If you can do 23m you can prob get down to 21:30 fairly easily over the next year. It gets exponentially harder from there but when you hit your 30s you can probably hit the 20m mark. Just gotta get used to the pain

Great video 😊 I wouldn't be too hard on yourself because you ran an all out 8,4,2 in the same day. I would not recommend that😂
Thanks mate. It was pretty hard switching between these different distances. Much easier to do 50, 100 and 200 meters.
Kopz, please run at the track in the opposite direction next time.
Hahahahahah my drone wasn‘t having it either. But I will thank you for the remark😊😅
Bro 29s 200m is like running 14.5s 100m x2, if ur just unfit and unable to maintain top speed then understandable but if your fastest 100m time is 14.5s then thats ur problem, thats way too slow to the point of being pointless testing any further distances if ur base line is already slow, you're essentially just running slow for longer.
Thanks for pointing it out. My 100m is 13 seconds, I just couldn‘t hold the top speed, but maybe try a 200 meter after an 800m, 5xtrials of 400m and with minimal rest 200m. That‘s why I lost so much time and couldn‘t hold the pace. But you‘re right I might also not be fit enough to hold the pace for 200m
My 800 time is 2:12 at 11 my 400 is 1.03 at 11 and my 200 is 26 at 11
That‘s madly insane. Planning to to professional with those times?
Never ran the 800m (880 yards in my running days). I used to run the one mile, two mile, three mile and today's top marathoners run at a pace of 4:40/mile, occasionally dropping a sub-4:30 mile into their races. My best was 4:26 so I'd never be able to keep up the pace they run for more than one or 1.5 miles (about 2.5km).
But that‘s already very insane, keeping up that distance for 2.5 km. Respect
I've seen a lot of similar videos, but I think yours is the first on the 800, which was cool to see - props for that. I don't think the track events (middle distance especially) get enough respect amongst average runners compared to the marathon. By the way, you probably could've done better if you gave yourself more time to rest after that 800, 10 minutes was definitely not enough lol... even 30 minutes is a short turnaround for 2 all out efforts for very fit high level runners. Also, since everyone else is dropping their PRs in the comments, I guess I'll join in: 200 - 25.5 400 - 54.8 (Fun fact: Jakob Ingebrigtsen went out in this for his first lap of the Olympic 1500 final... which is also about world record pace for this distance.) 800 - 1:58.2 The mile has always been my favorite distance though. A bit over 4 laps, it's intense but just a nice rhythm and mentally very manageable, challenging but fun.
Thanks matr for all the additional advice and info. Yeah I felt dead after all those trials especially the 400 meter run where I had to refilm about 4 times, bc of my drone… I found it very interesting to see how long I can hold that pace for. That‘s insane 1500m 🙄🙄🙄. You‘re doing an amazing job as well, congrats and keep going😊
Maybe I should try the one mile as well
100 - 11.02 200 - 22.61 400 - 51.1 800 - 1:57 1500 - 4:02 I’m a college athlete, age 19. About 65 mpw with three workouts a week for training, 1 endurance session, one speed session.
11 flat is really damn good for someone who's not a pure sprinter, though I bet your 400 and 800 times could be a lot faster if you focused specifically on them. My 800 and 1500 times from last season are right around yours, but I only have 54s 400m speed (more of a distance guy).
@@crimsonreaper835 I started out with sprints in high school and then moved to distance once I realized 11 flat wasn’t gonna get me very far in college. I did 1:57/4:02 in my first track season of pure distance so I expect it’ll get better after another cross country season to build endurance
wowww that‘s great. Keep going mate and all the best on your journey🚀🌟

