Lock Right Locker - Part 2: Install in Ford Ranger [HD]
Просмотров 301 тыс.14 лет назад
This is how I installed my Richmond Lock Right. Includes how I solved the pin removal problem, and the grinding of the ring gear. I can't say I did it correctly, or that you should do it like this. This is model 1830-LR which I install in my 1998 Ford Ranger 2WD which I often use for Off-Roading Mudding, etc... This is going to be a similar procedure on most cars and trucks, and nearly identica...

This is my explanation, as I understand it, for how the Richmond Lockright works. This is model 1830-LR which in Part 2 I'm going to install in my 1998 Ford Ranger 2WD which I often use for Off-Roading Mudding, etc... See Part 2: ruclips.net/video/WTKnGRNzigA/видео.html

Small Potato Cannon
Просмотров 6 тыс.16 лет назад
A small potato canon I built for my friend Chris in his garage. He'd never seen one before, so he was a little surprised at the power. Fuel Used: Publix brand Spray Deodorant (first ingredients: alcohol, propane, butane) Warning: Don't try this at home kids! I don't accept any responsibility for anyone trying to copy what you see in this video.
Inside a Dell PowerEdge 2950

Just got a new Dell PowerEdge 2950 III with 2 Xeon Quad-Core @ 2.3Ghz, 1333Mhz FSB, 4GB Memory, four 15K RPM SAS Hard Drives, and a DRAC 5 Card. Decided to give a little tour of the hardware for people unfamiliar with rack mount servers and how they fit everything in there. Edited together with iMovie (I use Mac at home... I can only take so much Microsoft in one day)
Hurricane Katrina flooded hallway
Просмотров 47316 лет назад
My hallway duringh hurricane Katrina. The video was taken during a calm spot, there were gusts, but I could open the door safely. People forget that Katrina passed through South Florida before hitting New Orleans. We did'nt fare nearly as bad, but it was eventful for people who live here.
Brilliant, thanks
Best explanation I seen after watching many RUclips videos about putting these in the front and rear of my GEO Tracker Thanks.
Do you think these would be alright putting into an ifs?
ASMR
Good explanation,thanks.
Garbage mine was assembled correctly and didn't last 6 miles
This is the best description of a locking differential I’ve ever seen in my life
👍Works great for me, with only a rear drive 2x4. It was what got me out of a jam on a wet farm, with unexpectef sticky grassy mud. Yeah, I went sideways a few times in that instance, but I didn't have to walk a few miles to get a tow truck. No problems with snowy weather, but I don't drive it hard then, of course. Practiced on an empty parking lot ASAP. Ratcheting noise: so what. Not quite as bad as a bicycle freewheeling gear cluster.
thank you, sir. if only you had 4 or more hands ))
Why the violent popping ??
I ran into the same issue on my Jeep axle with 4.10 gears. Pulling the carrier wasn't bad. Just takes some time. I'll probably do the same ok my ranger.
I put these lockers in the front and in the rear of my old Chevy pickup 9 years ago. It's a hunting vehicle primarily, so about 80% on-road/20% off-road. It now has 40,000 miles on those lockers and they have performed beautifully. Every 2-3 years, I'll get a loud BANG from the rear, but the instructions that came with the Lock-Rights warned of this happening and it is neither bothersome nor harmful. I would not put them in a high-horsepower/big-tire/rock crawler, but for normal use on street and low-traction off-road situations (mud and/or snow/ice, which is where I need them), they work well.
That ring looks like a 4.56 or 4.88… not a 3.73 at all. The 3.73 ring doesn’t ever need mods made to fit the standard full cylinder pin.
Is this the ranger with the lockright?
Lock Right Locker- turn your daily commute into a thrill of a lifetime.
very good video great explanation
Please add a disclaimer at the beginning of both of your videos, I just watched them both for nothing, I wanted to see the install
Thanks a lot now and just now i understand how it work thanks
The weak link is the stock carrier. Bv
So basically the only thing that this locker can differ from "making a turn" (one wheel faster than the other) and "getting stuck" (one wheel up in the air, or one wheel losing traction on mud, or simply one wheel faster than the other again) is the throttle? In other words, how can the locker know when is a turn or when I'm getting stuck? Great video, thanks.
If you apply ANY throttle in a turn, they will lock up. Coast around the turn and the wheels will freely turn at different speeds, albeit with a faint clicking noise.
This man using doms as gloves
6:49 what was that loud bang?
Just take the differential out then remove the ring gear the way Ford intended for it to be done
This locker is off road only at best. In my opinion it is total crap for every day driving and almost crap in a off-road only application. Good luck.
Thank you.
Thanks so much, this explanation helped a lot! Definitely getting one now
you always go straight. no right or left turn at the stop. can we use the separate handbrake. block that the left wheel for example.
4 Every action has a reaction.... Great video 💎
Explain to me how you pulled the carrier pin out , with oily rubber gloves 🤔
I just installed one in my econoline 150 8.8 rear end. Geat product for the price. With the Copper AT3 tires on it already it is very solid off road within reason. This type of product is a must for 2wd vehicles that see snow and or off road use. Thanks for the geat explanation, i used your videos among others to decide on this unit
Cool
Realy Great Video! I watch a lot video of locker, only now i can understood how it's work! your explanation was simple and perfectly clear! Thanks you for sharing from italy! xD!!!
I dont think i would put another lock right in. They are hard on a system. When I put a locker on my Ranger I would like to go with something I can turn on and off mechanically
2020 Used to own one of these back in the days.
SWEET!!!
This shows that this was posted ten years ago but I find it extremely informative and helpful. Thank you very much for posting this!
5:36 then buy a tripod.
Word of the day- okay
where did you buy this???
It looks fun. I put almost every car and truck I've owned through a lot of mud. Some don't end up well at the end. But it was fun.
Well explained.
holy mother of god in heaven
Terrible install video
2019 anyone ?
I hardly notice the ratcheting and it's a lot quiter once oil is at the proper level. Your right a lot of people complain about the noise but honestly don't know why they even care. Look at what you are gaining for a little bit of clicking while turning.
You are correct sir good job explaining the lockrite 👍
I put one of these in a 70 as nova with a 406 small block with a 144 supercharger. And it kicks in and out even in a straight line when on the gas. The first time I put on a set of slicks at the track I noticed it kicking in and out. The weird thing is it only kicks posi when touching the brakes. Dont know why any explanation?
well , i AM an engineer and that was an excellent explanation.i now see why the installation instructions say that you will notice some noises when cornering
Great Explanation, THANKS!
I believe you don't have to clearance the gear on an 8.8. Correct me if I'm wrong.
