Suiting up my Iron Man armor!
I'm Stefan The All-In Nerd and this is my first Iron Man project!
Here's a video when I put on my Iron Man Mark 3 suit in a bit more detail.
Hope you'll enjoy it!
This is a project I've been working on since December 2022 and the plan was to finish it for Comic Con in Stockholm November 2023, which I did!
Now I have finished the video-updates about my work process and shown you guys how I did it.
I aimed for a movie-accurate suit with some adjustments for mobility.
Here's the teaser for it if you missed it: ruclips.net/user/shorts8P8zPSKf8k8

Does Ethanol at 90% also work insted of IPA? I cant find IPA
@@yannick3419 I think so, I haven’t tried it myself but IPA and Ethanol is very similar. I would recommend trying in a smaller dose.
@@TheAll-InNerd thx for the fast Response, very much appreciated :)
Very informative
Before pressing part into the Blue Stuff , you should warm it up slightly . Pressing it in cold will cool the blue stuff a bit ,some details will be not as sharp. I mean your molds are great , just another tip worth trying
Where did you get the silicone parts?
@@BatCasey I casted them myself. I have a video showing it.
great video, and so funny, thanks for sharing:) a question if I may: does the thinner works also for oil painting?
@@Morganize82 Thank you! 😊 Sadly I have no experience with oil painting but I think you might need a stronger mix of ingredients like acetone or turpentine for that.
You could have gotten a way more secure box for the same price. I like everything but the wench strap. I personally would have gone with the elastic band that was the same color. Keep in mind not a lot of budget gamers have an air brush.
Epic
What was the cure time on the paints? Is fresher paint easier to remove than older oaints?
@@jeffmckenzie7282 Between primer and paintcoats the models got atleast 12 hour curing time. But it was days after painting them before I stripped them. If the paint is still fresh I would assume it would strip easier but when it’s fully cured I don’t think it would matter for how long it would have been painted.
I mixed up a bottle of cleaner a couple of days ago and just used it for the first time this afternoon. IT'S FANTASTIC! Thanks man!
Big thanks, just saw this. But can we get without retarder and airflow improver? Or there are some substitutes to them? Because it is hard to find it in here.
Thank you so much for this video 👍
THAT SKIT WAS THE BEST! SUBBED AND LIKED!!!
Did you have to scale higher than the 100% and whos file did you use?
@@frankie352 yeah I think I did 105 or 110%. The files are from walsh3D.
I don't know if you know this, but your music comes through the right ear bud and your voice comes only through the left. How do i know? I only wear my right one to bed and i can't hear a word you're saying. But i started the video without headphones earlier, so i know you're talking.
@@kscott2655 Yeah I know I had problems with that in at least one video, it could be this one. Could you test it out on any of my other videos? If that’s the case I need to figure out my audio output settings.
Does Green Stuff pick up your finger prints when working with it? I'm assuming so like most sculpt mediums. If so how best to remove them? Smooth with water? Isolating alcohol?
@@Sydpart2 When GS start to harden it’s quite easy to smooth out messy parts with a tool and some water as lubrication.
How much did the entire suit cost? And where did you get the files?
@@RicemadeeditZ it cost me about $2.500 and I got the files from Do3d.com. But now there are other better files for this model by Walsh3d.
@@TheAll-InNerdthank you! Love your videos too!
@@TheAll-InNerdone more question, how many kgs of filament did u use?
@@RicemadeeditZ Hard to say, the suit weighted about 18kg but that was with the silicone parts and electronics.
@@TheAll-InNerd ok thank you!
Methylated spirits is the best I have found with a sonic cleaner
Wow, iam not fan of super heroes film, but WOW ....(Prefer painting miniature 😉). Great job!!!!! Maybe next level ,need a kevlar 3D printer !? 😅
Great tips for a great hobby tool. But I'd get it from anywhwhere but GreenstuffWorld, since that company has some shady business practices.
Why are you using gloves with milliput but not green stuff?
@@minisarefuntopaint Because Milliput is quite messy compared to Green Stuff in my opinion. No need for gloves with GS.
@@TheAll-InNerd So it's not dangerous. That's good. I don't mind a little mess, but skin absorbant toxins I can do without.
@@TheAll-InNerd Hmm. Milliput is supposedly a skin irritant, though I haven't had any problems so far. I haven't used it much, and only tiny amounts. I should probably really be using gloves, though that would require finding ones that actually fit.
@@minisarefuntopaint I’ve used Milliput without gloves without any skinproblems. For me it was just the sticky mess that I didn’t like. But my hands have endured lots of materials so maybe they’ve gotten used to it. 😅
@@TheAll-InNerd Thanks, that's good to know. Maybe it only bothers some people? Also, thanks for the instructions on blue stuff! I have just used it to make my first molds, of some sea stars and a brain coral I sculpted.
I got myself the HARVMATTA, which is the newer version, its working great so far! Working on making it ready for carrying witj rivets. Im thinking of finding a way to add a little door to the front with some acrylic and door hinges
wow
This is so cool!! I also went on the news with my iron man mark 3. Great job man!!
Thank you for the tips! Don’t feel ready to use GS to sculpt, but I am going to be using it to attach magnets to bases
Nice one thanks!
how about using liquid greenstuff or DIY spur gap filler?
@@neurodaemon I’ve been trying to make my own sprue goo without luck and I think liquid GS would be a bit fragile. But I haven’t tried so I can’t say for certain.
The legi forge is genius I need to build one right now thank you for showing me
I think you meant 250ml bottle 😅
So many great tips. Thanks.

So will this thinner work on paints for airbrushing t-shirts? If not do you have a link
@@marklitwa5514 It should if you’re using water based paints.
whats the best way to mold complex model parts like death guard pieces with lots of crevices and horns/squiggly bits? Trying to do their weapons at the moment but still not getting perfect results that are usable
Hej intressant video! ja testade Gripens nagelborttagning utan aceton och plastfigurer smälter...det sög!:) mvh
@@mrbergstrom7145 Tack! 😄 Haha ja jag har för mej att det är ganska så potent! Jag vet att jag använde det en gång när jag behövde smälta plast och det gjorde det bra. 😆
I love using blue stuff!
Space wolves player uh
Arooooooooo!
Our local game store did a group experiment in with the local gamer group in the mid-90's where we tested all those products you did plus a number of others you did not mention that we have in the states. One that our store used and won was Pine-sol. Pine-sol was non toxic, non flammable, cheap, and you can keep it the kitchen with the family. Does not need rubber gloves to work with. Will not eat plastic and took care of some really old paint. Not very special and every hard ware store in America has it. Again safe for children .
Respect the beard
Well done!
Great job handling the interview, Stefan!
Well done!
This is good stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Pew-pew! lol!
Loving this series! Good stuff here!
Fantastic! Appreciate your sharing the failures and solutions along with the successes!
Nicely done! Would much appreciate your sharing the Arduino coding and logic you used for the electronics.
Drop an email and I’ll send you some files. 😁🦾
Great look, how is the mobility feels ?
The mobility is quite poor sadly. 😆 Especially the arms. It would be better with a smaller torso tho I think. Stairs are also one of my biggest enemies. 😄
@@TheAll-InNerd Yeah man, I wonder if there is a way to make it more flexible , like medievel armour or something
@@user-pf9up2jv5j I’ve seen people try some of that technique on the knee- and elbow-covers. For the suit overall I think it’s hard without loosing a lot of screeen accuracy.
Well done! Suit up!
Great video! The handler guy did some great work to get it on ❤
Without the handler guy there wouldn’t be any Iron Man! 😄
Thanks for the video! Fantastic work!
