Is the Crookie

People are getting crazy with croissants. Pastry chefs across the world are molding this classic pastry into all sorts of shapes and adding all sorts of flavors with one ultimate goal: going viral.*
*I suppose the goal COULD be creating something innovative and delicious. But hey, I've never denied my cynicism.
But are these croissants worth the hype or should we just leave the pastry alone?
For part two of this series, we are headed to Janie’s Life Changing Baked Goods to try the cookie croissant…. AKA “the crookie.”
The crookie was created in Paris, France in 2022 by Stephane Louvard in 2022. It was a hit among locals, but it exploded in popularity after a TikToker got their hands on one.It didn’t take long for the crookie to make it’s way to NYC. While there are many spots where you can snag one, Janie’s Life Changing Baked Goods is known for having the best.
But is it worth the hype? Here are my thoughts….
