CrossCode (Getting Ready To Raid Vermillion Wastelands) Part - 49
3:05 : one more jump, but 3 more shield guys 4:04 : I forgot that these two were neutral, huh. 4:16 : quick work of them 4:32 : yeah the 3 keys are for some chests in the vegetated part near the entrance 5:06 : into the light 5:41 : I found this fight to be pretty tough… I think I had to resume attempts at it as a separate play session 5:48 : Di’orbis appears! 5:54 : as do… uh, whatever the name of the square and hexagon were… 6:38 : … how did this not kill? you just face tanked it, but I thought your level was reasonable for this? I’m a bit confused 8:25 : Shock shield, didn’t prevent all the damage though 9:37 : meteors 9:49 : bolts of light (Tricky to dodge until one gets it) 10:58 : I liked this wave attack , neat thing to dodge 11:30 : there you go dealing with the shield 12:19 : oh, I guess you were a sliver from getting to the next phase last time 13:14 : all 4 of them now 15:20 : and soon is the part that like, pretty much instakilled me the first time I got to that part, where I had basically no idea what I was supposed to do, haha 16:27 : here’s the part 16:49 : yeah uh, getting hit by that pretty much instakilled me? 17:57 : nice dodge ending up behind her like that 18:39 : guess it didn’t matter that it was the wrong element First try, well done 21:12 : Instatainment’s new game announced 23:04 : yep, C’tron wasn’t feeling it I suppose… 23:13 : “slopes!” : yeah! I imagine they wrote some code specially to support handling walking on that gate like that? (“they” as in Radical Fish, not Instatainment) 26:36 : “why are your eyes like that?” : I think maybe that’s her trying really hard not to be mad? Idk 30:27 : hehe, I forgot the “WAAAAIIIIITTTT”x2 combo 31:13 : and, as far as plot progress goes, this is about where I left off. I was nervous about how things continued, so I procrastinated on it by… doing all but 2 of the side quests. One of them is an optional superboss, near the entrance part of the new beach area. That was what I was trying to do when I left off. It’s a hard fight. The other one is in the bamboo region where some other player who likes to use in-game exploits, wants your help investigating an unused part of the playground. I skipped this one because I’m too much of a rule-follower and Sergey said it would be imprudent and dangerous (risking a ban) to work with that player in that way. (Obviously that danger doesn’t actually come to pass in the quest.) Well, now I need to resume playing the game so I can keep watching / am refamiliarized with the events and characterization at this point. Oh, that reminds me, I was going to find and link a clip of that conversation with Shizuka and Emilie. (They also have conversations if you have both in a party together.)
My lvl is in the mid 80 when playing this part cause I've been grinding for items and getting real unlucky
0:24 : oh, I think this puzzle can sometimes be a little glitchy? 6:18 : after the first part you pretty much got the rest of that puzzle all at once (I was also failing to remember the first step) 8:19 : that was certainly effective! 10:17 : Emilie and Shizuka talking on the bottom left there 16:37 : ice slidey puzzle 17:25 : iirc this is a timing one? 21:11 : this one gave me some trouble 22:23 : wow. You first tried it. 26:29 : haha, nice JADC in place of that timing 29:30 : yep, here’s the two big timing puzzles 34:21 : nicely done 34:39 : the very tall totem towers 36:13 : no element matched this time, nice 36:30 : oh, I forgot there was another one with this kind of timing 43:06 : ah, this is the conversation I had been thinking of :)
Unfortunate I missed the Emilie and Shizuka talking I imagine it would have been a good one to see
0:27 : he *does* look cool 4:58 : ah, there’s Luke and Lukas … but it wasn’t the conversation I was thinking of? Huh. I was thinking about the one where Luke talks about the beach. 5:37 : I think the indoor parts are instanced, so that’s the (in-universe) reason you couldn’t see them after following them through the door (and presumably they don’t see each-other either) 12:19 : Snipers! 15:18 : I think this puzzle took me a while, iirc Though maybe I’m getting mixed up with the one after it? 20:13 : :? I don’t know why it’s doing that… 22:49 : the puzzle I thought was the next puzzle wasn’t the next puzzle … though it also took me a bit. 29:45 : couldn’t you use the boost pads at the top right of the left side of the puzzle and then go to the right half of the puzzle, and walk down to the bottom right and go up the boost pad? Or did a boost pad get deactivated and I forgot?
29:45 when i was doing the puzzle i thought that there was a wall next to the right stack of blocks making it so i couldn't go there but looking at it later i see it was just so i couldn't push block over to the left
0:18 : sniper hummingbirds! 1:36 : re: instanced fight : yeah, that sounds like it would be tough to pull off.. do they just… spawn in the avatar at one location while unspawning from the other location and like, give a visual signal that is a linear combination of what the player would see at the other one location vs at the other? Seems like it would be complicated. 2:35 : yep! Ice makes it fall :) 9:19 : “buuble”, yep! it sure does interact with pretty much all the previous things. 18:55 : I keep looking for Luke on these bridge scenes, but I guess his conversation is later?
