- It was one heck of a sight to see a big turbo VR6 stuffed into the trunk of a Volkswagen GTI..but we REALLY lost our minds when we saw the SECOND turbo VR6 engine in the front! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?! Come to find out - this ludicrous creation is a freaking BEAST of a car. You can expect to see it running 9 flat in the 1/4 mile on LOW boost..as well as 180+ in the 1/2 mile - also on low boost. It's just a matter of time until this thing gets cranked up, so we can REALLY see what she's capable of. When it comes to a one-of-a-kind build like this one, you HAVE to be cautious and patient, and thats exactly what the owner is doing. Props to him on this insane build - the world needs more unique stuff like this!!!

Agreed on both points. However. Having two separate systems (with seq gear boxes) actually makes it easier than you think. This was first done with a Scirocco back from the 80s. Similar setup but not nearly as nice.

complex, yes, but insanely. i worked on F18s for years. imagine how much complexity goes into twin engine fighter jets. they have most systems that can feed/supplement each other because they need to make it home even after taking bullets.
P.S. i miss my corrado. :( my M3 doesn't get half the looks.

Since there not attached to Same transmission would it matter? Unless your losing traction the rubber on the road would synchronize the transmissions and engines. I am just a welder though lol.

@@jessemaclean3777 considering weight distribution, probably not but only the man crazy enough to pull it off knows that..
The gear ratios and tire sizes are the same, and they aren’t connected. They are both pushing independently. If one pushes harder it’s just doing more work. If one makes 400whp and the other 300whp there’s still 700whp total as they are both pushing. The closer the better obviously would make it more predictable to drive
Think of two people pushing the same car. It doesn’t matter who pushes harder. You get the results of both people.

I like how it's so engineered and technical and how one of them said If you blow an engine you still have one to get back same with the battery I guess you can use the other engine to charge one this should be used in the or offroad vehicles like in Australia in the outback have 2 engines on a vehicle along as its not too heavy
Whatever country of car you care about, Japan, Germany, USA, this thing is awesome. This dude had the idea I had when I was a teenager, as in "well, if there's rwd, and fwd, and the power loss and possible blown up transfer case for awd/4wd, why not use two motors?" And that's what this dude fucking did. It's an awe inspiring sight regardless of ultimate results, just incredible workmanship and fabrication work. (*bows down* "we're not worthy!" )

Only cowards who are afraid of the rain delete their sunroofs. Clean the drainage channels out once a year and you’re good. My Jetta has 300,000 miles and the sunroof doesn’t leak, hand crank still works perfectly too.

ManMythLegend27 with the billet blocks its crazy,years ago we were splitting stock Vw blocks around 800+ but with billet blocks the turbos are the limits now. 1200+from a 4cyl is like 700 a few years ago. I still have a friend with a shop and they're working on 100psi boost .its crazy
It's Private I know and its crazy,I'm 39 and when I raced a lot 12s where decent for a daily drivable street car. Now my A4 that I built close to 10 years ago will run 10.60-80 in street trim and its nothing anymore lol. Hell people used to think you're crazy to run a turbo bigger than a 35r and now its considered a small turbo.

dubsport was doing that shit in the uk in the late 90s! they made all kinds of crazy cars, mid engined vr6turbo mk1 golf, twin 2.0l engined mk1 golf and big dub a 900bhp twin vr6 turbo engined mk4 golf!

I've saw a few videos of twin engine minis but those are usually running the old 1200cc motors so they aren't anywhere near as fast as that thing
