    I am running leviathan at 90% TM for squat and deadlifts..I use SSL 5X5 for squats and FSL 5X5 for deadlift..i have finished the second leader cycle..I really like this program and i was wondering if i could run this for 3 leaders and 2 anchors(instead of 2:1 or 2:2)..what do you think? I know that jim does not recommend 3:2 leader/anchor set up for most people.. where would you put leviathan in a tier of easy to hard programms?

      @@mariosgreca8511 I’d say give it a try. Experiment with it and maybe eat more and sleep more for recovery. I love Leviathan. I’m running beefcake right now. Leviathan without a doubt is in my top 5 favorite templates. Good luck!

    Nice work!! I am new to the book and wondering if you have any recommendation on what template you’ve found to be best for increasing strength. Is it this one? I would say I’m more early intermediate. Also do you have a preference between the templates that use 5 PROs vs the ones that utilize the + sets a lot more?

      @@booze1903 Thanks pal!! To build strength my preference is something that utilizes the AMRAP’s (As many reps as possible) sets. If you’re shooting for around an 85% training max that would be somewhere around your 5 rep max and if you want a 90% training max it’ll be closer to your 3 rep max. I’ve found great success with templates like Leviathan, God Is A Beast, and Boring But Big Beefcake. Im actually starting up Beefcake on Monday. As long as you listen to your body and pick good assistance/supplement lifts to increase the main lifts you’ll do great. Hope this helps!!

      @@MickieLifty Thank you this helps a lot! That’s what I was thinking with regards to the TMs so glad to see it confirmed. I just started the Rhodes 5x5/3/1 this week, which has a 3x5 at the top weight of the day with the last set being an AMRAP. Kind of a random choice but seemed interesting. I will give that 2 cycles and an anchor then definitely take on the ones you listed. One more question if you don’t mind. I understand you do a deload week after the 2 leader cycles, but do you also deload after the anchor (even if it’s just 1 cycle) or you can just go right into the next program?

      @@booze1903 I personally deload when I feel I need it. It’s like every 7th week usually. If I’m sick I’ll have an off kind of deload week too. I’ve been lifting weights since I was 10. And running 5/3/1 since October 2013. If there is one thing I’ve learned it’s: Listen to the body/mind. Longevity is the game. Keep crushing it dude! Proud of you. 👏

      @MickieLifty its for as long as you can pause it. So you might fail. Set your safties to the right spot. Its a pause for ..... seconds or if you are a true beast 1 minute plus.

      @MickieLifty nice, we never talked about that. Yes after my best arm workouts when I got them more sore. It did have the best pay off. With strict curls I did find there was no choice but to rest or heal for gainzzzz. Strict curls is a micro plate game. 1 pound at a time. 1 more rep at a time. Enjoy. 💪💪