0:22 : Some nice characterization of Satoshi’s sense of humor. First time he’s shown telling a joke, I think? 1:45 : “Satoshi: … [glasses flash slightly]” : I think he might have a different hypothesis in mind which he has chosen not to state at this point.. 3:49 : I haven’t actually tried the Vermillion cup. I think it’s nice that so many (all? Idr.) of the boss fights are available in the arena. 5:00 : “unlikely to spread the news” hehe 5:45 : “a boundless sea of stars” 7:13 : I don’t think I had seen Carla’s kid playing with the cat here! Cute 7:23 : I think this was Gautham’s cat maybe? I think he had a cat with him in a couple cutscenes. And it would explain why there was a real cat on the playground. And, we know there’s a dock not far from the tower. (Though I guess dungeon instances are like, underground generally? I think that was said..) 7:59 : I’ve wished those two in the kitchen would say something. Idk. 9:27 : yep, you called it 13:11 : Some, kind of freaky facial expressions from C’tron here 14:41 : “why would Sidwell ever feel this way?” : I don’t know. He’s pretty strange! 15:29 : “everything checks out!” : I should say that, as I haven’t played the last plot point yet, my comments saying that you called it, that’s only to the degree that I know. I don’t know how the last section goes, so maybe it throws an additional wrinkle or two in things 16:33 : “this task will require my continuous attendance in CrossWorlds for a prolonged period.” : I wonder what effects that would have… or… Hm.. Is the recipient of this message Sidwell, or the evotar of Sidwell (C’tron ) 18:20 : (relationship between Sidwell and the mute lady, and how that relates to Sidwell’s relation to Lea) : yeah, presumably something significant there. 19:10 : [Satoshi falls out of chair] : haha 21:07 : Satoshi is under leveled, haha (Also, what class even is he? His sprite looks the same as the sprite for his physical body…) 21:25 : “I’m assuming Satoshi is *also* a spheromancer” : haha, same question. Yeah, that would be my best guess as well, at least currently. Maybe there’s some evidence otherwise that I’m not aware of or am not remembering, but, seems likely enough.. 21:25 : “color coordinated” : Oh! Good point! Yeah, the red glasses seem to match with that! 21:48 : there’s another lore book somewhere in this building btw 23:57 : “You’ll still join the race, non?” 25:03 : Oh, no getting weapons and consumables prepared first? I guess the Cross [armor type] gear is good enough, as it is ascended.. But like, idk, the modifiers can be pretty nice.. I guess that would take grinding though, yeah ok, nvm 25:58 : Yeah, Lukas confirmed it is sufficient. Also, that’s probably the most avatars to appear on-screen at once, isn’t it? Well, idk, maybe there’s more in a moment when they all rush in, or some other time I’m forgetting.. 28:06 : “why’d the fire un-fire” part of it got hit by a stray wave orb 29:11 : the shock effect is pretty convenient for this orb thing 30:38 : “relatively weak to fire” : I think this is just because fire has a higher base attack stat 32:44 : this dungeon, unlike all the other dungeons other than the temple mine, has its own botanics! 33:37 : yep! It pretty much has an interaction with everything? 34:50 : fire *and shock* lady 37:54 : impressive first trying that :) 38:38 : totem pole enemies 39:00 : yep, combo when colors match Tricky to handle when there’s 3 columns… 39:30 : I forgot this interaction
I assume sidwell made several evotars of himself to do the spying and in this dungeon Luke and Lukas say something about cloning evotars for boss fights.
@ Ooh! I remember that conversation, but I hadn’t considered that possibility! Perhaps!
@drdca8263 with how often ctron was on and he said their was 20 people to spy on that was the only way I could see it happening
0:46 : well, this isn’t the final version of the drill. The final one is decent iirc? 2:04 : in particular, if you have the right modifiers, (“royal guard” I think?) it can be pretty easy to like, perfect guard the fugu fish flamethrower as a continuous thing, and with a little bit of pin body, you can largely make them defeat themselves against your shield. 2:05 : Ah, there they are! Not sure what made them appear upon respawn, but, nice to have them there :) 4:01 : the cousin of the tims. I forget the name. 5:52 : one last SP bar extension 8:04 : LOOORREEE (Seems to deal with the origin of instatainment and instant matter) 10:46 : that’s not a bug. She can’t help the trembling. (Related to her quest) 11:38 : haha, I either didn’t see or forgot about C’tron’s comment about this water. 13:16 : finally going to get the other two kinds of combat arts in the neutral circuit?? 16:13 : that was the first tier 3 combat are I unlocked. 19:47 : he used the combat art where you perfect guard an attack and get a bit of time-stop . A pretty strong effect. 22:01 : well, the good news is you can challenge him to a rematch in the arena 23:40 : well, 70, but his equipment is also level 70. Yours is a little lower atm I think. Ah, right, 72. Not level 70, my mistake. (I guess maybe level 72 is the minimum level for the ascended gear such as the Cross gear? And above that it will match your level? Unless it is just showing *your* level?) 24:04 : ah yeah your average equipment level is only 59… Huh. 25:10 : nice :) glad you did the duel again after getting commensurable equipment
I'm glad I did too seeing the Joren and Apollo scene was nice
0:23 : Oh! Sao! His quest line is funny. And the weapon it grants is quite nice! (Changes things a surprising amount. Not overpowered, but both pretty good and pretty cool) 0:50 : Nice, very fitting! (Equipping the Kunoichi for the Sao fight) 4:16 : … but despite my initially being in denial about it, indeed, you were correct 5:37 : this half-lidded expression C’tron makes.. 8:12 : “why did I have a memory of that?” : I *think* that was C’tron’s memory/dream? 8:37 : I don’t know why she goes to the kitchen when she wakes up. Maybe she has an impulse to have breakfast? Or… wash her face?? I don’t think she understands why either. 8:56 : hehe, I said that it’s always funny when she hugs Joern (I actually forgot that it happened again, I just meant every time I see it) 13:31 : these ones scale with your level! (Though at top level of the shop, there are other equipment that have modifiers *and* scale with level) 15:44 : not forming a party? 16:13 : I like these fugu fish 18:10 : “there’s a book up there. What’s that book for?” : for reading of course! (rather, adding it to the encyclopedia, where you can read it) 20:53 : if you do go chest hunting in this area, I recommend bringing a party because there’s fun commentary
I imagine being a hard worker and gamer shizuka probably was a coffee drinker and got one first thing in the morning if I had to guess
@@OfficialSimplyDudesGaming Ah! That makes more sense than “washing hands/face” that I had been thinking! And at least as much sense, and quite possibly more sense, than “breakfast more generally”.
