Glad to help! Shindaiwa was absorbed into Echo a few years ago, so finding the original Shindaiwa machines has become somewhat challenging.

Thanks for the video I just got the exact same trimmer from a friend that passed away, its not running but has a lot of compression but at least now I'm aware of a problem common to this trimmer.

I'm a huge fan of Shindaiwa's products and work on a ton of them. I believe the T242X has a gear reduction head that allows it to run a blade. Very nice pro-sumer machine, and not very common.
