There, she chains live Papa can you hear me and Piece of sky, running the stage as if she was in a broadway musical. Per my information, Barbra never performed these songs chained that way.

Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, ....
In my personal opinion, she is even the best.
There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register.
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
• she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total
• she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
• she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia). She was raised in both countries so she speaks both french and italian as native languages.
She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today.
She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada.
She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship
She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US.
This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert.
But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan.
She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years.
She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace" used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera topped the charts for months.
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these).

Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash, Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, …
They made great covers but none of these match the storytelling amazing performance of Lara in this concert From Lara with Love.
Her italian version is also amazing.

Yo no la conocí y la busqué al enterarme que Dimash la admira mucho. No podés dejar de ver la mejor interpretación de un tema musical que yo haya visto: "Je suis malade" del mismo concierto que subiste. Otras interpretaciones hermosas: "Caruso", "Voto roto", "Quédate" (ésta es en español). Marita querida, ufff vaya que cantante, conocí a Lara antes que a Dimash, la admiré desde que la escuche por primera vez y cuando supe que era referente para DImash entendí que cuando la calidad llama se encuentran, ambos virtuosísimos, ella lo ubicó y lo felicitó cuando Dimash cantó Adagio en el concurso Chino, y desde ahí la admiración mutua los llevó por el mismo camino ya que en común tienen a Igor Krutoy, calidad al mil por ciento, en Ti Amo Cosi con Aida Garifulina puedes apreciar la admiración de Dimash hacía ella, llega a dar envidia como la mira y que te cante así es un sueño, bien por ella por que es ídola....., ya reaccionaste a esa canción, ....cariños desde Chile....

It seems I am late to this party..... Though I have listened to and observed many reactions from endless numbers of personalities, I find myself having to put my thoughts of you (some many of them) in a choreographed manner:
1 - You seemed to 'get' what Lara is all about - instantaneously.
2 - You seem to know about the dynamics of body, soul and passions of music.
3 - You share, very honestly, your true and unedited reactions - of course, all based on understanding musicality.
4 - You describe Lara Fabian without ego getting in the way - with the observance and purity of an old soul.
5 - You allow yourself to stay within the moment which allows you to always be honestly surprised by the next offering by Lara.
6 - You add to the already plentiful emotions which allows you to build upon that which makes the symbiosis between performer and listener.
7 - Tears of both sadness and elation were drawn by your involvement and interpretation of Lara's performance.
8 - In my humble opinion, you too, are as beautiful as anyone.
9 - Those who truly understand can convey, whilst though who cannot do so ..... act.

Si esto le impresionó, debería escuchar a "Je Suis Malade"..Para mi entender toda una obra de arte en todo su explendor y magestuosidad no solo vocal sino tambien por su calidad interpretativa. En mi humilde opinión esa pieza de Lara en específico debería ser catalogada y reconocida Mundialmente como Patrimonio Universal de la Humanidad. Espero la disfrute!

Lara à une voix unique, ça voix est très claire et nette quelque sois la langue qu'elle chante c'est parfais tu comprend tout les mots.
Elle chante pas juste avec ça voix ,mes aussi avec son corps et sais expression du visage ,dimash à repris tout de lara .
La performance que tu viens de voir 3t rien comparer à d'autre chanson de lara,de toute façon toute les façons que tu écoutera de lara seront toute chanter avec une passion incroyable.

Écoute je suis malade ,mes prépare une boîte de mouchoir parce que les paroles sont vraiment triste, tu n'aura jamais entendu une chanson avec de telle parole et comme lara est très démonstrative avec son corps et son visage c'est vraiment très triste.

Hello Marita, I hope you read English otherwise I am more comfortable in French but not in your language unfortunately. I am a fan of Lara Fabian and through her I discovered several voice teachers and for me you are one of the most impactful and felt. A real coach reacting to a real singer...like that! You will find out for yourself, Lara is quite a Master in her class and not only sings but lives each of her performances so much that one deaf person and the other blind attending one of her shows would feel the same emotion. She composes the majority of her songs and it is important to choose her Live performances in order to appreciate all the subtleties. Her song "love by Grace" was a phenomenal hit in Brazil. You will discover through the comments that Lara is fluent in 4 languages and sings in 11 different ones. Here are some links that I recommend most with subtitles.

Hi. Lara's native languages are Italian and French. She speaks both since she was 3 years old. Then she learned English and Spanish when she was 10 years old. Currently she is able to speak and compose songs in Italian, French, English, Spanish fluently. But she is also able to have a little conversation in Russian, Portuguese (she evn co-wrote a song in Portuguese with perfect accent, as a Brazilian I can say, the song it's called "Meu Grande Amor", which means My greatest love), and Flemish (Flemish is the native language of her father, she was born in the Flemish part of Belgium country, her daddy if from there. But she was raised in Italy till her 5/6 years old. From 8 to 18 years old she attended the Brussels Royal Music Conservatory in Belgium. She learned how to sing, play piano, guitar, write and read music core, her teachers were Master in bel canto and opera, but she decided to focus in the pop style, even though she is able to sing in operatic style, and she uses her bel canto skills in her pop songs, with her perfect breath control and pasagios. She is able to hold C5 and D5 in chest voice for over 20 seconds, without strain the larynx. Vídeo bellow shows she singing in 12 languages.

Firstly, Lara co-wrote the lyrics for this song, and secondly, Lara is fluent in French, Italian, Portuguese and English ! She also speaks some Flemish and sings in 12 languages !
Thirdly, the movements, arm waving, bending is all part of her breathing control ! And lastly, her rocking back and forth is NOT nerves, it is part of her process and her performance !