3:57 : yeah, Luke having some… well, it’s all a bit fast of a change to get used to, isn’t it? 5:49 : on the opposite side of the track this time. It’s a mirror image! I think I mentioned this then, but more ambiguously: if you use glitches to get to this side during the original raid, you can see dialogue from Luke ! 8:29 : “Instructions completed. :|” 10:18 : “beating up my AI colleagues”, yeah, so, he didn’t break down, but… he’s definitely still going through things… 12:06 : “[red]Task: Buggy what the heck?![/red]” : I think it’s pretty funny that even the UI is complaining about Buggy’s performance 13:36 : “you alright over there, Luke?” : he really isn’t.. Yeah, “struggling mentally” is a pretty good description 17:53 : perhaps they might all have a little nervousness before stepping on these teleporters even though no reason there would be a problem this time? 18:01 : yeah 19:10 : Yeah! Quite the surprising boss! 22:15 : “worst column tackler understands” : :) 25:37 : another full-screen cutscene-only graphic ( like looking up at the tower in vermillion wasteland, or looking at the continent from the boat at the start). These aren’t all that frequent, but they always look nice 29:56 : oh, I guess his account being gone explains why he no longer appears in the friends list, huh. I hadn’t noticed that. 32:06 : I’m not sure if this is a flashback Lea is having, or just like, the game showing the player something, like how it showed gautham at his computer a few times (either talking to Sidwell or having just put the finishing touches on his ultimate experience.) 32:22 : oh, right, it isn’t Lea’s memory… 32:30 : wow, I had hoped he was just an employee or something (because I like C’tron ) but..
The idea of being in a game free from the stress of work and shit sounds good but I think I'd miss little things about my day to day
DLC time! (btw I haven’t actually played the last plot point/ending of the DLC yet. Due to switching computers I had a forced significant gap in playing it right before the last major plot point, and it didn’t feel right to pick it up right at that point without doing some refamiliarization first? - I think I’ll probably play it around the time you get to that part?) 0:20 : Whose memory(?) is this? 0:56 : I forgot that it said her name 1:06 : probably something like that.. 1:26 : Hehe, Sergey’s avatar outfit 2:56 : I think part of the purpose of this sequence is to remind players of things they may have forgotten between when they beat the game and when the DLC came out 4:04 : Homesteadt. I don’t know why the t is there. I guess because German? 10:07 : “just going to call it ‘homestead’” : I think that is how it is pronounced, yeah 12:08 : “at least he didn’t break down” : yep 20:20 : I think the names of players in the “last-minute heros” guild are from backers 20:50 : there is a quest with them later though, and some funny dialogue One of the characters there maintains a guide for CrossWorlds , and is based on someone who was maintaining a guide for CrossCode while it was still in early access. 23:32 : Huh, not sure why Emilie is offline here? 30:34 : yep! Global quest hub! 30:49 : “kinda a small amount” : well, it doesn’t include the hidden ones or the ones that have unmet prerequisites iirc? So for quest chains, only the first is listed 33:32 : don’t forget to enable the chest detector if you want it to work 33:44 : If you want hints-for or statements-of the locations of the items the boosters require, I would be happy to look them up and provide said hints or statements (the NPC did say to talk to other players for help regarding their locations after all) (Or you could check the wiki for each, that’s also an option) 35:34 : “Guten - abend?” : I imagine that means “evening”? Just a guess 37:17 : there’s somewhere in this building one of those captains log entry (LORE) things for the encyclopedia iirc 37:41 : you can turn on that TV btw 38:06 : haha, indeed, it is not through the house
I forgot that I had to turn the chest detector on I managed to realize it later tho
Going to try to catch up on these now 3:27 : seems like rest helped the earlier practice on this fight sink in? Or maybe just because of being more rested, rather than that specifically 6:41 : “One worthy of the ultimate experience!!” 7:35 : “The real experience begins now! High into the sky, we shall rise!!” : this is the point where I left my computer at overnight , because I didn’t know if I would have to redo the first part if I quit the game at start of next part (I’ve been told that it probably would have the autosave at the start of the coming stage even if I had closed the game during it though.) 7:52 : I like the piano music here And yeah, this is a different boss as counted by the enemy classification encyclopedia thingy / Pokédex (Idr the name the game uses for it. Monster fibula??) First is “The Designer” and second “The Creator” I think? Both are Gautham though. 8:01 : “Years of creation. Years of searching for the ultimate experience. It has brought us together to this place. So it shall all be concluded. With one final duel.” 8:18 : *piano riff* *shout* 8:56 : some people take a little while to realize they can climb the trunk when he does this 16:11 : “The time has come to rise further beyond!” : when I first saw this line, I was reminded of one scene from Dragon Ball Z (I haven’t even watched DBZ. But the like, “this is a Super Saiyan. Now this is a Super Saiyan that has surpassed Super Saiyan, or a Super Saiyan level 2. And now, to go even further beyond [AAAAAAHHHHHH] “ line.) But, yeah, 16:17 : “A ridiculous HP buff…” : I guess the event with the snail really left an impression on Gautham. 19:27 : hm, I wonder if it would have been an improvement if Gautham’s dungeon had had a few chests with some healing items in them? Though I guess there’s the issue of that making it so some chests could be permanently missable maybe? 20:38 : A glancing blow, but looks like it counted! Also, surprised you used melee to launch it. Easier to aim with throw I think? 21:41 : fast thinking! I messed this one up the first few times I think. 23:33 : hmmm… I think part of the issue might be that your equipment and level are slightly low ? 26:29 : it took me a while to be able to dodge those wave bouncy ones. You seemed to get them right away? 29:10 : yeah, it only gives you enough orbs to, at best, get your attack multiplier up to his HP modifier.. 29:25 : “oh these don’t give any more after “ yeah 33:11 : I didn’t realize it was possible to hit it above it.. 33:58 : some pretty big numbers 42:16 : bunch of combinations attack 42:58 : yeah he just lets you hit him at this point Individual attacks doing like 10^18 damage 43:27 : combat streak I think? Just, “you were in combat for 20 minutes straight”. 43:35 : “And thus… the experience is over. Our desire… has been fulfilled. Our purpose… has been served.” 44:02 : Instant matter doesn’t stand up well to being walked on with the weight of a human body… 45:04 : Yep. That… That was Gautham’s story. Also, for a game where much of the gameplay is based on combat, that is one of only 2 deaths of characters that appear on-screen (the other being Satoshi, in the prologue, and he kind of survived his death) 46:49 : Sidwell is a really weird guy! 47:47 : “It certainly was nice… watching you out there.” : now how could he have done that? But, Yeah, Sidwell is super weird! 50:41 : The dialogue there is slight different depending on whether you have the booster item for the area enabled (which makes the hedgehags there more powerful) 55:10 : this hug with Joern is always funny 1:03:24 : Well, you called it! 1:04:14 : good ending (prior to the DLC, that conversation was the main difference between the good and bad endings. In bad ending all the evotars get deleted, but it lets you turn back the clock while keeping levels etc. , in order to get the good end ) 1:04:22 : Meta Space 1:04:23 : “I knew some was wrong with Tronny“ : you did! 1:04:50 : note the star indicating completed game. Save files with this star are what NG+ games are based on.