@@kopz 16
Big future ahead mate. Keep working hard😊
@kopz, if you see this comment, you should make a video on training for the 800 or the mile. And some suggestions I have for this 800 is that you shouldn't try to start off too fast, or otherwise the pace will slow down, and so will your time. start off a very little bit slower than normal, but also be breathing, and make big strides to complete your last lap faster. And probably at the last 200m or the last 100m of the 800m, try to sprint it, pump your arms so you will save some time, at my cross country practices, thats what I do, and I got 10:43 on my 1.5 mile.
I realized that too late. 800 meteres is a long game. Amazing mate, that‘s insanly fast. Well Done.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I‘m currently on a journey of improving my 5k time and focusing back on sprinting after that again but we‘ll see😊
You have to start of fast brother

@@Albusdumbledore840 are you sure about that? I gazed out after 300 meters, lol
@@kopz I don’t mean sprint but if you don’t go off fast you’ll be absolutely left behind by your field and 9n the second lap you won’t have anyone to push yourself, most 800 races are positive split (first half is faster then the second) this might go against what people say about pacing yourself but trust me going out slow will kill your race
The drone knew you were running the wrong way around the track lol.
hahahahaha seems like it, didn't like it at all. Had about 6 trials and couldn't keep up for 50 meters. lol

Thanks brother, giving it everything i‘ve got recently, difficult once my term starts again… You keep going as well mate🙌😊
hey, I noticed that when you start your runs, your legs are way to high up, I think you should practice your low heel recovery more!
Thanks for pointing it out, but i tought you need to do that for sprinting, right? Not for middle distance then?
@@kopz he means at the very start i think you transition into an upwards running position very fast on the 200 especially. Normaly you stay in the drive phase for longer to accelerate more
@@protaytoeguy3133 I see, how long should the acceleration be then? for 20-30 meters?
@@kopz depends on how hard of an effort you do. For an all out sprint 20-30 is good. Try to stay low for the first few steps (you should feel almost like you're gonna fall forward) and focus on powerfull steps. Then try to slowly transition into an upwards running position in those 20-30m
What training advice would you give to train that specifically. I usually trained the starts up to 20-30 meters but seems like the technique itself is not really working yet…

What are your daily steps goals?
As someone who sprints, I can tell you did your research, I’d recommend investing in a foam roller, after every shower or workout I’d recommend rolling out
Thanks mate, I really loved to create that video and also doing my research. Thanks for your tip, I've got already a foam roller but just lazy to do my stretching routines. What's your 100m time btw?
Question, when did you start the timer when recording your sprints? Based on first movement of the back leg or when your back leg was going to make the first contact? Awesome video!
The moment I moved, no matter what part of my body started first. In reality there would be still a couple of reaction time seconds in there, but tried to make it as accurate as possible. Glad you enjoyed the video!
cool video man!! if you want some tips to get better: - the start is not made by short choppy steps; instead you need to get big and powerful steps -also, in the start and acceleration fase, don't focus on keeping your shoulders down, because in that way you're breaking at the waist; try to be a straight line with your body and push your hips forward -when you're at top speed, try to feel tall, like someone's pulling you up as if you were a puppet - try, in every part of the sprint, to push the ground back like a skateboard, be elastic with your feet like a spring do a lot of drills and warmups exercises, try to learn the correct form with them and don't sprint all out every session, spriting is about power trough the track while being relaxed!!!
other things that got to my mind watching: -don't sprint too much, your body needs recovery -don't always train with spikes, use them for short and powerful days, otherwise you're untrained feet and shins are going to get injured -again, try to learn rithm and correct positions for you're drills, start slow and controlled, there's no need to rush, learning needs patience (time gonna do the rest)
Woww mate that's a lot of great feedback. I'm currently doing a similar challenge with cardio, but planning to get back into sprinting after that, so excited to implemented all these tips I got from you :) What's your 100m time then?
I realised that part with recovery especially as wel. Thanks for the input regarding the spikes. Drills are pretty hard ngl
@@kopz yeah recovery is key ahah; I actually got back to track and field less than a year ago (that's why i like to help where i can 😉), so my 100 is not great, i run a high 11, but the coming season i'm sure I'm going to get some good races (hopefully remaining injury free this season 🤞🏻)
