UNBELIEVABLE!! Swedish ROYAL PALACE full tour!| They FINALLY gave him a HOME| Adolf Gustav Badin|
This royal residence has been in the same location by Norrström in the northern part of Gamla stan in Stockholm since the middle of the 13th century when Tre Kronor Castle was built. In modern times the name relates to the building called Kungliga Slottet. The palace was designed by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger and erected on the same place as the medieval Tre Kronor Castle which was destroyed in a fire on 7 May 1697. Due to the costly Great Northern War which started in 1700, construction of the palace was halted in 1709, and not recommenced until 1727-six years after the end of the war. When Tessin the Younger died in 1728, the palace was completed by Carl Hårleman who also designed a l...

We have an awful problem right now here in Sweden that’s rocking the whole country. To put things into perspective it’s always been the destitute outcasts of society that have committed the most crime. That’s exactly what’s happening now with the difference being that it’s no longer native Swedes and the level of violence has increased significantly. It used to be knives and fists and now it’s guns and bombs which have become easier to obtain because of internet technology. Crime rates have steadily gone down but that’s not so comforting to the person whose front door has just been blown off or the person living on the street where a gang member has just been gunned down. We need to stop blaming immigrants and start looking at what has gone so wrong. Segregation, lack of opportunity to assimilate unless you’re fluent in Swedish or English, lack of job opportunities due to language barriers and so on.

We can decide to live a good life or we can decide to become criminals and cause havoc on society. It’s not societies fault if someone decides to pick up a gun and shoot someone in the head or blow up a building. That individual decided to do those horrific and horrible things on their own. There are millions of people in Sweden that are having alot of difficulties with society and problems but they don’t decide to pick up a gun and shoot someone or cause problems in society. There are just some bad and evil people in this world and society has nothing to do with them deciding to be horrible human beings.

Lillkyrka is the name of the village, but you are correct in that it means little church. The village is probably named after the church. So this is Lillkyrka kyrka, Littlechurch church. The k:a on the sign is short for kyrka, church. The church of Sweden is much smaller now than when most of these churches were built, so they don't have staff enough for each church building. "Organisten och Skolläraren" means "The Organ player and School teacher". K is often pronounced like CH in English, so Kyrka is "Chyrka" or "Chyrca", much more similar to English than it seems.

Not sure about nights but when I was young every church was open during daytime and normally unattended, that changed after some series of theft from churches.

That's old style Swedish Upper Class/Nobility for you, Nice, Humble, and Polite. I believe that Grönsöö is an old spelling and that it's called Grönsö nowadays. The title, "Friherre" (Free Gentleman) is basically the Swedish equivalence of Baron.

Thank you for your video! We have plenty of fascinating old castles in Sweden. You wondered why they don't let the sunlight come into the rooms? Well, that would be a real problem because the beems of the sun would bleech the fabrics of the furniture, bleech the paintings and so forth. Sad but necessary. 😞