2:14 : hmmm… it seems like you are taking more damage from shock attacks when hit by them? I don’t know why this would be.. I suppose adding some shock resistance things in the wave circuit might help… 3:39 : there you go! 5:39 : cleaning them all out once you get the first one fully down, is pretty fast 5:49 : “We seek the ultimate experience. However, just as we reached the creative freedom required to create it… With a heavy heart… we realized something else was amiss. The source of the experience. A player… to enjoy it.” Reminds me of the “and you! (for playing it)” at the end of the credits for various games. 6:14 : Hehe, yeah :) Grand finale of puzzles right here. 6:44 : ice to shock to heat to wave, clockwise in the same order as in the element wheel 10:03 : that was close. Fast reaction time 11:00 : hard to realize the choice of “should that ice be destroyed now?” in such a short window of time Yes, it is a bit of a troll :) 11:39 : yep, I think I heard that having it not set up right even if someone executed all the time-sensitive parts right, was something they thought would be too annoying or something/discouraging/other-adjective ? Or maybe I’m just remembering someone’s speculation, idr. 13:52 : Eyy! Fewer tries than most (all?) I’ve seen before. I don’t know that I’ve seen someone do that wave part first try before! 13:56 : “We seek the ultimate experience. Yet all we found… was misery day after day. The lifeless shells of players, flowing through the worlds we created. Devoid of joy, far from the experience we desired. Over time… we realized, in our dismay, that our creations turned into bland routine.” 14:16 : Omega. Haha. 17:10 : I think technically you could go to the shop in vermillion wasteland and buy some sandwiches? 22:43 : you called it! (The Arengee) 24:18 : I think the background and stage layout here is cool :) 24:20 : [continue writing comment here (perhaps I should have waited until could watch full video at once, given climactic…, though personally when I got to this point I had to go to sleep with the game paused at the halfway point of the fight, haha)]
It's ok I didn't manage to finish it cause I also had to sleep sadly
24:28 : “Once an empty vessel, a caged bird. Now back again, whole and free! Filled with boundless resourcefulness… born out of hope! You are the one! The player we desired!” and thus… The ultimate experience… shall begin!!” 24:54 : “is that how many he had before?” : yes, though the most that it was possible to get through before was half of them iirc 28:03 : “through turrets of thunder” 29:56 : “through spikes of freezing ice..” 30:28 : “… you prevailed!” 31:00 : “through a barrage of vibrating bullets…” 31:33 : “… you prevailed!” 31:50 : aw 36:59 : I think I remember being a little annoyed that when doing this fight, it didn’t give me the time to use a stat-buffing consumable before starting it, just immediately going into the fight upon reloading 37:17 : “Through swirls of burning fire…” “… you prevailed!” 38:45 : fully dodged the two rows of rocks thing that time. It is a hard attack to dodge when you need to shoot par of one side first! 41:10 : “The one worthy of the ultimate experience!!” 42:06 : ah! With the “once more” and just a little bit before the halfway checkpoint. I mean, I know I knew this because the other video had already come out, but it was still dramatic 43:21 : regarding “too many phases” : it’s definitely a good thing it autosaves at the midpoint of the fight.. I think that like, if you want to have one health bar for each elemental attack he does, then you kind of need a minimum of 8, and you want a final one as well, so, maybe they could have gone down to like, 12 health bars? (An initial health bar to introduce the mechanics of the fight, one for each element, and a final one, and then all of that times two for the two phases of the fight?) or a minimum of 9? But, yeah, I guess 16 was maybe a bit much..? Idk
@@drdca8263 compared to the other bosses it's a big jump I get wanting to do a bunch of the elemental stuff but if they just made it so you could start the next bar it would cut down on the time of the fight I don't think anyone likes having to redo 5 minutes of a fight over and over
Let's go Billy never die!
2:07 : cast forests, majestic mountains, mysterious caves… Any place that can harbor a story and nourish a memory. 2:18 : “why you talking ‘we’? “ : Hasn’t Gautham’s blue avatar character (“the Designer”) always used the “royal we”? 2:58 : “ah, I see!” : yep! 3:40 : these “shoot the pillar repeatedly quickly” pillar things… they pretty much only showed up in the tutorial part at the start, and here, didn’t they? 4:55 : yeah, you need to use an element so that it will travel up the torch, but the element specifically can’t be either of Heat nor Cold, So it has to be either Shock or Wave, despite not having anything specific to either of those. A little unusual? I always thought it was a little strange that the neutral shot can’t go up or down the torches like that. 7:27 : I think almost everyone spends a while trying to do this puzzle in this way. It really seems like if one gets it at just the right angle, one could do it, but I don’t think it can work. 9:37 : “I can’t shoot through this” : hehe 12:11 : aw, I hope that puzzle didn’t get too frustrating.. I also found it pretty confusing, but the “oh, wave ball interacts with ice puck in this way” was I thought a nice revelation. I suppose it would be easier if that was revealed earlier when it was the only thing that could be done? 13:40 : :? I guess you didn’t see the “!” at 12:38 when you shot it with fire? 15:35 : this ice puzzle is a bit tricky. It messes with an assumption that is fundamental to most “blocks sliding on ice” puzzles: that the blocks positions are on a grid with the same size as the block. 20:21 : as you may have noticed, each of these puzzles are based on a different combination of 2 of the 4 elements (and not the heat/cold nor wave/shock pairs) 22:59 : got that one pretty quick 23:30 : “I wasn’t getting break on the other one” : you only very briefly used fire against it, I guess you maybe were dodging the shots so didn’t see it working? 24:28 : fast fight Also, it dropped 1337 money. 26:37 : “why is this one so much harder, man?” : part of it might be that the Heat element has the lowest defense stat, and you are staying in the Heat mode in the part where you are trying to dodge its ice attacks, which Heat is weak to? But also just, its attacks fill more of the room. 27:56 : “We seek the ultimate experience. Yet our means have been restricted.” “True creative freedom is what we required.” 29:18 : “I don’t know if I’ve fought this thing yet.” : Well, Lukas’s evotar did? (The “incomplete rhino”) 30:58 : “would have been good if they did this one *first*” : … probably would have, yeah.. 33:38 : got this one pretty fast. Speaking of skips, you can actually skip all of these puzzles by using the tier 2 neutral melee art you’ve been using with the buzz-saw to hit the things in the central room that you hit after beating the turret boss. 33:46 : oh, this one confused me for a while.. 37:34 : a fair number of people would just slowly push the box around each time, instead of teleporting it, for some reason 40:22 : pretty fast 42:50 : almost immediate! Well done 44:50 : that was fast! Guess the earlier ones got you warmed up? 45:08 : this fight I had a fair bit of trouble with 47:12 : ..and that’s why I had trouble with it. The shots move so fast! 48:54 : “Obtained the creative freedom we deemed necessary. Finally we could give shape to everything our mind had to offer.” 49:35 : An “Arengee”, that other thing the evotar of Lukas fought with you 50:36 : surprise fight 52:16 : I had *lots* of trouble with this fight. As you found, you can choose which one to fight first. There’s also a little bit of a skip where if you… I don’t actually remember how it is done? But if you can somehow beat the first one of them the first time around, you can beat them all while only going around once, because each gives you as many of the shield things as you need once you defeat it. 57:48 : Seeing as it is the “after its first half of health is down” part that is the harder part, I think it might make sense for you to do the Shock one *second*, so that it is the first one that you actually damage, so that you deal with that part as soon as possible.
