free shoreline where they fashioned a camp by digging a hole in the rocky ground, putting driftwood timber over it, and covering it with walrus skin. With supplies running low, they only survived by what they were able to hunt, and spent the next eight months there. They were only rescued by some sheer luck. One day while out exploring Nansen heard the barking of some dogs. He went to investigate, and came across Frederick Jackson, another explorer who was on hiw own expedition to Franz Josef Land. Now Franz Josef Land is a giant archipelago containing 200 islands, 16,134 square km large, and Nansen had no knowledge that there were another expedition there, nor did Jackson know that Nansen had to seek refuge there. In my view it's one of the most incredible stories in history, and I had really hoped you would share this story with your viewers. Fram is about more than just cozy cabins and butchering of husbandry. There's so many incredible stories linked to this vessel. Fram was later used in other expeditions as well, including a four year long charting and scientific exploration of Arctic Canada, and the two year long Amundsen expedition which became the first to ever reach the South Pole. And concerning the butchering of animals. I prefer they show the harsh reality. I think it's dangerous that meat now just comes already wrapped and packed, and we're so disconnected with the reality of husbandry and butchering. I think more people would care about animal welfare if they were more connected to it, and seeing and understanding the process is part of this. So it's very important to show the cruel reality. Besides if you're on a ship for three years, trapped in the polar ice, with no ports or any contact with any humans at all, for three long years, how do you think they would avoid getting scurvy? You can't keep lemons and limes for that long, meat was the only option for surviving such an ordeal. And it would keep longer if butchered onboard, they really did not have any other choice in the matter. For the dogs survival as well. I don't think vegetarianism was a phenomenon in Norway at all at that time, it was among some in upper class Britain, but not elsewhere in Europe. So everyone ate meat, they wouldn't even have considered anything else. And how did they get the meat? It doesn't grow on trees. It's so important to show the harsh reality, trying to shelter people from the reality of animal use and abuse is just going to cause worse conditions for animals. It's cowardice.

Hi did you put an extra envelope inside with a 1st class stamp too for them to return it to you or it isn't needed? Thank you
Hi! Once you send them your Italian driving licence to exchange it with a UK one they won’t return it, they’ll only send you your new British one. I don’t know if you’re referring to an I.D., too, but I didn’t include an envelope/stamp because I didn’t need to send them my original I.D./passport, as I had a pre-settled status (I’ve got a settled one now) I proved my identity with a share code. Hope this helps!
@@camyinwonderworldthank you for you reply. Where did you write your right to live in UK share code? In the passport number spaces?
@@alessandrovesta5225 you’re very welcome. Not in the passport space, you leave that blank. In the same section (“Proving your identity” or something along those lines) you will have the space to write the share code. I don’t have that leaflet anymore but I think I remember this. Good luck!
Thanks for your video. I am traveling next week. May I know what you are paying for at 3:55? The lift?

What a contrast! I hope you don't mind, but at the start of the video you seemed stressed and anxious ( only my opinion) . In another life I used to drive from Keith in NE Scotland to Newcastle, ferry to Rotterdam , then drive to Frankfurt - although I did share the driving. I found the most stressful thing was the change of driving on the left, to the right side of the road. I hope you took the upper bunk on the ferry 😄! In contrast , once you were off tge ferry in Europe you became the delightful " stravagante/estroso Camy, and " bursting" for a service station is VERY Scottish 😅😅. Thank you for making me smile again. And a Nessie fridge magnet on a Danish ship??
Are there toilets on the ferry? :)
Most definitely, yes :)

Hi
Another wonderful video. You certainly do get about, and that is some drive. I just wish I was able to do it, but unless I win the lottery there is absolutely no choice of even getting a suitable vehicle. I do now have a mobility scooter, but limited to how far I can go with that, lol. Every Sunday morning I sit here at the computer, patiently waiting to see if you're going a video, as I've mentioned before they're the highlight of my week. And when you do post, I'm never disappointed. As I've done since seeing the first one, I shall now download this and put it with all the others. It's much better than getting guide books. Thanks again for giving me something to look forward to.
