    • @_HashForce
      @_HashForce 5 месяцев назад

      Condensation happens when moisture in the air accumulates & condenses on a cold object. Thats not normally a issue with warm miners. Although high humidity can be a issue. That can be combated with heat to the extent you dont let your mining environment get too warm. Then you’d have overheating issues. Where im at in the southern US, during spring time we have high humidity & heat. Im forced to deal with the humidity and kinda accept it, otherwise the shop gets too hot. It can be a delicate balance at times, but 95% of the time its not a worry

    I live off grid. I would have to build electric sys and all. Big ASICS is out the question. Yet they make minis and cpu even chia hard drive mining doesn’t use much electricity. Weather miner, geo miner, helium, air miner the list goes on and on. There are mini cpu nodes that you can stake on etc. I don’t NEED the money so it’s goin to be a hobby. If I don’t make but a few hundred a month I’m happy. Yet,I’m hoping to get to 1k a month total. If I can I would work that buy and sell strategy to keep new equipment once it’s paid off etc. I’m more in for the staking and trading. Mining is just goin to help build that stash up so I can stake quicker. Like I said I’m starting this summer myself. 10kwh is what I’m hoping to get my electric sys for mining too. Let’s see how well I can keep that hash rate to a dollar a hash per machine. Like mini doge 2 is 400h/s @ 420w @ 3 cents a kWh. That’s if the system last for 10years. I’ve heard of some ppl systems lasting 20-25. If so that’s only goin to bring the kWh price down even more. Everything is rainbows on paper time to put my money where my mouth is….. That 10kwh sys is 15k on paper how much more will I have to add etc. it could take 20-25k. Only time will tell

That would work perfectly all year round over here - but with your super cold spells I think you need to concoct an air circulation system that would close the external fans when it's that cold and start pumping (some, or by the look of it at 5f ......all) the warm air from the hot aisle back through the cold side?

    Your shed is very suboptimal. Datacenters try to isolate the hot and cold site as much as possible even going so far and taping the cracks between the racks. If you can not do that you should bet on convection especially with those open air style boards you have. Its really not well organized. Temperature wise anything above 1°C is fine, only if you dip below you risk condensation and shorting out.

    Be careful with humidity which comes with the air from outside. There is lots of people who damaged their mining equipment to unrepairable state by letting humidity to corrode the electronics in their mining hardware. It does not happen immediately, but it certainly will happen if measures are not taken against it. I said this only because I think you value your hardware, sometimes quite big effort to get stuff like this.

    • @_HashForce
      @_HashForce 6 месяцев назад

      Thanks. Yes humidity is a big concern to me. Theres No humidity problems right now in the winter, but in the spring and early summer we have very high humidity here. unfortunately during that time we also have very high heat & I have no choice but to keep air flowing through the shop for cooling. Thankfully in the past 2 years since having equipment in this shop, I have not noticeable any failures or corrosion due to humidity. Not yet anyways. Only time will tell

    • @captainhappy
      @captainhappy 6 месяцев назад

      @@_HashForce You probably can lessen the problem of humidity by mixing some of the warm air coming out of miners to the air incoming from outside. If I recall right there is actual math to this humidity and condensation point, for the electronics itself you can probably spot corrosion by looking at the welding spots if there is green colour building up. This is not always concern, but it's definitely worth doublechecking if doubt.

    • @_HashForce
      @_HashForce 6 месяцев назад

      @@captainhappy thx yeah. Luckily I have never seen signs of corrosion on any parts. Here where i am, when its super humid its also super hot. The air temp is more of an immediate problem than the humidity is. its can be 90’ ambient temp & raining, or 100’ ambient temp after a big rain. Im forced to keep the air running through my shop even with high humidity. & with 90-100’ ambient air, I cant afford to let even hotter hair (120-130’+) come back into the intake side (like what im doing now). Its a challenging climate for my setup in the summer. No perfect way to do it