I guess I didn't realize he was always using the royal we. If the fight had a different ability then the bouncing shot or opened up the space I think it would be pretty easy but the close quarters of the area makes it hard for me to react to the shots.
0:53 : “too late now” : as it turns out, not really, they give you one more chance before entering, which is kinda funny? (Also technically nothing prevents you from leaving even when doing the first part of this[edit: by which I mean, before entering the tower].. though it doesn’t really feel right to do so, haha) 2:53 : what buggy says here is 13 buts long, not even a multiple of 4 bits, much less a multiple of 8. There’s no hidden message, he just tried to pick random bits. 5:22 : I think that “it was very entertaining to watch you beat up Polly like that” is one of the lines that depends on how many of the duels you won (wouldn’t exactly make sense if you had lost them all, right?) 6:14 : these lines as well 7:03 : .. 7:12 : “a feeling that he’ll show up real real soon” : hmm… 10:05 : “they were like level 90 last time, right?” : were they? I’ll go check, but I thought they were the same level and just your level changed? But I guess evotar Lukas’s level should have been pretty close to Lukas’ current level (As I don’t think Lukas’s level changed much in that time?) so, maybe they were substantially higher level? Idr. Then again, the thing that got him was the laser, not the robots? 11:27 : yeah, Lukas is perceptive about this kind of thing. 11:53 : Sergey sending a prerecorded message (see Emilie “paused” in the background) so Lea can process it quickly 14:23 : err, you just need to get them close to an evotar after defeating them, so that the effect applies to evotar, and *then* get them hit with the laser Though I’m sure you’ll get that momentarily 15:54 : ah, there 17:39 : ok now you got it 24:07 : Oh! The “once-more” came in clutch there! 27:21 : the leveling system is pretty good I think at keeping players at a reasonable level when the player isn’t deliberately staying under-leveled or deliberately over-leveling 33:19 : Hello, Shizuka :) 34:22 : How’d that guy get stuck on the other side of that wall?? 37:32 : “what’s going aaa” haha, Yep 38:44 : I find the fact that he calls the evotars “some data”, and yet very much seems to have (or at least to have had) the kind of fondness that one would have for a person, towards Lea? Sidwell seems to me, a very strange person. 42:04 : “WE BEG TO DIFFER!” :) Well, let’s see what’s up with Gautham Or, I guess next time.
10:50 i hate that shield too, but it refills if you resume from checkpoint and every gear level makes you stronger.

I didn't even notice god we are blind
0:16 : “Albert-kun” : haha 4:02 : no dream that time. I guess she wasn’t offline very long? 4:06 : “good morning” : oh, I guess it is the next day. I forgot. 4:39 : “Autumn Leaves x1” : I don’t know why it seems that you just collected some autumn leaves… weird. 6:46 : ticking clock 8:10 : ticking clock stops 10:18 : One thing about the scene with the pre-recorded message, it makes me wonder if the time Sergey sent her the message at the start of the crab boss fight on the ship at the start, where it was displayed in the same kind of format, did he also like, record that whole message and then (immediately afterwards) send it to her? He seemed kind of to respond to her facial expressions during it, which makes me think it was likely live and not recorded as a whole and then sent, but the way the message is shown visually is much like that prerecorded message, so.. idk? 12:04 : ah, there’s the people asking for the final dungeon (Which is a major portion of the DLC) There’s also a couple jumping puzzles in this room using wave teleportating 15:05 : I think this (answering yes here) is the cut-off where you have to have done the meeting with Vesterovich that you just did, before doing 18:21 : Sergey, really is not great at uh, phrasing things in ways to avoid worrying others? I don’t think I phrased that well.. 18:29 : ah, yes, that’s a better phrasing. 19:09 : I think here she wants to express thanks but doesn’t have that word 19:35 : ! 20:11 : So, that’s how she got her name. (“Nostalgic”?) 20:47 : I think this part is interesting and confusing. It seems she can read just fine, and she can choose among options to indicate ideas, but apparently she struggles to remember long-term the signs for things, and she can’t write? This seems somewhat counterintuitive. 21:32 : A very strange character, isn’t he? 21:57 : hmm.. what hand motion was she trying to do? 22:45 : yeahhh….. uhh… Idk 23:18 : a boundless sea of stars… 23:50 : “trying to get his wife or girlfriend back” : uhh.. I didn’t get that impression? (Also I’m not even sure if the relationship he had with the woman he mentioned was a romantic one? Maybe it was, idk.) I guess there’s the question of “why else would he mention that woman from his past?” I guess maybe it is to make his relation to Lea more interesting by making it so he finds her being mute as a reason to spend more time with her? 24:22 : Now she has the word for it! 26:59 : giving Apollo and Joern the pass needed to access that particular part of the guild housing area 27:41 : hehe 32:44 : Yep, an endearing scene :) Oh, btw, when you go through the entrance, when everyone is running through, each of them will stop at a different location, until you go a ways past where they stopped, where you can have a brief conversation with them, which are easy to accidentally miss. Doesn’t change what happens or anything, but I think it is a nice sequence of one-on-one conversations before the action. For some reason I’m reminded of an earlier thing where at a certain point in the plot, if you contact Buggy on a direct link, he tells a joke where he acts like he is offering a free [item that sells for decent money in the shops] (iirc pretending she is the [large number]th caller), but requires that she do something she can’t do as a result of the speech synchronization issues to claim the prize, but ends up being upsetting because of the “concerns about being real” thing, though he assumes what she is upset about is the joke at the expense of her speech synchronization issues. Seeing her upset over this (which he did not intend) he gives her the item for real.
