Michelle, I cannot recommend enough that you watch the live Sirius concert version of Rise that has a Soldier into. Stunning. Goosebumps. Sometimes tears… Clockwork is one of my favourite Taemin songs. I never thought thought he would perform it live, so I was beyond overjoyed to learn he sang it on his ephemeral gaze concert. When I see him live for his LA concert, I know there will be tears! Maybe ugly happy tears 🥹😭
You have to listen to Taemin‘s „Strings“ from his Advice album.. one of my favs together with Heaven & Rise. Here my other recommendations or must-listens from Taemin‘s b-sides: 1. Strings 2. Bones 3. Rizzness 4. Sayanora Hitori 5. Thirsty 6. Mistery Lover 7. Back to you 8. If I could tell you (a duet with Taeyon)
You just listened to a lot of my favorite songs (Rise, Clockwork, Heaven) Others include: - Guilty - Soldier - Stone Heart (the VCR is perfect) - Just Me and You (the VCR is also perfect) - Identity - Under My Skin - Door (you HAVE to watch all of the live stages to see his performances because they’re unlike anything I’ve ever seen.) Check his 2017 MAMA performed as a start, and also his Metamorph concert. - I unironically adore The Rizzess - I was in the top 0.005% of listeners for Deja Vu off his latest album last year. The live stage at the beginning of his new concert is stunning and I adore the choreography. - Do It Baby is whiplash from everyone else and I love it. But seriously. His discography is flawless. (The majority of Taemin’s albums are out of print/out of stock so you would probably have to buy albums secondhand ATP.)
@ yeah, I discovered him (and, in turn, KPop) in 2021 when he was on his military hiatus. That was rough! But he’s my Ult of Ults and I began collecting his albums at that time. I asked for the them for Christmas and my birthday from my husband and immediate family. My extra spending went towards them. At that point, almost ALL of his new albums in existence were already sold out. So I bought them almost all of them on eBay and sellers on fb groups, etc. I now officially have my entire Taemin discography and it’s my most prized collection!
Thanks for the reaction. About the lyrics I just want to note that when you look at the translation of the song, you should not forget that Eastern culture is full of metaphors. So if you stop taking words literally they won't have the same effect on you. Although in the modern world it is difficult.
I don't know what exactly you would like but if you want b-sides what I always suggest is TVXQ songs(Before the split) -Rainbow( is one of my favorites) -Wrong Number -Whatever They Say Accappela(If you like a singing focused song) And if you like them I have more suggestions
More thoughts, which I’ll put in different comments for different subjects: I would argue that Bibi is the female counterpart to Taemin. She’s (often) very dark and sensual, like as in Kazino and Bibi Vengeance, Animal Farm (heads up, all of those are violent) with a brighter sensuality with Sugar Rush. She also recently released a queer-coded song called Derre.
No, Sua didn't do all the choreography. She's only done a few songs (Red Sun, Demian, Taki Taki). The choreographer they have now (Sooyeon) joined the company in 2019 and Deja Vu was the first choreo she made. She has two assistant choreographers that work with her. All three dance backup during stage performances in Korea. The trouble with Sua is that she makes choreography that only she can do and then has to do it over so the other members don't collapse during the performance. You can always recognize her choreo because it's aggressively sensual.
lol with Demian Sua definitely overdid a bit but that’s it ? She still adjusted things to make it easier for the members. I don’t think you can say that’s a common thing, she actually said she have learn to not think about herself while creating choreographies but also I how it works with the whole group.
Clockwork is one of my all-time Taemin songs, but he had never performed it live. I had started joking that I would give all of my vestigial organs, one limb (ideally my left leg) and perhaps also my first born, to see him finally perform it live. When he started singing it at his new concert Ephemeral Gaze, I almost cried!
No SuA does not create all the choreo. She does is some videos but they have a team of at least 3 people that do their choreo, although it probably varies. Granted choreo can sometimes change as it's taught so obviously they participate in that portion,
As you probably noticed (haven't watched all yet), that Wake Up lyric video is one of the worst for accuracy. Practically every part is wrong for who sings it.

Hopefully it didn't cost you any limbs or offspring 😂
