One of the best, if not THE BEST video on gardening that I have ever watched. Very clear instructions. Very relevant to me as I have over 30 Rose bushes which are around 40 years old and much less floriferous. Thankyou.

I was going to dig up this rose because it looked like a dried up tree with no leaves. Then I said "hey, we're on quarantine. Why not learn a new skill?" I'm actually going step by step while watching this video. I'm going to watch it again to get the hang of it. Thanks my guy 🙏🏾

So, how are the roses looking? I've got drift roses which I pruned this spring. They've been packed with flowers despite the deer nipping off the buds throughout the season.

Great information, I rooted a cutting from a floribundas 4 months ago and it has already grown to about 14” and yielded 2 small rose blooms. Not full size , but healthy ! I have a feeling it was dumb luck because the node, growing medium & light conditions were the only factors of which i was that mindful!

Two of my rose bushes give off a lovely fragrance, one is a peachy color & the other one near my deck is a yellow fragrant rose. I know you mentioned a Mr. Lincoln rose bush, oh yes, I had one but it did die out, I loved the cuttings of the long stems on it to bring into the home.

Great video! One tip though: better use disease resistant roses and just LEAVE the leaves on the ground. They are the best organic matter. Nature is the best guide and we can see that forest soil is the greatest just because of leaves that come in layers, building rich soil year after year. Cheers!

Thank you so much! Very very informative and useful educational video.i love roses and I have five different type of roses in my backyard. I have a lot of Japanese beetles on my roses this year. I think is due to the mulch I put it around the shrubs to cover the lawns and weeds around my roses. What should I do about it? I have not enjoyed my fresh roses much this year. I sprayed baby shampoo around the roses and on the leaves! It seems work a day or too, but it comes back after rain! 😭I don’t know if beetles eat almost all my climbing roses leaves or something else did it. Is any way to control Roses from damage? I am in Canada, Ontario. The weather is cool now(8-20) mostly after third week of August. Our first frost will be in early October. Do I have to fertilize the plants before winter ? One last question, if I want to use the branches to grow a new rose, when is appropriate to do so? Thank you!