They try and make sidwell seem more humane then just a criminal asshole so I assume they mentioned the woman as someone he cared about a lot usually a gf or wife and lost her to something he even named Lea presumably after her. It could be I'm reading the situation wrong
2:00 : ah right, this is when 3:34 : yeah, despite what evotar-Lukas thought, from the perspective of others, he hadn’t gone missing.. 4:23 : hmm? 6:42 : I suppose you probably would have still done this if I hadn’t mentioned it 8:20 : this house is tied the Gurren Lagan quest stuff 10:53 : I like that particular jumping navigation + portal thing in front of the arena 13:36 : I might have remembered wrong about jumping on the trucks? I know I did it a number of times, but might not be *needed* for anything in the base game.. 14:35 : oh, yeah, it was probably the cards in the area just -below- [oops, was just above not just below] (but can technically get to the chest without them I think?) 15:14 : there you go 17:23 : I have also spent more time attempting to car hop across than it would take me to just go around. I guess because if I do manage the car hop in one or two tries it is faster, and then when I fail, I still have the same choice again? 17:30 : oh! *that’s* the place where you jump on the truck, now I remember. 20:56 : yep, that’s how you get the good ending (after reaching either ending it lets you rewind the plot until pretty much the dream at the start of this video to get the other ending, in case one initially got the bad ending. One also needs the good ending to play the DLC postgame.)
C'tron just appears at werid times in the story and it feels like he has info about whats going on but I'm probably looking too deep into it
@@OfficialSimplyDudesGaming Interesting!

Smooth gameplay 😅😅 I love this game Tips If you have a forge pick the helmet section and go for brown minions to increase your minions horde it helps against tough enemies
I plan on farming some browns to use on equipment
0:38 : I think it is fitting to have the broken Chakrams be the last one, because that’s the weapon type associated with spheromancers. 1:48 : Huh! I hadn’t seen this dialogue! I guess if you have the “noting the unusually rectangular tree/bamboo/whatever” thing with no one else in your party, Sergey talks about it. I’m also surprised that this didn’t trigger earlier? Surely you were next to it earlier as well? I don’t know why it didn’t trigger then. 2:26 : I made an incorrect guess as to how to go on this navigation bit, I thought I was supposed to get on top of the bamboo, and so I tried to get on top of it in the area above by jumping from some things that aren’t really meant to be stood on. As it turns out, the screen border region thing doesn’t actually exist on top of that bamboo, so getting on top of it there wouldn’t actually get me on top of the bamboo in this room. 3:41 : yeah, it takes a while for the timer to run out if you mess up the start… I think leaving and re-entering the room will end the timer letting you restart it? But, makes sense to practice the first part of it without the timer first I think? 9:44 : I think going straight south might also work but involve trickier jumps? 10:46 : huh, I hadn’t realized, or forgot, that any of the switches can go first 13:18 : huh! Didn’t realize they would go up walls like that 14:46 : fire spiders! These ones you don’t use fire to kill.. 15:11 : ah dang, didn’t realize hadn’t autosaved clearing the rocks.. 20:04 : more “from the side” than “behind” 21:43 : thought pretty fast there I think the “dodging by the teleport thing” is pretty cool :) 26:04 : there you go! 29:10 : huh, with the quest requiring one player from each class… I guess that means Ketin D’kar has one specific class despite the weird multi-class design.. I guess if the classes of the two of his kids that showed up at this time can be estimated, that would narrow it down to one of 3. I expect the guy in green is a triblader, and probably the gal in yellow is… pentafist maybe? Well, she’s yellow, not orange, so maybe not. But my next guess would be triblader, but I think the guy in green is a triblader. She really doesn’t look like a quadroguard, I guess maybe she could be a hexacast or a spheromancer, but I wouldn’t think so.. Hm. Idk. 31:09 : (this is a separate thing from what I mentioned about Hlin earlier. The thing I mentioned about Hlin saying something is an unavoidable encounter) 33:34 : “not connected to any other quest” : So, Ketin D’kar kind of helped with that :) (Technically it is possible to get all of those items without ever talking to him. I don’t know for sure whether you can do the observatory quest without talking to him though? I’d guess yes..) 35:14 : if you use seeker senses here, you can see the names of the planets (the names in the world of CrossWorlds. These planets don’t all necessarily exist in the world of CrossCode . Not sure if you saw this mentioned in Rhombus Square (wasn’t not on-screen anyway, but I know you were looking around for D’kar off-screen, so maybe you saw it) someone there mentions that the while the name of the celestial body that CrossWorlds is set on, has the name “Shadoon” in the world of CrossWorlds, the name within CrossCode of the celestial body is “Raritan Gem”, and it is a moon orbiting some planet. 35:34 : “CP for all elements obtained”, “what?” : as if you gained a level as far as circuit points are concerned. For those playing a NG+ run with the “0 xp” modifier turned on (I haven’t done this), this is one of the few times where one can get any circuit points.
I mean the reward wasn't bad but I couldn't really tell how many I got. My guess is Ketin is the quadroquard of the family so he can protect his kids.
0:22 : the place from the prologue… 0:55 : :D 1:44 : music 3:29 : hm, Shizuka isn’t using Shock or Wave here. Not sure if she ever does in this fight. 3:43 : oh, there she uses wave, ok. 5:03 : well, getting just one stock on her is enough for the achievement at least… but yeah, not like the Apollo duels where he courteously gives you the chance to save the game before starting the duel, hehe 5:32 : she actually starts another duel if you 5-0 her as well. I think it happens as long as the number of total rounds is less than some threshold? I think the first duel might even end inconclusively if it is too close, but I’m not sure 8:39 : yep, got the “restless frustration” achievement 8:44 : no achievement for winning the duel, no 13:43 : that particular player, and evotar, has been seen before. That evotar is the one that was in that machine while you were escaping through the tower in vermilion wasteland, and that player is the one you can see in Basin Keep, who was talking to his friend about how at work hackers got into their network, as if they knew the passwords, even though he was so careful about security. 14:01 : yeah, that guy 20:54 : another zen garden in this room. 22:09 : a nice spot :) 23:08 : hehe 24:12 : “that is… nothing like me…” : I suppose this is an example of personality diverging in this one respect due to differences in circumstances. With Lea being limited to largely non-verbal communication, I suppose she had more reason to be more “touchy like that”. Also, I like the way Shizuka kind of half-smiles when says that 24:18 : “grown pretty different” : yeah! 24:46 : uh… , huh. I don’t know? Could it just be the different color top making it look that way? No, I don’t think that’s it.. Yeah uh, I really can’t think of a good in-universe explanation for that? Out of universe, maybe could like, give different impressions about their attitudes due to stereotypes? Or maybe just at some point in development, design changed slightly for one and wasn’t changed for the other at the same time in that respect? Idk.. 26:05 : now I can refer to the blue avatar as Gautham 27:41 : I don’t remember exactly how long until this comes up, so saying it now in case it would be in the next video: In order to get the good ending, when Hlin talks about Albert meeting someone, find that meeting before otherwise significantly progressing the plot (and then do what comes naturally)
I'm going to try and find Ketin D'Kar and do his quest next
1:10 : location of the dungeon that CrossWorlds staff is working on 2:50 : "It's as if he does not exist!" : :o 2:57 : "either this *fiend*", "friend" would have quite a different meaning, haha 6:23 : the culmination of the "that girl that keeps sitting on tables" uh, side-story-thing (I don't know what the right term is. "arc" doesn't seem right..) 11:23 : "what are those things?" : ah, this is your first time fighting the pandza enemies isn't it? Yeah, they spawn those turret things! Those turret things can I think be destroyed by a single charged shot? But still often hard to deal with, especially if they end up in hard to reach areas. The pandza enemies are kinda tough? 14:37 : Where did Emilie and C'tron go? 20:24 : hehe 22:28 : there's actually another player on the right side of that room (sometimes? I don't know under exactly what conditions she shows up. I think it is only once though?), who, seeing as the room is instanced, apparently *did* do some hacking? 29:00 : [anticipation]
I honestly thought he was an evotar so they got me with the sidequest. I realized when the boss fight started it was just a quest with no story implications
31:00 is a world map puzzle, click enter level 3 times in a place that's not a level, by a stone giants back. The howl at the red moon can only be done with Trish but the red moon is obviousband in level. The dead tree stump is a map puzzle. There's one puzzle in Foloi where there are 4 signs to read but each can only be read by one character because it takes a certain special move to hit them, so while a single player can swap a pair mid level they'll expect you to write notes and visit it twice.
Man secrets are way harder in this than I really expected
@@OfficialSimplyDudesGaming indeed. The devs wanted some real creative puzzles. Game reviewers got upset with them because the marketing emphasized the coop beat ups to preserve the surprise and mystery. Part of why despite being made between Rogue Legacy 1 and 2 it didn't do so well.

6:58 : warkeeper is pretty good 9:09 : countered! 9:42 : perfect guard, nice 10:09 : yeah, I had to ask for advice to beat the boss here, and the advice I got was “get counters by guarding at the right time. If that’s difficult for you, try equipment that increases the time available for perfect guard”, which really helped me 10:59 : I think maybe(??) only one of their two types of dash attacks can be countered like that, but I might be wrong.. 13:29 : oh, was that the type I thought maybe couldn’t be countered? Hm Oh I guess not 15:33 : “he looks cooollll”: :) 17:53 : the “ether snipe” tier 3 wave throw art can iirc pretty much one-shot him btw (if it hits on third bounce) 18:04 : Oh! I really thought you were going to get him on your first try. Very close! 25:07 : this joke about CrossWorlds being in early access, well, for a while CrossCode was in early access (though I didn’t know about it when it was), iirc the 4 element temples were in the game (or maybe just the first 2?) but the whole thing with the raid and Vermillion wasteland etc. was not (not being revealed until the full release) This led to something which is used in the any% speedruns. When updating from the early access version to the release version, there was some sort of “save fixing” mechanic that would iirc put you right at the part of the plot where you get teleported to the secluded area where you fight the mysterious blue avatar before he brings you to Vermilion Wasteland. In the any% speedrun, some save file corruption is done which triggers this “save file fixing” mechanism giving the option to jump to that part of the game, letting them get right to vermillion wasteland. (Also it’s possible that I’m getting mixed up and am thinking of the NG+ reach-level-100 speedrun) 25:38 : yep, you remembered correctly. A really high record for dungeon races for a first play through! (True gamer) 26:58 : you still have a bit of plot before the DLC becomes relevant (apparently there is one (1) quest that is part of the DLC that is prior to the postgame? I hadn’t thought there was any. [“EDIT”: ah wait, now I remember; it isn’t that there’s a quest that depends on the DLC. It’s something that the DLC makes available in the arena: pets. Idr if the arena has some pets regardless of DLC o and DLC just unlocks more, or if all the pets are DLC.]) Hm, speaking of, the game has 2 endings, but after getting one it very strongly hints at how to go back and get the other, and going back to get the other is pretty fast… With that in mind, when the time comes, do you want me to [give a hint for/explain] how to determine which ending you get, or just let that happen naturally? I wish I could ask this question in a way that doesn’t reveal that there are 2 endings but I didn’t see a way to do so. 27:55 : I think this map screen is kinda weird! No other part of the game has a similar navigation system. It looks pretty though 28:27 : I always found the items with modifiers more interesting, but the plain ones do have the benefit of not requiring any grinding 28:50 : yeah, lots of cool items here! (Iirc you can find two free antique tokens for free in a chest, which each let you get one of those 4 gear pieces based on mythological creatures. I rather liked the idea of an extra dash (because I’m always running from enemies, haha) so I got the Unicorn Greaves 29:30 : also, all of those items require the gems, which require the boosters. I kind of hope you try out the arena :) 29:48 : ah, not exactly a quest, more an explanation. Tells you what the booster items are for. 29:52 : oh good you talked to him 30:49 : I found the chest detector very useful in reaching 100% chest completion 31:12 : backer goods shop! 31:21 : the guacamole toast reduces the money dropped by enemies, which I think is funny 31:56 : It’s possible to land on that drifting truck playing eurobeat, pretty funny (doesn’t get you anything though) (Landing on the big long trucks is useful for something though iirc)
Most games nowadays have true endings so it's not much of a spoiler. And I have no problem with hints or anything.
1:38 : Characters in the room to your left are from some other game that iirc hadn’t been released yet when CrossCode was released? 2:33 : oh, there’s a character around here iirc who offers the only base-game quest I haven’t done (I skipped it for RP reasons I guess? But doing it is I think totally in line with Lea’s character, just not with what I would do in her situation, because I’m a bit of a rule-follower.) 4:43 : a Geta is a kind of shoe from Japan. They have like, a raised wooden platform? Perhaps you already knew this, but I did not know this when I encountered that guy. The shoes from that quest have a modifier that helps deal with a certain kind of movement hazard 7:58 : the Cross Sandwich has the benefit of being substantially faster to eat than some of the other sandwiches, while also giving the largest health restoration. It is pretty expensive though… 8:37 : two pairs of boots? Oh you caught it nvm 13:15 : iirc if you use seeker senses here, the bug you are to chase has a name (like, some ordinary first name) Which I think is kinda funny 17:49 : “Maybe I should have though?” (completed them in order) : doesn’t really matter the order 18:27 : these spiders are the ones from this area that can be encountered early in the villa of terror or whatever it was called 22:24 : Emilie doesn’t mind spiders “because they aren’t bugs” 25:06 : if you want to fight more spiders, there are a couple of variants of that you can try later, with a kind of high score system. Kind of like the quest with the ice monks and the jumping puzzles on ice that I don’t really recommend, or like the alcohol brewing minigame, in that it tracks your high score 30:17 : specifically, the Geta lets you walk through these kinds of webs without the webs impeding your motion 30:44 : I like to use the heat throw arts against the spiders. It feels fairly effective 32:05 : trial of patience time :) If you do this quest with no one in your party, Sergey tries to help by making a counter to count the taps for you, and adds it to the UI… … but he messes up and it shows the wrong number 34:00 : ah! Counted correctly the first time (.. I think) but moved instead of shot.. I guess the instructions could have been clearer in that regard. Or, if they had put the target behind one of those orange barriers, that would have done it. 34:34 : ah, here I think it maybe did 2 in quick succession? 35:12 : oh, I guess not. Yep, that’s the trial of patience. 37:19 : pretty sure that took me at least 3 tries..

Not sure if you knew, but the snipers heavy shot slows time while you hold it for up to 5 seconds or so. You can benefit the team that way.

15:30 the mk uktron are named after a workout
0:00 Ah, good that not locked out of it 8:07 : zoo with goats dialogue 9:19 : ah! Well, not the hat you were currently trying to obtain, but still a useful hat (increases drop rate for botanics when at higher combat rank iirc) 9:45 : I think that guy is one of the people to deliver a present to in the Christmas quest? 11:05 : yeah, 1% is a bit low… Maybe a different (rarer) plant drops it at a higher rate? Not sure The trading hub might also have some? Idr 15:11 : ah, I forgot that this quest was locked behind the top hat one. This one also gets you a slight discount when buying some items at that location iirc? Though at this stage of the game said discount probably isn’t that useful.. 15:41 : this side quest! Usually I don’t enjoy spooky things, and I suppose this side quest is like, barely even spooky? But it surprised me that I liked that part of it. Huh, surprised that it isn’t instanced. 16:28 : oh, I guess it is intentional that the still drop their flames. 16:57 : yep 17:51 : it’s kind of a maze that works by trial and error? I think the triggers are invisible and you have to remember where they are 18:36 : or… maybe it is just that you need to get the jumpsscare a certain number of times to continue?? 18:53 : hahaha I don’t think I’ve seen that dialogue before Glad you did it with a party, or I wouldn’t have seen this 20:37 : the scarecrown, a third hat! 3 hats in a row. This one is also pretty decent iirc. 21:14 : it says ????[…]??? Because it is an item you haven’t seen yet. Not sure why you haven’t… 23:41 : if you get enough metal gears in your inventory, iirc there’s an achievement which is a joke about the Metal Gear series? There’s a room in the temple mine where the cat robot that throws bombs repeatedly respawns, and allows grinding that item pretty fast? 29:47 : oh, is the discount just 1 currency unit? If so, I forgot that. That’s funny. 33:08 : Oh! This is the last quest I did before I went on the raid. (I was putting it off because I knew what would happen during the raid) I had a lot of difficulty with that quest.

Secret hints are definitely going to be a life saver
@@OfficialSimplyDudesGaming I figure a timestamp of you could find something here right now would be fair low spoiler. Do you want the solution for the first riddle you have or will your group try to work it out? It involves the very early parts of the world map .
@Kletian999 me and Sky got the first one at the end of part 5
@@OfficialSimplyDudesGaming great
Congratulations on the happiest ending imo. If you replayed chapter 6 you could answer Josephia to get Lucians Epilogue but i understand if you'd rather stop.
Got to leave some endings for people to go play it themselves.
